It was clear that the staff did not know how to prepare or serve it properly. Overall, poor service, lack of product knowledge, and improperly prepared food made this a disaster of a dining experience. I would not return.

Elya Tzvi Goodfriend 7 reviews in the last week 17th was always good in my opinion, but lacked in a few areas that would have made it hard for me to give them an honest 5 stars in the past. Ever since they moved to their new location (around the corner) my opinion of them has only gone up. This last time I visited was especially exceptional. The service was great (thanks Ramir and all the others). Staff and was much more attentive and it was just that one notch higher of quality that in itself deserves 5 stars. The owner himself delivered some of our sushi just so he can present it in all its glory. His smile, friendliness and even suggestions (sauce...) was helpful. The food was amazing! The sushi was out of this world, from display to taste to freshness, just amazing. The rice of the sushi was fresh and warm, not some day old batch left over from the day before or even the morning.... The fish looked and tasted fresh. The fresh made deserts were scrumptious. All in all, my girlfriend and I really enjoyed ourselves. The ambiance and wider, more open space also really enhanced the experience very much. From the food to the ambiance, this was definitely an experience to make me come back. The waiters are very nice and helpful with any questions I may have had with the menu. They serve a complimentary warm fresh garlic bread before the meal. What a good way to start my night. Then, the sushi was just to die for. The owner offered me to try the Pyrus Roll. It has a few things inside and also feta cheese inside and sweet pear that is caramelized with red wine on top. The combination makes your taste buds go insane. I honestly left so satisfied, and the prices are reasonable due to the fact that its a kosher certified restaurant. I completely understand. Totally worth every penny! read more

Great food, excellent service, modern decor, this really is a hidden gem in South Beach! The menu has a lot of varieties from pasta dishes to seafood and sushi. I had a Mediterranean salad with grilled salmon which was absolutely delicious, juicy and fresh - it was so good that I have to equally rate is as an excellent salmon dish that I just had at Prime 112. My husband had baked ziti which tasted incredible, very quality pasta and cheese. Food is truly excellent at this restaurant plus the prices are great! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We found this place through Groupon. It's not too far from the Miami Beach strip- about 2 miles. Before we could even get through the door, another customer was coming out giving high praises. Romero was nice from the moment we entered. We asked about the promotion for the free appetizer. Although it was an old promotion, he gave us the current promotions that were taking place. He gave us great recommendations for entrees and once he got a feel for our preferences, he catered his suggestions to our liking. Everyone was friendly and had warming personalities. That's right......for a 1:00 am late night meal the service was attentive and prompt. The place was full, every table had guests. Lots of wait staff, and the owner himself made sure every table was attended to. We had mozerella sticks appetizer, and a delicious mango, strawberry, and banana smoothie. Then we had a spicy tuna wrap and a super delicious greek pizza. To end on a sweet note, we tried the cheesecale with caramel sauce. It was fresh, creamy, and beautifully presented. We were expecting a nice place with good food.. but as we start getting our orders and tasting these great looking plates of food, we were blown away by the superior delicatessen, each plate had its own uniqueness and flavor! This is my favorite restaurant in south beach. My favorite foods consist of sushi, fish dishes and Italian cuisine; 17 covers all. The fish is fresh, and I can tell that they make their sauces for the pastas. The restaurant is clean and I like that there is a display of the fresh made desserts in the entrance. Went with my wife for lunch today and had an amazing time. I had a special sushi roll called Miami Heat which was a California Roll covered with baked tuna. I never before had such a great roll!!! We also shared a piece of cheesecake for dessert which was amazing. Both the owner and the waitress were very friendly and made us feel at home.
