Believe the reviews: Dom is the honest mechanic you have been looking for. He saved me $800 and treated me like family. The work was super fast, too! I'm a little incredulous about the whole experience to be perfectly honest... So here's the full story: I am the prototypical young female who knows close to diddly-squat about cars, yet has always felt comfortable taking it to the dealer (What can I say? They have Saturday hours, and in my ignorant-car-logic, perhaps I thought that they would have good connections to cheap parts? Not so much). But I didn't feel so comfortable after they quoted me $1,300 in repairs to pass inspection with an additional $800 in recommended repairs. A friend had been raving about Doms for years, so I decided to bring it in on my way to work to check him out. Even though he had a full day of work lined up, he agreed to look at my car and come up with some quotes. He confirmed that he could do it for a much better price (and that many of the suggested repairs were BS), and scheduled a time for me to come back in later that week. I arranged a full day off (since I'm used to working with the dealership, after all...) and wouldn't you know, the car was done by 10am. He even threw in a bunch of work for free. The lack of weekend hours might be the only reason for me to deduct any stars on my review; however, everything else about Dom's MORE than makes up for it. Seriously - go here. I thought I was going to need a new Tie Rod and an alignment based of an estimate from a Midas. I contacted Dom's over yelp and got a quote that was much better than what the Midas was offering. When I took the car in to be serviced, Dom's found I didn't need the Tie Rod. Ultimately, I only needed the alignment so I really didnt get a major repair from them, but I certainly intend to go to them first next time I do need something. I brought my vehicle to Dom's to have my brakes checked last week due to an annoying, awful sounding squeal that it would make every time I applied the brakes. My sports van was sounding like a big, old rusty bus before Dom resurfaced my rear brakes drums and cleaned and adjusted my rear brakes. Every other place insisted that my front brakes were the problem and that they needed replacing; complete malarkey. Haven't heard any squealing since Dom fixed the problem and the price was very reasonable. He's a genuine guy who did an awesome job. I will do business there again. read more

I am absolutely blown away by the genuine kindness extended to me by Dom. Only 2 days ago my front left tire had to be patched for a puncture. I have been trying to budget for the last several months after a big career change and lately have been dealing with a lot of car trouble. The bills just pile on. To my chagrin this morning I discovered a huge bolt stuck in my other front tire! Looked up the nearest auto shop, and mind you I am a half hour from home, so I chanced upon Dom's and he plugged my tire within 5 minutes. He only charged me $15, I did not have enough cash as I normally only use my credit card so he said just to bring it back when I had the chance. This man and I are perfect strangers, yet he extended this kindness to me and I am currently going to an ATM so I can get back right away and pay. Dom IS absolutely wonderful - not only can (and did) he kick in a door when his neighbor's (and my friend's) house is on fire last year, but he does great work, in good time and for a great price. Staying at my friend's place across the street from him on a little Philly vacation, I stopped into his shop for a simple oil change in preparation for a cross-country road trip. He did the oil change in no time, and also let me know that, since I was going to be driving it all the way to LA, he thought I needed new rear tires. He didn't push the sale on me at all, but I knew he was totally right. I gave him the go-ahead and he got me a fantastic deal on two brand-new tires. The oil change, the tires, and tire rotation only took a couple of hours and I was set to go before noon. On top of that, my check engine light came on (for an on-going problem I've had with the car) the Friday before I was to leave for my trip. Really nervous I wouldn't be able to get the car fixed in time for my weekend departure and happy with the service I got from him earlier in the week, I knocked on his door at 6:15am and asked if he could squeeze me in. He said he was definitely busy that day, but wound up looking at the car right away (even before any of his staff was there, it seemed) and had the problem fixed before 8:30am. He was so generous with his time (knowing I was planning on leaving before he opened again on Monday) and he did the work for a VERY reasonable price. New to the area and needed to get my son's car inspected. To be honest, I was concerned about finding a reputable place to get the inspection done. After searching Yelp and talking on the phone several times to Dom (which he was very patient to answer my questions), I felt this was the place to go. He was straight forward in terms of when I should get there to avoid a long wait. Upon arriving it reminded me very much of a repair place we use back home and also had a sense of family and attention to detail that I appreciated. It started by a simple inspection which turned into a nightmare. After the inspection was done, I asked for a oil change he downright raised his voice and talked down to me because I didn't ask him before. During the oil/fluid change, one of his mechanics told us that we needed new tires. Dom called a few places and was quoted around $180 to $190 (he didn't mention if it was each or at least write up a grand total), but when we got the bill it was $760 on the set of tires! We were shocked and angered! Again he never mentioned the tires were $190 each or mention a total; otherwise, I would've told him not to change the tires. $190 for all four tires sounded ok, but it wasn't the case. For someone who doesn't know car repair and parts prices, it is a good idea to learn and know. Everything including inspection, oil/filter change, taxes, new tires and added charges came out to $924 in the end. I called up the office to explain what happened, but Dom rudely told me off and hung up the phone. Not very professional. Dom also has a bad temper and he will talk down to you and treat you like a kid. On several occasions I have been talked down to by him when asking for additional services or booking appointments in the past. read more

Appreciated mechanic took their initiative on fill up my tire pressure, but me and my wife felt some noise and stiffness when driving down highway with outside temperature above 90 in these tires and found out that they overinflated my tire to 40 psi in the rear and 35 in the front while spec called for 30 front and 34 rears!!! More critical concern for me was synthetic oil they changed wasn't meant for my mercedes benz c300 as it should be 0w-40 (euro formula) not 0w-30. I am so happy that I found Dom's! What a nice guy and a truly honest mechanic. After a harsh winter, I found my windshield wipers weren't working properly. They would get stuck on one another and someones only one would work (obviously the passenger side...great...). I called around to a few places and when I tried to explain that my windshield wipers were broken (no, it's not just the blades, the motor "kind of" works) most people didn't seem willing to help or just flat out told me, take it to the dealer. I'm over the ridiculous prices that Audi dealers charge for repairs, so I really wanted to avoid that. I found Dom's on Yelp and the reviews don't lie. When I called Dom he told me he had a hunch about what the problem was, but couldn't be sure...and to bring in the car and he'd take a look. Next morning I stopped by before work. Within 5 minutes he came back, said the problem was just what he thought, and his guys would have it fixed in a few minutes. He didn't charge me anything! What?!?! Literally, told me to come back when my car needed service. And I did, of course. Went there a few months later for an oil change and again I was very happy with the service. When I went to pick up my car, it was all vacuumed inside (what a pleasant surprise) and the price was totally reasonable. I found Dom's on Yelp and decided to give him a call. I asked if I could stop by as there was a noise under my car as I was driving. He said come right over. I walked in and within minutes they had my car on the lift. I had a few minutes to talk to Dominic while waiting for my car to be fixed. He was so nice and comforting. Talk about great service! Hard to find these days but it is guaranteed here. Realized my inspection was almost expired so gave them a call, was able to drop it off the next morning. Very friendly staff that make you feel comfortable with the process. My car was ready to be picked up about an hour later! And they even gave it a vacuum! Great price, very reasonable. Dom is the most honest and genuine mechanic I have ever met! He was recommended to me by 2 very good friends who had such wonderful things to say about him and his work. The first time I brought my car to him I was sure it needed a tune-up. He straight up told me that the car did not need a tune-up and he was in no way going to sell me something unnecessary. He is straight forward about what you need and explains everything in detail. His work is meticulous and he takes great pride in what he does. Every time I bring the car in the work is done so quickly. His prices are very, very fair. I highly recommend you call Dom if you need any kind of car repair done. I don't have any reviews, but I use yelp all the time. That being said, Dom gets my first review in a while + 5 stars. Called last minute for an oil change. In and out in 20-30 minutes. I just started taking my car to Dom this year and he's been great: he always gives me a detailed report on what he did and what he thinks is wrong and just generally seems very straightforward, which is such a relief in an auto shop. For any new parts, he's priced them and called me with a quote before he does the work - too many places forget the most important step of calling you so you can decide whether you can afford the work. He's good at accurately gauging how long something will take, so you can be prepared to not have your car for an afternoon or just 45 minutes. He also keeps good records on your car, so if you're like me and you forget when you should next check your brakes or something else, Dom will look it up and tell you. Trust these reviews! Dom is amazing!! My husband and I have been looking for a new mechanic for a while (though our's was nice, they were becoming unreliable, ie: we'd make appointments and they would cancel last minute & repairs would take a very long time). I decided to use Dom after reading these Yelp reviews, and I'm not lying when I say they are spot on. Just to give you an idea, I am a 30 year old woman (who doesn't know much about cars!) and when I first called Dom to make an appointment for our annual inspection he was super nice and didn't make me feel intimidated at all (like many have!). When we showed up he was extremely friendly and funny! He called my husband after doing the inspection and explained everything. He went through the cost and didn't do anything without our approval. Dom doesn't use a middle man and he was able to get parts and do all repairs THAT DAY (we dropped the car off at 9:30 and got our car back by 3...Just in time to watch the semi-final World Cup match!) I HIGHLY recommend this auto repair shop. I had JUST gotten my car out of another shop when my car started making a grinding noise - I feared it was the transmission. Dom's shop had terrific reviews online so I decided to give him a try. He answered the phone when I called at 4:00pm and listened patiently as I explained what happened. He told me to bring it in the next morning. That morning he greeted me, remembered me by name, and took me and my car for a ride around the block to hear the noise. He told me he though it was the breaks, would get the car on the lift and have his guys check it out more thoroughly. Roughly 30 minutes later he called to tell me in detail what was going on with my breaks and 2 hours later I picked up my car in perfect condition.
