It was more like a potato cake, shredded potatoes with sour cream and cheese, giving it both a smooth whipped consistency that also had potato pieces. I liked how it felt and tasted, something different than usual. I poured syrup on my pancake (I love syrup) which gave it a soggy consistency before I realized this was a bit different than your usual buttermilk circles. The menu describes it as whole grain with oats, cornmeal, and spices. All good to me. The restaurant has a dated look but appeared to be clean and very well maintained. I know they have been open for over 10 years. They have a bakery display case at the front of the restaurant that contained cakes and a few other items, not so much pastries.
