Charming spot to relax a while, music is very low and not intrusive. Quiet even on a Sunday morning. Coffee was nice and strong but the absolute must get is the almond croissant. Tons of good almond filling, very soft and buttery. Scone was good too. Love the local art for sale on the walls. Did not like that everything is served in single use containers even though we said it was to enjoy in shop. Bathroom was pretty clean but the whole building has some deferred maintenance. Bathroom door has some water damage. Lots of cobwebs along walls, floors haven't been properly cleaned in many moons. All the furniture needs to be replaced or steam cleaned asap. Very gross. The side tables are cheap and one is totally broken. The little town this is in is so cute, I think this place has a lot of potential. read more

Best Latte I have had in Dallas Area yet! Came in on a weekday early morning and it wasn't busy. I decided go with the lavender & honey latte with oat milk and was everything. The perfect balance of both honey and lavender, but not overly filled with sugar. The expresso also did its thing as well! Now, the only downfall was the chocolate croissant. The pastries prices were not posted, so I asked for the croissant not knowing it cost more than my actual latte. Nothing was spectacular about the croissant and I would pass next time. I loved that they have long extension cords all over so people can plug up their electronics . This place is perfect for working or a study session. First time at this place. What a perfect place to be especially in this gloomy, rainy weather! Was just passing by looking for a place to get a treat and lo and behold I see the words... Coffee and Pastries on the window! TBH I looked at the reviews and when I read "strong good coffee" I knew I had to check it out. I cannot stand going to a coffee shop and being served overpriced, weak coffee. When I stepped into this place, I really liked the feel of it.... chill, nice atmosphere. I wanted to try this almond croissant and when I saw cinnamon mocha on the menu I knew (as a Hispanic) I had to try. The cinnamon chocolate flavor reminds me of Mexican hot chocolate. If you get the almond croissant I recommend you get it heated. It tasted fresh! And the cinnamon mocha coffee was so good! I honestly didn't want to leave a review because I didn't want to give away this spot but I Had to give credit where credit was due. Great job to the sweet woman who made the coffee! Ooohhh! This "1846 Hug" DEFINITELY hugged my soul! It was the perfect amount of sweetness & the smoothness & perfect temperature is what brought on the "hug"...on the inside ! This place is tucked in the middle of Cedar Hill & a quaint little spot. I love that it has a cozy space to chill with a faux fireplace. It's a little chilly inside & when I walked in, the reception was a tad different than other coffee shops. Maybe they were trying to figure out if I was in the right place. But the coffee was superb! A little pricey for my budget at seven dollars apiece but they were so good and the service was friendly the atmosphere was nice they had tables and little seating areas little couches and tables. They also do tacos on Tuesdays & Saturdays and have Gelato on the weekends. Southern hospitality - we were welcomed by Jackie (her kids own the cafe). She made us feel at home, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Comfortable seating -- a number of tables that are distanced from each other. Great place to relax, read, catch-up with friends, or dive into some work (the wifi is fast: 300mbps down/30 up). Beautiful decor that speaks to the history of the town, but also modern / comfortable. New favorite spot in the Cedar hill / Mansfield area. stumbled upon 1846 coffee after a hike at cedar ridge preserve. was looking for a quick pick me up after that strenuous hike. as I entered the shop I noticed it was quite busy with people studying, working or just plain enjoying a nice cup of coffee. I was greeted by the barista which she allowed me to take my time looking at the menu. I opted for an iced lavender honey latte and I must say was one of the best lattes I've had. Not too sweet but just the right amount.
