    Haddock Fish Tacos
    Owen C.

Though it says they were closed on Tuesday they were open today. Visiting the area to conduct a wedding and it looks very nice from the menu outside. Inside the ambience matches with great lighting and motif. Kudos to the bar service who were very talkative and friendly. Also, with the atmosphere the couple next to me at the bar were talkative as well and added to the experience. I got the fish tacos as my second choice since burgers were not ready at the moment and they were very open about it . Though the description says jalapeño, it is nothing towards heat. With the fries, there was a nice size to the dish. Fries were on point; very crispy and fresh. The haddock in the fish tacos was a bit fishy, but was masked once was over the entirety of the taco. They were completely crisp and cooked well inside. Between the good food and the service I feel this is a very good stop for food in Alex Bay!

    New strip

We had stopped in on a busy Saturday at 4:30 with no lines and waiting. The weight staff was pleasant and the appetizer was amazing. Started the dinner off with the seafood trifecta, the cocktail's sauce had the perfect amount of horseradish. My boyfriend's New York strip sandwich had the most amazing aïoli sauce. My shrimp tacos were cooked to perfection. Plenty of food and great outdoor seating. We made sure to let the chief know of the superb aioli sauce. We will definitely return to this location for more experiences!'

"Home Made" Baguette was mushy, and old. Hade to ask waitress 3 times for bread

Supposedly a "steakhouse" but 2 choices plus beeftips. Had tenderloin and was cooked perfect medium rare. Had asked the waitress ahead about the gorgonzola cream sauce and espresso- carmel. She said they may not have it! I asked her to find out and she said she would and steak came back already cooked. Steamed clams weren't rinsed properly, it was water that was brown and had no butter or wine in it. I should have sent them back. All clams were gritty. French fries were cold. Would never come back. Bread was old and mushy and not house made fresh.

    Steamed clams - excellent

The steamed clams were excellent! The clam chowder had a wonderful flavor but was kinda watery. The service was good. Asked for water but never received it. Fish tacos were good but not great - the tortilla seemed hard, kind of tough like they were microwaved. The fish was tasty but there was no mango jalapeño salsa on the tacos. Overall good, probably a better choice than some of the other options on the street. Ambiance was nice, good location!

The steakhouse wedge is supposed to be a salad

If I could give a zero star review I would. Nothing about this place was good. Asked for a beer menu and was told they didn't have one but the table next to us got one. Waited 10 minutes for the waitress/ bartender to come to the bar and let me know what was on tap. Ordered calamari and half the dish was batter, hot peppers and mystery fish. Very greasy. I ordered the steakhouse wedge. a salad which was just a quarter of a head of lettuce with well done steak thrown on top and I asked for medium rare. The onions were supposed to be pickled red onions but they were just regular red onions. My wife ordered sunset shrimp tempura bowl which had unwashed carrots and dry shrimp. The cucumber was just cucumber skins and the whole dish was flavorless. My wife used my balsamic dressing to put flavor in the dish. The bathrooms are very close to the bar with no ventilation and the flies are everywhere inside and out. You may have to use the bathroom after eating. I do not recommend

First off, their website is odd. Not much information, quite confusing, sometimes it won't even load (on mobile device), so if you're trying to make a reservation, call them directly. Location, beautiful, along the river, great outdoor seating. I'm sure dinner and sunset is stunning. Good, it was okay. We ordered kids breakfast, huevos rancheros skillet thing, chicken and waffles, biscuit and gravy, and the whisky flight. The huevos ranchero was good, nothing to rave over but good. The chicken and waffles didn't come with syrup at first, I'm sure it was a mistake. The biscuit and gravy... looked amazing, but the biscuits were hard. Like rock hard, and even after sitting in the gravy, no moisture would come back. Haha Service... the lady was so sweet, but she kept forgetting us, she would place hot things right in front of the baby where she would easily grab it. She had a hard time splitting the bill. Ultimately we had to ask another waitress for water refill and splitting our bill. Maybe we will go back... but not in a rush.

The hostess was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming.. I thought man a good start.. then it went drastically down hill. It took us over an hour and half to get and finish our meal. Waiter came over and seemed out of place. Took our orders for drinks and appetizers then disappeared. Our drinks came out slowly considering it was two waters and a lemonade. We ordered the garlic cheese curds. No plates to eat them on, no extra napkins.. They were good, nothing like omg I have to get again. We asked now for a Pepsi and Arnold Palmer with our dinner order.. drinks even slower than the last time came out.. no water refills to be seen. Then our food at this point should be done.. oh no waiter comes out..they are out of chicken fingers. Our child has to order something else.. choices were grilled cheese or pasta. We came here specifically because of the kids menu and tenders. That should have been told to us before even getting into the dining area. So I ask can you make a small kid burger? Nope! They are all premade burgers. They offer no alternative to a kids meal that has protein on it unless you want grilled cheese. What the actual hell. My kid has an issue with milk. They won't discount the adult meal that our kid won't fully finish. So a reasonable night went out the door. Was the waiter willing to ask a boss.. again nope.. no boss to be seen. Husband ordered the fish and was told to pick any side. He ordered poutine. I ordered the grilled chicken with poutine. My son was forced to get the fried chicken and we had to cut it up for him. No water refill or refill asked once our food hit the table. Didn't see our waiter again til he wanted to settle the bill. My chicken was ok. The chicken really should have been pounded thinner.. one side was very thick and the other was barely there. I wasn't impressed with the poutine, beyond swimming in gravy, too much. My sons chicken was huge so he only ended up eating 1/3 of it given he's a kid. Such a waste of money. My husbands fish was ok, it came out with chips on his plate and then the waiter brought poutine. he said the texture of the breading wasn't good. At home we have some of the best fish fry's and this one wasn't one of them. Here's the kicker.. get the bill.. it has full shot for all meals.. no man we messed up with your kids meal.. and they charged my husband extra for poutine. 4.50 for something that came with his meal. My meal was normal price. At this point we had been there for an hour and half with a child I wanted out so we just paid and left. If your looking to flush money down the toilet and spend an hour and half to two hours of your life on a meal.. this is the place.

The place has an indoor dining room, bar area and outside patio seating overlooking the river.  I stopped by for a late lunch recently on a sunny day. I headed to the patio where I decided to take in the riverfront views. I was given the light fare food menu which offers traditional Canadian pub fare including appetizers, wings, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, fish & chips, and pizzas. I got an ice water and decided on the Maritime Lobster Wrap ($19.95) served with fries and cole slaw, which was served to my table in under 10 minutes. The lobster wrap (cut in halves) was a good size with lettuce, shredded cheese, carrots, and a dense mix of shredded lobster meat in a mayo dressing. The fresh cut fries were firm and hot. The cole slaw (shredded cabbage, carrot, red cabbage) were crisp and creamy. After I was done, I was promptly given the check which came out to $22.54 CAD before tip or $17.11 USD before tip. Overall, a good choice for lunch on a very nice day. I watched several boats pass by as I ate my lunch.

The restaurant was not surprisingly empty as it was shoulder season and it was at 11am. I had a cup of seafood chowder, since I didn't want to just order a coke. The chowder was decent. The ingredients were good, but the soup itself was a bit bland. I didn't expect much from a seaside pub in rural Ontario to be honest though. Service was great, no complaints at all. I imagine their entrees are better looking at the few reviews.

Anyway I ordered chicken parm off the regular menu with a posted price $16.95 and requested spaghetti instead of angel hair was told no problem. asked if there were any rolls or italIan bread. Waitress said no but I can butter a piece of white bread if you want. Declined her offer. Meal came out with angel hair instead of spaghetti. Sauce looked and tasted like chef boy a Dee. Bill came and was charged $18.95. Questioned the waitress and said she would find out why. came back and pointed to the bottom of the menu where it said that menu items and prices are subject to change. I understand that but one should be told that the price you see on the menu is not the actual price of the meal. What made it worse was the tone in her voice as she was saying it-very degrading. Last year when we visited they were adding a service charge to the bill which turned out to be a server gratuity but if you didn't check your bill and seen it you would have still left a tip on top of that. I noticed that it was no longer on the bill this time around so there must have been complaints. I won't be going back to this restaurant again. Buyer beware
