I visited on a Sunday evening in February at sunset (which I can imagine is peak time at this outdoor bar with exceptional views of the beach and sunset) and only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table since they're not currently accepting reservations It was chilly outdoors with some light winds understandably since we were on the coast, but there were ample heat lamps to keep warm. I thought the cocktail selection was very impressive, and I ordered the "Yuzu Fresa" which was light and fruity. It tasted really great and I appreciated the strawberry lemon garnish. My boyfriend ordered the "Bourbon Berry Lemonade" and it was very tasty, too. Sometimes I feel like cocktails like these can come out too sweet -- but these were well-balanced. We shared a shrimp cocktail type dish for an appetizer, and a delicious banana bread pudding-type dish for dessert. It was all scrumptious -- almost as scrumptious as the sunset views. All the employees we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful, and one of them even moved us over to a table with a better view once another party cleared out. My ONLY complaint (and this has nothing to do with the food, drinks, or really the restaurant staff or service at all) is that by the time it got dark there were no lights on the patio except for the blue mood lighting -- so I couldn't see what I was eating -- ha! I feel like an elder saying this -- but it's nice to be able to see your food sometimes hence the lack of images of any of the dishes we shared. This is a first-come, first-serve spot, & weekends can get a bit crazy. You've been warned. Also, although most of the seats/tables are "high" (only one "lower" couch area available), the view is nice from most seats/tables. However, if you're lucky enough to snag a seat/table at balcony's edge, you will not be disappointed with the view. If you are an actual hotel guest, this is a horrible experience. While the views are pretty, your restaurants entire experience should not be based on just nice views. This is supposed to be the Ritz Carlton. First of all when you arrive, no one comes to greet you. You're just standing there. Then hotel guests can't even make a reservation. When you're paying over 1k for a room, it's ridiculous that non hotel guests are not on a waiting list. Second the food is beyond mediocre. What is shown on the online menu when you Google the restaurant, is not what they serve. I arrived expected a great menu with fresh oysters like what is listed and instead their menu has 7 items on it. The exact same menu items served at their other restaurant. You would think the hotel and restaurant can afford a proper marketing agency and management that is making sure the online menu properly represents what's actually being served. We ate here visiting my cousins staying at the hotel. The Caesar salad with chicken was pleasantly tasty. The pine nuts added gave it a nice crunchy texture that I liked. The wings were seasoned it like a sweet chili flavor. The Brussels sprouts are also a good choice. My brother had the chicken BLT with truffle fries, I didn't taste it but he said it was good ! The dining was outside on the patio where we were able to watch the sunset but after that they only had blue lights and it was so dark you can barely see your food. Ok if you want the most amazing view ever, look no further than 180blu. I came here for Valentines day and they had a really great performer singing live. I had a few different sushi rolls (each amazing) and we splurged on some good whiskey. This place is very expensive but I mean what do you expect, it is at a gorgeous hotel and is located on a cliff with full ocean views. You get what you pay for here and nothing disappointed. Of course I wish I could've stayed at the Ritz, but instead we came for dinner at 180blu. We knew it was going to be busy on such a beautiful evening since their view is amazing but we were able to get a table right when we got there. Their menu is pretty small and not super exciting but I do have to admit that everything was very delicious and fresh. Most of all, the views are sooooo pretty and being to watch the sun set was totally worth it. We each had a drink, 4 appetizers and 1 dessert and the bill was over $160 but I'd say it was worth it. We had the spicy tuna over crispy rice, the lomo saltado tots (Peruvian flavors were soo yummy), hamachi crudo, and the chef's grilled cheese with had Iberico ham and 2 difference cheeses. For dessert we had the churros. YUM! Our server offered to take our photo off the balcony and the pictures came out so good! Can't wait to frame them. You can always tell Ritz Carlton employees have great training. After dinner, we walked around the property and it is absolutely beautiful. My wife and I used to go pre-Covid for the Taco nights and when out of town guests came to visit. Each visit was what you would expect from a Ritz Carlton restaurant, great service, great food but with a price. This past visit we came with friends from out of town and enjoyed another fine experience. Service as excellent always attentive without being oppressive (and the terrace was full). We were lucky to snag the last table before a wait period was in place. Ordered drinks to start, I had the Bourbon special with Blackberry and one other our party had the "Fresa" and we both enjoyed these cocktails. For lunch two in our party ordered the Burgers which they loved and you get the choice of three different types of fries with the burger, I ordered the Tuna Salad and my wife and her friend spilt an order of Caesar salad, Brazilian Rolls, and an order or charred broccoli. Beautiful pristine views from this location! Great place to go for a nice cocktail and excellent service. They have high top tables with umbrellas. There is a beautiful view from anywhere really, overlooking the California coast. Service was great. We were greeted by a friendly waiter with water and lemon and our drink order was taken right away. I had the margaritas. It was one of the best drinks I've had. Absolutely spectacular experience here. To me, this Ritz Carlton and it's restaurant truly define what a Ritz Carlton should be. Upmost luxury and unparalleled level of service. This place is not a well known gem in Orange County, but a must for a romantic evening. You will be astonished as you see waves breaking below under the moonshine. Treat yourselves to a nice bottle of wine and sit by the firepit. I mean, how much more romantic can t get? Oh wait, it does. On the evening when I was here, the waiter even brought a rose to give to my date while she stepped out to the bathroom. At that point I was really wowed. I've been to 180blu at least a dozen times. It's always my go out with visitors, just just chill nights in general. I've been here a couple of times since the pandemic, everything was great as usual. My last visit was not great at all. We ordered burgers, which were very salty, and other small bites, none of which were upto their usual standard. Service was below average. I know there are covid restrictions but they are inconsistently applied. We went on a chilly (August?!?) evening. I asked for some blankets and was denied one due to covid. half hour later another person offered us towels to keep us warm. So I'm not sure what their covid policies are? Seems it's based on their convenience. Since it was freezing and food was below par, I asked for a table at Raya for desserts. I was told by 180blu manager in charge that they couldn't accommodate party of four. The restaurant was busy, but still had tables. A minute later, I was able to get myself a table at Raya! She ate all the food within 2 days. She approves the doggie menu. The patio is not too small or big with beautiful views of the Pacific Coast ocean and beach. It also has direct stairway leading down to the beach walkway. It was so relaxing just watching the beach, the birds and the surfers. I've mostly come on evenings where they have live music, specifically Ryan Heflin who regularly plays there, and he's amazing! I haven't had any of their cocktails besides beer or margaritas. Their margaritas are good, not particularly one of the best I ever had but they're not too sweet and they do a fair pour. People seem to go crazy over their passionfruit mojito though. Loved coming here. We decided to sit outside to enjoy the weather and views. The outside patio is first come first serve and does get busy during lean times. Luckily we were able to get a table right away around 4pm. They have a nice cocktail menu although their food menu isn't as extensive but it's still very good. We got truffle fries, wings, hummus, Brussel sprouts which were all really good. All the food is perfect to share with a group of people.
