They have great deals on the already made food after 6pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's always clean here[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and everyone is always really nice.

Stopped by this market to pick up some fruit since I've been eating crazy lately in this area. I like this store the best out of all the ones I've gone to in San Gabriel because it has a bakery and pastries are one of my weaknesses!! Not your typical Albertsons cakes and pastries either... 168 has lots of Chinese buns, pastries, cakes and Taro cake!!!! This market is located on Las Tunas, right beside Sun Nong Dan, where the Pizza Hut is at the corner. Plenty of parking in the morning, but not in the afternoons or evening since there are several other stores in this shopping area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is clean and as I've mentioned, the best thing about it is the Chinese bakery inside!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And I'm sooooo going to try their baked goods later in the week.

    Cherries $3.99 a pound. Cheap!

It's freezing in here! The whole market temperature feels like a Costco freezer section! I was in and out quick! Been waiting to visit this location of 168 Market, but parking is no joke here in this busy plaza. I was dining nearby so I got a chance step inside the market for some snacks my daughter wanted... they didn't have her snacks but I thought this was a pretty cool market! Gotta love the cheap prices on Asian style veggies, herbs, fruit. The aisles were also clean and fully stocked! I'll be back for sure. Hopefully I can find parking!

It could be because I don't live in this area that I like this market. There's a good variety of groceries and produce. The item were fresh and the prices are decent. The staff was great as well.

There is also a little deposit for holiday pick up depending on the size of your order. Their sashimi platter is beautiful, fresh, delicious, and always a party favorite. I usually get: Salmon, Toro, Yellowtail, Scallops, and Oysters. If available, uni trays and fresh wasabi (which can also be picked up at HMart). Scallops are my favorite but every piece of fish is so good and cut perfectly. Parking and pick up is easy. It is a very small store front with one party inside at a time and pay at the counter. Highly recommend for party platters for fresh sashimi.

Beach day + Malibu Seafood has become a tradition for me…read more A quick heads-up before you go: be patient. Parking can be tight, the line usually wraps around the shack, and everyone is hungry. But don't let that scare you off--the food is absolutely worth the wait. I've been here three times now, and one thing has never changed: the 3-piece fried fish and fries is mandatory. The portions are huge, and I'm calling it now... the best fish and chips in Los Angeles. The fish is unbelievably crispy on the outside, perfectly flaky on the inside, and fried exactly the way it should be. I used to order the fried seafood combo, which comes with fish, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. Everything is good, but the fish and shrimp are the stars, so now I just order the fish and chips with fried shrimp à la carte. One item that deserves way more attention on Yelp is the ceviche. It's ridiculously fresh, loaded with flavor, and served with crispy fried tortilla chips. Honestly, I'd order it every visit. The clam chowder is good too, but the ceviche steals the spotlight. The lobster roll is another surprise. I love Broad Street Oyster Company's lobster roll, but it's over almost as soon as it starts. Malibu Seafood's version is much more generous while still being packed with fresh lobster. Don't sleep on the steamed mussels either. Order a pound for the table and make sure you save the bread for the broth. That broth alone is worth coming back for. I always finish it off with one of their fresh-squeezed lemonades--the perfect pairing after a day at the beach. Seating can take a little patience too, but that's part of the experience. Grab a table overlooking the ocean and PCH if you can. Fresh seafood, ocean breeze, and flip-flops still covered in sand... that's Malibu done right. No reservations. No fancy dress code. Just outstanding seafood in one of the best casual beachside spots around. I'll keep coming back.

I liked the creaminess of the chowder. A little different than clam chowder from other places but a good version. Only needed a cup to fill me up after my fish and chips. **June 2026: Saturday Afternoon Visit**…read more I regularly visit the Yama in Alhambra and usually pick up salmon, yellowtail, and tuna sashimi, so I was excited to try this Los Angeles location since it offers bento boxes. I ordered the Yama Sushi West LA Bento Box Classic California ($18.49) and also added a salmon nigiri sushi a la carte to share ($19.49) since I'm a huge fan. The bento box was more than enough food, and I even had leftovers, which made it feel like an especially great value for the price. The bento box came with a Yama California roll, a refreshing somen noodle salad, and a generous serving of hot chicken katsu making it a really balanced meal. Everything felt priced appropriately for the quality and assortment, and I appreciated that it offered a healthier, more diverse lunch option. The market has a couple of two top tables inside and outside, plus a clean bathroom, which made the visit comfortable. Parking was okay. They have a small lot available for patrons. I came during peak lunch time on a Saturday and was surprised to find free parking in the parking structure just behind the shop. Service is great. They also have seating inside and outside.
