Classic hole in the wall Chinese restaurant that's serves excellent food. Booths could use a bit of repair but we are there for food. Lots of options on the menu including soup. We came from the noodles and soup dumplings and they did not disappoint. Service was quick and food came out staggered which is typical for Chinese restaurant. Will be back

yummm, this was a really good and filling meal. i liked everything we ordered. they had us switch tables after we ordered so that it would be big enough to hold all the food we ordered LOL. we kind of went at a random time and it was still very busy. we didn't have to wait for a table, but i would think during prime dinner time you would have to. would definitely go back

I'm visiting from California and this place is so good. I am actually mad that I don't have it where I live. Every single dish had so many subtle layers of flavor with super fresh ingredients and it all came out very fast and incredibly hot and crispy. The service was amazing. They refilled our water constantly and brought scissors without us, even asking to cut the noodles to make it easier for our kids. I really can't say enough if I lived anywhere close to here this would be my regular spot and I will come all the time.

This place was one of the places that opened on Christmas eve. It was perfect for a rainy day. We ordered beef roll and Lanzhou Beef Noodles. Both were very good and very tasty but also salty for my taste. Payment accepted ApplePay or cash Parking street PayByPhone along Seymour St

We saw this place while walking on Davie street. I love noodles so I had to go. A must try if you're ever in the area. Small mom and pop shop. . Lots of locals go here. I would say get what the locals get, but the Szechuan noodles were soooo good. Make sure you don't wear a white shirt while eating it. Everyone was friendly. Really good portion size. We will return when we go back to Vancouver. Parking: street parking or just walk and take metro transit.

i decided to try happy noodle house on davie street after seeing so many positive reviews, including a 4.6 star rating on yelp. i also learned that the chef is formerly from peaceful restaurant, which raised my expectations given peaceful's reputation for hand pulled noodles and northern chinese cuisine. i dropped in at around 4:30 pm and spent a few minutes looking over the menu before deciding on what to order. apparently their wonton soup does not come with noodles, which caught me slightly off guard. a picture prominently featuring a roast chicken was unavailable, and the lamb skewers are available but served without skewers. i ordered takeout and chose the yang chow fried rice and the wonton soup. it didn't take long for the food to be cooked. it looked and smelled appetizing, which made me feel optimistic. the yang chow fried rice appeared colourful and hearty, with shrimp, bbq pork, scrambled egg, peas, carrots, corn, and green onions. the portion was generous, and the rice grains were nicely separated. while it was filling, the bbq pork wasn't properly bbq'd, flavour was milder than expected and slightly oily, lacking the depth we personally prefer. the wonton soup came with several plump wontons in a clear broth, topped with green onions and a piece of fried tofu. the wrappers were soft, and the filling was missing shrimp and had a lot of mystery fillers. the broth was light and subtle, which may appeal to those who enjoy a more delicate flavour profile. for our tastes, however, it felt somewhat underseasoned. overall, i can understand why this restaurant has built a loyal neighbourhood following, especially for its fresh noodles and good value. however, we had hoped for a bit more depth and boldness in flavour. while our experience did not fully meet our expectations, those who prefer lighter flavours and generous portions may appreciate it more than we did. still on the hunt for truly standout, authentic chinese comfort food in the downtown area.

This was a real find! It is small and nothing fancy but the food and service were amazing! We had spicy pork wontons, steamed boa buns and beef noodle with hand pulled noodles. It was so hard to choose. Everything looked amazing. I wish we had more time in Vancouver so we could try more.

I passed by this noodle house many times and been curious. We ordered 2 items, Pork ribs soup noodles and tantan noodles The texture of the noodles was excellent and the broth of the pork ribs noodles was great. However the pork ribs were somewhat dried from the cooking process The flavor of tantan noodles and the texture of the noodles was amazing. however the sauce felt a bit greasy and mouthfeel was oily

    Hot and sour noodle soup!

Every time I visit Vancouver, I make a trip to my favorite Chinese restaurant, their hand pulled noodles are so delicious and the texture is just the way I like it. I order the hot and sour noodle soup with pork, never seen a combination of hot and sour soup and noodles anywhere else. The prices are so reasonable, and a great value. Can't wait to visit again!

Pretty good and prices are excellent for this area. Enough to share. I walk here so don't know much about parking. Service is fine as we order, get our food, water gets refilled, eat, pay, and leave. Busy shop otherwise quiet, not much ambiance.

    Hot chili noodles

Beelined it here after getting off a flight with a strong craving for hot noodles. Was an off peak time on a weekday, so we had the small place to ourselves for at least a few minutes. Ordered the hot chili noodles, fried green beans (spicy), and fried pork dumplings. Normally, the two of us would not order nor finish this much food, but we were feeling pretty hungry. To our own surprise, we absolutely devoured everything. The noodles were amazing - great flavor, fresh, and spicy but not TOO spicy. The green beans were great as well. Should we have gotten another spicy dish on top of the noodles? Maybe not, but no regrets as we ate them up. Normally my favorite part, the fried pork dumplings actually were ranked 3rd in this lineup because the other two just shined that much more. Get the noodles if you come here!

The Beef Noodle soup was ok but not as flavourful as Red Beef for example. It lacked a bit of kick. The meat was a little too soft for my taste but its very personal. I did see some other very interesting dishes so I will be back to try those and give a better verdict. Service was good and its a very big place despite what it looks like on the outside.

We ate what would normally be a $100-$125 US meal for under $80 US. It was awesome. We got so much food - it was ridiculous. We ate quite a bit and saved the rest for leftovers. The servers were super nice and sweet. Very family friendly. We found our new go-to spot in Vancouver, B.C. Also, if you give it a little time the parking isn't too bad. Dinasty also stays open a little later than most restaurants in town, making this a viable option when in a pinch for food but running late in the day. Will absolutely go back next time in town. Thanks for having us. Comparable to Dough Zone or Din Tai Fung, somewhere right in between with quality and cost. Everything was yummy.

As a high end restaurant, the food quality was below average. However, what truly disappointed me was the poor service. Even though the restaurant was not busy, the dishes were served very slowly. The first 2 dishes came out fast, but the later 2 dishes came out after 45 min. When we asked for additional rice and water, we had to wait an unusually long time. Throughout the meal, we felt neglected. It was hard not to feel that the level of service was noticeably indifferent, possibly because we did not order any high-priced seafood or premium dishes. For a restaurant at this price point, the service was simply unacceptable. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I would not return and would not recommend it.
