My husband and I went here last weekend for our date day. The staff were friendly and we were seated within 5 minutes, which is good considering it was pretty busy. We sat on the patio, which was very nice minus some of the extremely loud motorcycles that drove by. Made it difficult for us to hear one another at times. We lucked up and found parking right in front, but if you have trouble finding parking there is a huge parking structure up the street. It's only like a 5 minute walk. There are also free, clean restrooms up there, which we learned after doing some shopping across the street at the Temecula Olive Oil Company (LOVE that place!). Our food was delicious! We both got the 1909 burger, one of the best burgers we've ever had. The reason I'm giving the business 4 stars rather than 5 is due to the service. We were ignored a lot and our waiter didn't know what the special was. He had to ask someone else. Had the service been better, I'd give it 5 stars for sure. Went to this place for the first time Saturday 3/23 for a late night dinner out at the patio. Party of 11. Overall the experience was not pleasant. For It being a go to place in Temecula my expectations were high. Our waiter did not seem very attentive to our large party and she did not seem like she enjoyed her job. A plate was reached for when someone was still eating and she was not asked if she had finished, to me that is not professional. I get It everyone might have their day but keeping a smile and doing your job well is what it's about. The food was pretty good to say the least. The crab and fish empanadas are a MUST HAVE!!!!! They are delicious. If you're looking for something with good taste and light, the fish tacos are good. It's three fish tacos with your choice of fries or salad on the side. Not for the feint of heart. This is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere, let alone in Temecula. I was looking forward to my favorite 1909 burger. The walk from the parking garage was scary enough - apparently there is no COVID in Temecula according to the lack of masks being worn (not 1909's fault) but when I got to the restaurant, it was a free for all. Absolutely NO social distancing, very few masks, employees wearing masks pulled down under their noses. The definition of a COVID SUPER SPREADER. Lox and drinks were great. Chorizo skillet didn't have much chorizo. Mostly the flavor from the chorizo grease but still good. Cajun Shrimp Benny was extremely good. I must say, I've been to this restaurant many many times and it's never been this amazing. Here are a few reasons why I enjoyed this visit. The host was fast and friendly! Our server Dylan was so knowledgeable about the menu and he was very funny and friendly as well. He deserves 6 stars and a high 5. I suggest on your next visit you try the Korean Fried chicken, although I'm not a huge fan of the drum stick. I wasn't a big fan of the cauliflower. The mussels were tasty and very savory, which I love, but I probably wouldn't have it again. We also ordered the deviled-eggs were a good addition to our meal. I come here for the whisky and other cocktails. There isn't much in Temecula in regards to impressive bars or restaurants, but 1909 is an exception. My favorite is the cedar smoked old fashioned because I get it every time I go there. The food is good as an accompaniment to the alcohol haha. I recommend French fries and shrimp tacos, the pulled pork seems to be a hit with friends as well. There is plenty of seating inside or opt for outside for some nice people watching. read more

I am so disappointed with this 1909. We were there a couple of weeks ago. First things first. Our waiter was wearing a mask but kept their nose exposed. I'm pretty shocked since this place has had to close down in the past due to employees being infected. Our hamburgers arrived barely lukewarm which was surprising since it was not that busy. Ordering a drink and have it arrive while you still want it seems to be too much to ask as well. Where are we eating for breakfast? It is usually a question that is asked with little regard for the outcome. 9 times out of 10 it will come back with a reply of that cafe that has coffee or that shop with the waffles or that diner with that scramble. A usual list of places that are good but not memorable. 1909 Temecula, I will remember you. I will remember you as a place that changed my breakfast perceptions and elevated some conventional dishes that had put me in a breakfast lull. Biscuits and sausage gravy was hearty and delicious. Biscuit was light and fluffy where the side of the fork cut like a knife. Ask for one more scoop of gravy. There should always be more gravy needed then not enough. They come with perfectly fried home potatoes and fried eggs. Puncture the yolk and the plate runneth over with opportunities to coat every bite with a little eggy goodness. The real mind blower was the Banana Kahlua french toast. I couldn't figure out if I was eating breakfast or dessert. Sweet and savory, syrupy and briochey. This thing had it all going on. And yes, there is alcohol in the whipped cream. We ordered bloody mary's all around the table. They come with your choice of vodka and at 7.50, they are a pretty good deal. I had to go for the carnivore. Bacon infused vodka, bacon strips, chicken wings, and Gruyere cheese. I guess it is supposed to also come with a bacon straw but they were out. It was 15 and good, but I would probably just order two of the regulars next time. They are a better bang for the buck. Service was good. People happy to see us on our way in. We found this place walking down town. It looked busy and smelled great so we stopped in. We sat on the patio. Everything in this place is made of metal, which looks cool but the metal chairs on the patio are not comfortable and very heavy so not easy to move. The food was fantastic!! I so want to give 1909 a high rating but I honestly can't. I have visited this business many times and I receive different service each time. They are inconsistent with their service and the last time I visited just proved my point. I insisted on visiting 1909 to celebrate a life event with some co worker. Problem # 1, our waiter went on break shortly after we had ordered an appetizer. She introduced us to our new waiter who then took our food order on a small piece of paper. Problem # 2, The new waiter came back 20-25 minutes later saying that he lost our order and that we would have to place our order again. He does don't even bring a menu with him do that we could refresh our memory as to what exactly we ordered. After thinking about what we had ordered for a moment or two, our waiter apologized and said that the kitchen would make our order now. We all were upset, because we girly that about this time was when we should have received our order. We had also ordered two appetizers, and it takes time for each one to be made. Go figure on the wait time for those on top of not receiving our order. Problem # 3, When the waiter drops off the food, we are told that we were going to receive 30% off of our meal. But when the bill came, it was not itemized and we were not convinced that 30% was taken off because we didn't get a chance to look at the menu again or received an itemized bill. Lastly e asked if the bill could be broken up by what we ordered, and we were told that we could not receive the 30% discount if we split the bill. "What? we thought. I ended up paying for the bill and apologizing to my coworkers who were trying to celebrate me and my engagement. I will NEVER go there again! Not to celebrate, not to eat there, nothing. The last time, was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Two stars for the food being delicious. I took one star off for each instance that there was a problem. Hmmm where do I start.. the staff was polite and accommodating. The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was very chill and across from a place that had a dj with loud fun music. They have a snack menu that was great for just a small bite before dinner, it wasn't as large as an appetizer so I wasn't full. Do yourself a favor and check out the oysters and fried deviled eggs. The empanadas looked great but they had shrimp and I'm allergic. The food for the most part was cooked to perfection. The exception was about half of my fries were over cooked.
