Got my front control arms and bushings replaced here about 6 months ago and was told my tires didn't need to be realigned, despite other mechanics suggesting they did. Was told the other places were trying to rip me off. My front tires have worn down an incredible amount since then and need to be replaced, despite being only 2 years old with 20k miles on them they need to be replaced, while the rear tires are still solid. Don't recommend this place unfortunately, and will be telling my family/friends to stay away. It's too bad as I live quite close by and they seemed nice. read more

My old mechanic retired recently, and I've been searching for a new, trustworthy garage. I took my car to another repair shop in Philly for an inspection, and was told that my motor mounts were bad and it would be almost $1k to fix. Thinking that quote was high, I called Dom's for an estimate. I had never been there before. He had an opening the next day, inspected the car, and found that nothing was wrong, there were no bad mounts! And, his inspection fee was a bit less than the other place. Fair prices, fast service, and I really appreciate that Dom and his team value people enough to tell the truth.  Next time I need auto repair or maintenance done, I'll most likely go back to Dom's. Great guy, fast work, great service. I called this morning and asked if I could bring my Ford Focus in for an inspection and Dom was very friendly on the phone. Brought it in and quickly saw that I was going to need tires. The car ended up needing quite a few things, but Dom got me a good price and got it all done in just a few hours. He even fixed my wiper fluid nozzle for free, vaccuumed out my front seats and "refreshed" my AC. Overall, he was very helpful and fast. Highly recommended. read more

Dom is absolutely wonderful. I went in because I needed new brakes and rotors, and he had me in and out in two hours. He explained everything that needed to be done in detail and even let me come back to see where my rotors were worn. He fixed a serious problem that an oil change at Meineke caused, and he was honest and upfront about everything. His prices are great, and he doesn't gouge you with labor costs. Had a flat a couple months ago; sidewall rendered the tire useless (thanks pothole). Call to Dom's the next morning, got me in and out in under 90 minutes with a new tire. Spare was put back in the trunk, wheel lock in the console...clean and easy. Highly recommend and I'll be back. read more

Couldn't be nicer and quick. Caught Dom's on a slack day and I was able to wait for my car while they did a PA inspection. That never happens! I could tell immediately that Dom looks after his customers as his primary mission. He could not be any fairer in terms of his pricing and what great customer service! He went over the inspection with me and laid out my options for the return date on the sticker. No one ever did that for me either and there have been times when repair shops have shorted me on the length of the sticker date. I had one shop put a ten month sticker on the car which I didn't notice until it expired prematurely. I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to have a car serviced here. There is a good reason why Dom gets so many superlatives with his reviews. I don't usually rave about a business but Dom's gets a 10 out of 10! read more

I feel the need to update this review since it's been over a year since we were lucky enough to meet Dom. I still can't say enough good things about Dom and his mechanics. I've been in and out of his shop several times in the past year, mostly for normal preventative maintenance and to fix a few small issues. Both cars are well over 100,000 miles, which is not a problem at all if you have Dom taking care of you. It is an amazing comfort to know that he always has your best interest at heart and really wants the best for his customers. You will need no further proof than sitting in his office and observing his interactions with customers. It is extremely obvious that each one has an indescribable respect, admiration and love for this truly genuine guy. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. Dom and his staff are everything you would want a service shop to be. I just moved to South Philadelphia, and looked to Yelp when I thought my van's battery was dying. I saw all of the great reviews for Dom's, and gave him a call at 8:45am. I was at his garage by 9:15, and the technicians realized that, in addition to the battery, the larger problem was a bad starter. They were able to order the starter, and replace both it and the battery in less than 2 hours. The entire time, Dom was extremely helpful in explaining what they were doing, and why they were doing it. The price was extremely reasonable, and the pride and expertise Dom and his crew bring to their work is a total pleasure to be involved with. I drive around 40,000 miles a year, and go through new vehicles every few years. I've had every conceivable thing break, and have been at garages all over the United States and Europe. I would put Dom's in the top of my list, and as long as I'm living anywhere near Philadelphia, I'll never go anywhere else. THANK YOU, guys. I've used Dom's twice for an inspection, oil change and other small repairs. Whenever I call, Dom can work on my car the next day. They complete the work quickly and always call if what they find is different than what I expect. Last year, my car was making some strange noises but it is over 10 years old, so I explained that I did not want to put a huge amount of money into it if the problem was significant. It ended up being belts and Dom replaced them. He walked me through my bill step by step, explaining every charge from parts to labor. I always feel like Dom wants my business and I can trust him. Deeply regret Dom retiring and no longer owning this business. I called and made an appointment for State Inspection, oil change, etc. a week ago. Showed up at exactly 8AM today and was told that they had no record of an appointment. But the woman sitting behind the desk remembered our conversation and acknowledged that she spoke with me last week. The person that I assume is the "New Owner" was not at all apologetic and told me that I would have to leave the car for hours because they were busy and didn't have the proper equipment and would have to send it somewhere else. I expected to sit and read for the usual 1 to 2 hours that it took Dom to service my vehicle. I understand a learning curve when you assume and take over an existing business. But I don't understand lack of customer service. My Loyalty was to Dom for almost 20 years. It won't be easy finding a replacement. They should rename the business so that no one thinks they are dealing with the original and the BEST. read more
