1st time here and we live 7 min walk away. Food was good flavor. It was so loud at 11:30am. And the food was all cold or barely warm. We ate it anyways. Coffee was even cold. It would of been awesome if the food was hot or at least warm hot

Quick take: nice brunch spot Service was super friendly and fast. We sat outside for brunch. I didn't know there were mosquitoes until the next table said there are mosquitoes. Brunch would have been more pleasant if we ate indoors. The avocado toast was really good. Definitely a recommended item on the menu.

Came here for brunch and what an adorable place! It's themed in a very beach fashion and is the perfect place for brunch with your friends on the weekend. They have unlimited brunch drinks and an entree for 44 dollars. We started off with their nata which is a Portuguese pastry that was to die for! Ended up having their donuts too (which were like beignets) and they were just as wonderful. Our entrees were the surfer burrito and the chilaquiles. Just for the spicy lovers please nothat nothing here is spicy. Ask for additional hot sauce for that. The chilaquiles was our favorite of the two as it had more flavor overall. Our drinks were tasty (we had the sangria and the punch). The punch was our favorite. We walked here and are from out of town so cannot comment on the parking. Service was solid.

Really cozy atmosphere with nice interior design. Unfortunately the chilaquiles were super burnt. Chicken sausages were weird too. Otherwise decent enough

I recently added this to my "repeat list" for brunch. They have a great deal- bottomless drinks (1.5 hours) and an entree for $48. You can also choose from a variety of bottomless drinks also- mimosas, sangria, vagabond punch, espresso martini, Bloody Mary and/or michelada. I usually get the avo toast which comes with a sunny egg, greens and home fries. The service is great, the food is yummy, the drinks are bottomless, and it comes at an amazing price. All things you need for a great brunch!

Objects in photo may be smaller than they appear Brunch here can be skipped. Pura vida scramble itself was miniature and mid. the toast came out burnt in multiple places and was inedible. Potatoes were edible but not memorable. Avo toast was the epitome of mid.

Bar hopping in the neighborhood let us to the rooftop at Vagabond. Very cool setting, but hot and humid up there. We grabbed some seats at the bar and ordered drinks and snacks from the happy hour menu. The sliders and quesabirria tacos were excellent. Cocktails were solid as well. Very interesting menu and would like to try some more things here in the future. Solid spot.

Vagabond is a cute spot but there are a lot of tables squeezed into the main dining space. And it's very dark. Maybe I'm old, but I couldn't read the menu with such low lighting. I've never experienced that before. I ordered the quesabirria for a starter and the vegan stir fry for my main dish. The quesabirria was tasty, but felt too greasy and heavy for my liking. I think the cheese added to the heavy feeling. The other person in my party ordered the shrimp tacos and those were delicious. Tasted lighter than the quesabirria. The stir fry was good. I didn't think I would finish the whole thing but I did. I added both proteins, shrimp and chicken (I lift and protein is important to me!) Unfortunately the server thought I wanted a chicken skewer so that's what came out. When the person who placed it on the table realized, he started to take it back, but the server put it back on the table. I found that interesting because the skewer had more of a burnt flavor whereas I'm assuming the chicken that would come with the stir fry would not. I didn't complain though because I was pretty hungry, but that annoyed me a bit. I was looking forward to the dessert menu but there wasn't anything on it that appealed to me (aka, no chocolate and nothing cake-like). They had basque cheesecake, grilled pineapple and ice cream, and a third item that I can't recall. Overall, the meal was decent, but I wouldn't return.

Came with a group of friends. Food and service were great. We decided to share some of the plates, but would suggest personal plates next time. I liked the vacation theme for the drinks!

Came here for brunch for my first visit and was an enjoyable experience. They do have a bottomless brunch option that includes an entree and drinks for $48, which I like when they bundle the drinks and entree together vs paying separately for both. Might be in my head but at least I feel like this is a better deal as long as you order the most expensive entree :) I got the sliders and fries and thought this was not on the menu as an entree I was charged extra for the fries. I enjoyed them but honestly wanted to come here based on the photos of their Birria which is not on the brunch menu. So my bad there! Guess I will have to come back haha. My dining companions got the breakfast sandwich, and shakshuka. The breakfast sandwich really struck me as lack luster and hardly anything inside... mostly bread. I make a better one at home, so wouldn't suggest. The shakshuka looked very hearty and nice though. The winner was really two custard tarts we ordered for the table and shared. They were exceptional! Like a crème brûlée almost. So good. Order this for sure! Service was good but nothing special or stand out to be honest. I did like the ambiance and feel of the restaurant. I will come back to try their Birria, which honestly hope it tastes as good as it looks but overall I would say the total experience was good but nothing really stood out aside from their dope custard tarts.

Three cheers for the nazaré!!! I would come back for this drink alone! My friend and I were bopping around the Dupont art walk when we glimpsed this rooftop and knew we had to make a stop. We ordered drinks and food and were immediately obsessed with the nazaré drink (cute, passion fruity, unexpected but super fun spicy kick) along with the rooftop vibe. The quesabirria was a bit small but delicious, while the poke bowl was heavy on rice but at least filling. The food is not the best value, but the rooftop and drinks together are excellent and bartenders are great. It's an easy summer vibe!

The sardines which were in a can. I've never seen a restaurant do this.

I usually don't leave reviews but I have to this time. The service was fine but the food was horrible. The octopus was cold and flavorless. The worst part was the sardines. They served it in a can. I could have just gone to World Market and saved a trip. Save your money and have a meal at home.

The standout of the morning was the breakfast side potatoes--crispy, seasoned perfectly, and easily something I'd come back for. The breadbasket came with three pastries, which felt a bit smaller than expected, but the almond croissant more than made up for it. On the heartier side, the chicken and waffles were extremely filling thanks to the dense waffles, so definitely a dish to tackle with an appetite. One of the biggest surprises was the brunch salad with salmon, which ended up being one of the best salads I've had in a long time--fresh, balanced, and satisfying. The breakfast sandwich was another highlight: so good that it's now the new standard I'll compare all other breakfast sandwiches to. The smoked salmon bagel was also a fun experience, served deconstructed so you can build each bite exactly how you like it. Not everything was a hit--the French toast wasn't my favorite--but the overall meal was strong enough that it barely detracted from the experience. Brunch offers a few additions beyond the regular breakfast menu, but overall it's very similar to their standard breakfast, just with a couple of extra options. It tends to get full on the weekends to make a reservation. Bottom line: Penbrook is a beautiful hotel restaurant that punches above its weight--excellent service, memorable dishes, and several items worth returning for.

This was one of the most unique shakshukas I'd ever had... It literally tasted like a curry dish you might get at your local Indian restaurant, with a bit of a brunch flair to it. The curry itself had a wee bit of spice and was a bit sweet - but that could have been from the sweet potatoes. The chicken was served in a bowl on the side, which felt a bit... odd... I would've expected it to be incorporated into the main dish. It was kind of bland and a bit lukewarm, so I don't know that I'd order that again... but I would definitely order this again!

We were sat in the solarium area, and it was during the heat dome, and it was really warm in there. Otherwise, though, it's completely charming inside and reminds us of some of the best French bistros we've been to in the country (e.g. Balzathar, Le Supreme). The three cocktails we tried--the frose, le jardin, and the clouseau--were all stunners. And of course the bread deserves another special mention, *especially* the room temperature butter. Thank you for not serving hard as hell butter! We shared the warm shrimp salad to start, and for $31, we were expecting more than a few avocado slices and 4 shrimp on it, but c'est la vie. The dressing was incredible, and the greens were crunchy. That's actually the only dish of the night that we thought was unfairly overpriced. One of us ordered the burger and the other got the rabbit pappardelle--you've got to get rabbit when you see it on a menu, which isn't often enough! There was a good amount of super tender meat and the pasta was perfectly al dente, all in a lightly stunning sauce. Chef's kiss. The burger was, no surprise, another triumph. There was juicy meat, bun integrity, and all the right accouterment notes. The fries are standard. Our daughter got their mac-n-cheese, which is probably just the gratin dish renamed. It was OK. We kind of got out of control for dessert and ordered the pot de creme, the cookie dough ice cream, and the profiteroles. Honestly, these were all good, but nothing that stood out as exemplary as with the savory stuff. Our only major complaint was the service. It was really spotty and while there was a very, very long gap in between when we got our water and then put in our drinks, but our mains came out almost directly after the salad. And the guy was just not very hospitable. Not necessarily a "bad" experience...it just could have been a lot better. Four stars, and we have already declared that we will be back again to "The Dip" because there is so much else on the menu that we want to try.
