Stopped in while visiting a family member in Sayre Hospital. Good atmosphere & good food.

Grrrrr! I specifically asked for the soup first and then the meal, so that I could enjoy a hot soup followed by a hot dinner. 20 minutes later all of the food came out together. The server's excuse was "that's what they do, soup goes on last", even though I was clear on that. Anywho. Pulled pork sandwich was on the small side and too salty to actually finish. The French onion soup was passable at best. The shining star was the Italian egg rolls. Ham/pepperoni/mozzarella deep fried in dough. Can't imagine being so hungry as to return here for food. My companion and I tried1882 on Desmond for lunch today. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our drink orders were taken and served right away. I ordered the Black Bean Veggie Burger with a side of Cucumber Tomato Salad. My companion ordered the Boss Burger with Chili Cheese Sidewinders. Our meals were served quickly and were hot and delicious! I especially liked the fresh avocado on my sandwich. My companion loved the large portions! We will definitely return to 1882 soon! My wife and I stop in here the other day. What a really nice looking place inside. We sat ourselves and a min later our waitress gave us menu's. The menu is not huge but there's a really good variety of things. I had the boss burger and onion rings and we got 10 garlic parma wings and my wife built her own burger and got sidewinder fries. My only negative is it did take longer then I thought it should for our burgers. But it was worth the wait. My boss burger was awesome. Love the pulled pork on it and the onion ring the bbq sauce was really good on it. My wife said her burger is exactly what she wanted and cooked perfectly. Very happy with the food and the service. Yes absolutely we will go back. And the night we were there they had a trivia night that was pretty cool. read more

We were in route from Westchester to the finger lakes and hungry for lunch. I checked my always reliable Yelp for a place along our route! 1882 on Desmond came in on top as a nearby place to try. So glad we did. It is very nondescript from the street but dont let that fool you. We were greeted warmly by the owner and seated quickly. We were given menus and our drink order was promptly taken! My husband ordered the crispy fried chicken sandwich with fries and I decided on the crab cake sandwich with the tomato and cucumber salad as a side. My husband loved his sandwich , I enjoyed mine just wish the crab cake was a little firmer in the center. The owner gave us some background on the historic building, he took possession of it in Feb of 2020 and was supposed to open St Patrick's day and then of course Covid happened. We encourage everyone in the area or traveling through to give it a try! Also know there is a nice bar scene after dinner! Would recommend to the owners to get a menu board for outside so passerby's can see that it is much more than a bar! Tough to see that from afar! The word "grill" is not jumping out at you. Stopped in for dinner and drinks the other night, and really enjoyed everything we had! Their chicken wings are cooked perfectly, and they have a variety of sauces to choose from. My friend enjoyed her build your own burger, and the loaded sidewinder fries. Huge portion sizes too! I also recommend their 1882 Mule with blackberry flavor, very refreshing. Looks like they have a decent selection of craft beer on tap as well. Our server was friendly, and the building is very nice on the inside too. Clean and has a nice vibe. We will be back!! read more

It was my first time at 1882, and it won't be the last.... Brunch was wonderful- the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the servers were upbeat & friendly. I had the Heuvos Rancheros- it was awesome- my friend said she wished she had gotten the same thing, but was put-off by being unfamiliar with the dish. Go for it, be adventurous - especially if you have a GF need, as I do. The home fries were the best I've had in a long time.... The pictures on the online menu look NOTHING like the food that you get, on delivery, anyhow! My three crab cakes for over $13.00 were three, small, meatball sized, balls of smooshed, damp breadcrumbs. I had to throw them in the garbage! The crab bisque soup was like milk with a slight crab flavor and two bits and i mean BITS of some sort of fish. The five wings were actually two and a half wings. I guess if you cut them in half you can call them five wings. I paid over $65 for a horribly, disgusting, disappointing meal! That was the first and LAST time that we will order from this place. We stopped after a football game to grab a bite to eat. The outdoor seating was available, so we briefly were inside to let the waitress know we were sitting down (1:05 pm). We put up the table umbrella and waited a few minutes (1:10). The waitress came, took our drink order and said he would be back, which took just a couple more minutes. We asked for a couple different items on the menu and she stated they didn't have them. We settled on a couple of burgers and some fries. (1:20). In the meantime, a few people left from inside and another couple came to a picnic table outside. The waitress came and took their drink and food order promptly. Around 1:40, I got up and walked around a little. I decided to walk inside to see what was the hold up. Upon entering, there was a young couple with a child (who was restless). No one else was inside the restaurant. She asked if I had come in to ask about the whereabouts of our order as well, they had the same question. The waitress came out of the back, shaking her head and behind her was what I believe was one of the cooks. We asked the waitress what was the holdup for the food? Not enough help? No, she said, there were two cooks in the back. The other cook said he was sorry it was taking so long. (1:55). There were six people waiting for an hour for their food, at lunch time no less. Around 2:15 we decided to just cut our losses and left. Too bad, hubby is an amazing tipper! read more

MUST READ!!!!! Visited the establishment last night on 09/12/21 for our anniversary with our 2 and a half year old.. one of THE WORST experiences I've ever had!!!! Bartender/server had 4 patrons at the bar at the time we entered and ordered. Long story short...he never placed my order and the ONLY way we found out was by asking another (excellent) waiter who then took care of it, brought it out and brought us the check. By the time I received my food, my husband and son were completely done eating and my little guy was getting tired/cranky. HERE'S THE WORST PART - the waiter/bartender who forgot never came to admit/apologize that he dropped the ball nor did he check back on our table once...he was too busy bullshitting with the bar patrons and watching football on TV.... I FOUND OUT HE WAS THE MANAGER. We will NEVER return. read more
