Sprague location, perm closed now* We Bought approximately 900$ worth of furniture today from this store on their fire sale. Prices were awesome, the staff was awesome but the owner...... I don't understand how someone can be completely disrespectful to a person over their own personal issues and stress. The piece of furniture that I purchased yesterday and came to pick up today had some one else's name on it. When I brought it to his attention and was blown off, I found Ken who was the man I worked with the day I bought it and he helped me despite the stress he was under because the store was very short staffed. He instructed me to go up to the front counter and get the list of the items I've already taken and were picking up today from the cashier. The cashier wouldn't personally give it to me which was fine, I completely understand protocol. I followed him and before I could say anything he gave my list to the owner that still had an attitude. When I tried to explain to him what was going on, he seemed very confused. Then I stated that I'd like to work with Ken about the situation. He asked why, I told him it was because I didn't enjoy his vibe and Ken knows of the situation. He must have taken it personal and became offended by my request because when we located Ken. He told Ken that I was not being clear with him. I restated that I'd like to work with Ken about the situation because we already spoke and he knows what was going on. The owner abruptly stated that he was the owner so I'd have to talk to him. The hostility in his voice was unnecessary due to the fact I was still being positive and showing respect despite his lack of towards me and my family. So I explained that the item that I had purchased yesterday had someone else's name on it and I was there to pick it up among other pieces I purchased but had to bring the trailer for. He confirmed the list and the item, we were good to go. He walked away to the cashier station. I spoke to my husband to decrease my heart rate due to the upset from his behavior and walked up to the cashier station where I approached the owner. I stated that I'm sorry for the misunderstanding and for his loss in the store, I told him I understood his stress and hoped for the best for him. He said ok and walked away. I shook it off and proceeded to enjoy the day with my family. Our daughter's picked out a few more things for our new home. During that time My husband and I observed the owner talking down to his staff, walking around unhappy and at one point stated to one of his employees "Everyone thinks they are the only people on the planet". When I was checking out I observed him cashing out an individual, he said Thank you and apologized for the wait to that individual. After his transaction he looked over at his cashier and picked up the slips of the pieces I was purchasing and asked me if the prices had red sold tags on them. I told him they didn't because everyone was busy and I was taking them with us today. Before I finished my sentence, he stated well that's why that bookshelf went into someone else's name as he was walking away shaking his head. I looked at the cashier and asked what else can I do? there's two of them and 30 of us on the floor. The paper tags is what you need for the transaction, personally if I don't see a paper tag, I know someone here has it too buy the item. The cashier just nodded his head and didn't respond. While we were waiting to take our items out, there was a hand truck in my visual. I went to ask the owner of I may use that to start loading my stuff. He was looking at my paperwork and then walked off. My daughter was standing next to me, looked at me and asked why he was being rude. I told her that he was probably just stressed and didn't know how to manage his emotions, but remember no matter how stressed you get in life, that's never an excuse to treat people badly. We were finally heading out, I thanked and shook hands with the cashier and Ken, I went to shake hands with the owner as he was walking by Ken and I but was ignored. After doing some research, He's definitely not the guy you see on his website. There's a reason he was autided multiple times in the last few months after the fire in three back of his store.He collected from the insurance so all this furniture for really low prices he honestly didn't lose out on anything. read more

I purchased a couch and a dresser from here with $500 dollars down, and the rest was financed through snap financing. Two days after signing paperwork and hauling the furniture home, I received a call stating that the sales person messed up on the paper work and that I needed to pay an additional 500 dollars or they were going to come to my house and take my furniture. I went through my bank statements, the invoice I signed, and my finance agreement, and the totals on each all matched up to the original agreement. After rude interactions with a manager (Dave) I requested that I be transferred to his manager. At that point I received a call from the owner of the company, and was instantly accused of being a "thief", and "dead beat" and a "piece of shit". He could not explain to me where this mysterious 500 dollar charge came from, instead saying that I was financed for 500 dollars less than what I was actually financed for according to my finance records. *Update* 04/21/23 I contacted the finance company and from what the case manager says, there is an issue on their end, and I am not responsible for any extra payment. But after the way I was treated by this company and their owner I will never do any type of business here again and I would recommend that you find a better establishment to do business at. I originally left a 5 start review on Google but tried to update the review and it could not accept. My elderly friend needed his new bed moved so I figured it's on wheels, no problem! Unfortunately the guys dropped in ON the rails, not WITHIN the rails so the bed slid right off. I'm a smaller, older woman so in 92° heat I had to lift the mattress and box spring and move them. He then looked at me strange and asked why I was just there to browse and I told him I was interested in mattresses. I thought he was joking, so I asked him what do most people say? I chose to purchase a couch from 16 shoes because I was proud to support a business that gives back to the community the way they do. I went to them and let them know I was moving across the country soon and needed a couch for my new apartment in Texas. I took my mom with me and we shopped around until I found one i liked. We paid cash for it and loaded it up and I was off to Texas. I purchased this late October and I left November 5th. We moved and all was good and then in February the front piece of wood that supports the entire structure of the couch broke so I contacted them and let them know once again that I was in Texas, and needed to use the warranty because the couch broke THREE MONTHS after I purchased it. They said sorry! You moved out of state/too far away for us to warranty it. WHY WAS THIS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME BEFORE I PURCHASED IT?! Now, I have a broken couch. I am out of work because I had to have back surgery and recovery is not going well so now almost a year later i STILL HAVE A BROKEN COUCH and they have been ANYTHING but helpful on helping me fix this problem. I have asked for a refund and they refuse. I have tried to get in contact with the manufacturer but they refuse to speak to the public, they only work with distributors. So, now I'm out $500 and have a broken couch while trying to recover from back surgery. So, my warning to you is to avoid this place at all costs which REALLY sucks because i went out of my way to give this business my money...just to get fucked over. read more

We have been shopping around for quite some time for a new living room set. My husband and I work a lot and I work every single weekend. So making this happen has been difficult at best. I happened to get off a couple hours early and we decided to make it happen. Lazy boy sucked, as we kinda expected. (check out that review) So we scouted 3 other furniture spots. 16 cents was always on my radar because of the impact they make to our community. We walked in and was greeted right away. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff and NOT pushy. We bought a sofa and love seat combo. We had to go to another location to pick it up....now, this was close to closing time so we rushed over even though they said they would wait for us. That staff was also ridiculously friendly and helpful. We didn't feel rushed at all! The kids that helped load it up were also friendly and helpful. I wonder if you can see a trend here? FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. Other businesses should take note on how to treat customers. We will for sure be back here for all our furniture needs. They just made some loyal customers. read more

I purchased a sectional 9months ago. when I was making my purchase they told me about a deal 90days same as cash. I thought I was financing the couch but quickly noticed they just out right purchased the entire thing on my credit card. Okay, not such a big deal ill just let that go. Thinking there must have been some miscommunication somewhere. Then they guaranteed me a delivery between such and such time (as I paid extra for this service) They were 1.5hrs late which made me late to work. Fast forward 9months my beautiful couch breaks. I do not have animals or small children or any reason for this couch to break. Upon further investigation I notice one side (entire side) was not screwed together. Its 100% clear this is their fault. So, I reach out to them and send pics including a video of where they didn't put the couch together. They tell me since I didn't purchase warranty and there is no way to prove they didn't screw it together properly they were not going to do anything about it. They said I could purchase another couch or use their repair company at my cost. How would I know to investigate if they screwed the couch together properly? I feel if I had purchased their warranty they would have put it together properly. If ANYBODY is on the fence about this company I would recommend you do some local research for good deals elsewhere. Making a large purchase as furniture is not cheap, do your homework and do not end up in my situation. I really wanted to support this business because of their "story" and their support of our community, but I will NEVER send anyone there, nor return to furnish our new home. We received nice service, although it was a bit pushy. Nonetheless we continued with our purchase. It was a rather rushed transaction. At the final moment we were told we needed to purchase a mattress cover if the warranty was to be honored. Much to my shock it was about $129! There were multiple miscommunications at this time. We were told it was a $89 deliver (turned into $129 on receipt). When it was delivered we had no warning and weren't prepared; the man delivering it threw his hands in the air and said he didn't have our phone number...we almost denied the delivery and it is one of my biggest regrets that I didn't. We were in such shock at his behavior that we didn't notice he didn't take the old mattress (which we were told they would do...as a "favor"). This was a purchase that was over $3000 and I can't even sleep on the bed...it is way too high for me (the sales lady told me to get dog steps)...I can't get onto it without help...because of my severe arthritis I cannot get into a position that is comfortable because the mattress is so deep. I was told I had to sleep on it for 30 days before a return was considered. I can't sleep on it because it causes pain more severe than I experience normally. I've been offered in-store credit, which I suppose I must use...so disappointed...never have had a problem like this with any business in 40 years of purchasing mattresses/furniture. read more

My girlfriend and I, both only 24 years old, are looking to furnish a couple of our rental homes that we own. I am a mortgage officer, she is a dental hygienist, we make a combined 10-12k per month. I say this because of the fact that we'd been cleaning one of our homes today, so we looked pretty scrubby, so I'm not sure if that made us appear like a couple of kids with no money to spend or what. At the grand opening of the new store, we were met by an older gentleman who openly welcomed us and told us to look around. We were helped by a lady named Beth, who was amazing and answered all of our questions. We were getting ready to leave and as I was talking to Beth about furniture, my girlfriend was told by another employee the following, this is almost verbatim, nothing over dramatized here. He said, "It's time for you guys to go, we're closed, it's 6 o'clock." She then said, "We are leaving, my boyfriend is just finishing his conversation with the sales associate." I then walked over to see what the big deal was and he continued, "I'm tired and we've had a long day, we're closed, time for you guys to go." In disbelief and slightly angered, we started to walk out and my girlfriend said, "I hope your day gets better!" to which he just laughed while following behind us and immediately closing the door when we left. My girlfriend flipped him off through the window, which wasn't right, but it shows how upset she was because that is never something she would do. We've both worked in customer service jobs before starting our careers and have both had to stay long after closing to make sure clients were happy. My parents are very well off business owners and one thing I learned was that customer service and treating the customer with respect is priority number one. It was 5:58 PM, they close at 6:00 and I was finishing up my conversation with the amazing Beth, so the fact that this guy had the nerve and was that unprofessional to kick out customers who were very intent on buying A LOT of furniture in the near future, was completely out of line. I called the main store and complained to the manager about the rude employee, however, working in customer service jobs in the past, I doubted that my message went further than that phone call realistically. I then called the store we were just at and Beth answered, to which I genuinely praised her for being such a great salesperson and politely answering all of our questions and helping us, however I then told her we would not be purchasing because of the guy who was completely out of line to us. She then apologized and said it was the owner and that she completely agreed that the way we were treated was out of line. The guy who rudely told us to leave WAS THE OWNER??? WTF. Now I'm really upset thinking, okay, I get it if some angry employee getting paid minimum wage wants to go home for the day, but to hear that the OWNER nonetheless, was the one who kicked us out rudely, I about lost it. I read Jason's 'about me' on the website and am just shocked that someone with nothing in his pockets just a few years ago would be that ungrateful, that he thinks he can act the way he did just because he runs a couple of hole in the wall, small furniture stores. Any competent and successful business owner would tell you that customer service is number 1 and telling a very well connected and interested-to-buy client to leave at 5:58 PM because you are tired and had a long day is unacceptable. Jason, I've read what few reviews I could find about your store and for the most part they are good. I"m not sure if we just caught you on a really bad day or you judged us by our clothes and thought we were wasting your time, or what your problem was, however, as an OWNER of a business you do not act that way to customers. We were extremely polite, outgoing, and on our way out as soon as I finished my conversation with Beth, and to act that way towards us at 5:58 PM when you close at 6 is just ridiculous. Hopefully today was a fluke for you, but if it's not, then I completely understand why you had nothing in your pocket and were down in the dumps just a few short years ago. The fact that this guy can run a store shows that obviously anyone can run a business, but experiences like this weed out the bad from the good and show who the respectable business people are. I'm writing this review to let people know of our terrible experience with the owner Jason, however, I will say in all fairness, that the prices were good, the furniture was all decent, and all of the other employees were great. Unfortunately, as the son of parents who run successful businesses, I just can't support a place whose OWNER would act the way he did and want people to be aware that you might want to avoid the angry man at the store, unless you are dressed nice and have cash in your hands.
