Friendly Service - Cashier and Owner were very friendly Good Food - Food was delicious Good Value - You get a lot of food Apparently this place has been around for several years and we are now just discovering it. I work down the street from this place, but it never showed up on Yelp for me, so hopefully this post gets more attention. Lots of options for vegetarians and some for gluten-free eaters too. My friend ordered an orange chicken bowl, which looked really good. I asked for the same thing, but to substitute it with Tofu. It wasn't on the menu, but they honored my request. It was really good! It's hard to find a lot of good Tofu dishes, so if you are Tofu eater like myself, then you should give this place a try.

The food at this small little restaurant was delicious! I had garlic noodles with beef filet. The noodles were slightly chewy and slightly garlicky. The beef filet was so tender! Others in our party got fried rice with bulgogi beef and fried rice with beef filet. You can't go wrong with the garlic noodles or fried rice. I will say, however, if choosing between bulgogi beef and filet, I think the filet is the way to go! They also offer boba drinks. Service was friendly. Clean and well kept. Inside seating is limited.

Nice little mom and pop boba shop that offers great food! I ordered the orange chicken with garlic noodles. My vegan friend wanted to try the orange chicken sauce on top of the tofu, and the owner was more than happy to accomodate his request. He actually chatted with us for a while and told us about the history of the restaurant, which opened during the height of Covid. I will be back!

What a gem! We found 194 Eatery through the Yelps when we needed a bite to eat before a matinee show at the La Mirada Performing Arts Center, and what a find it was! Now, it's tradition to stop by whenever we have a show in the area. We've had the beef bulgogi, pad see ew, garlic noodles with shrimp, and orange chicken. The food here is surprisingly solid! For a small store that serves food in plastic to-go containers, the flavours are pretty good! We haven't tried their drinks yet, though. Staff is super friendly, and the owners are cute. We love supporting small, family, and local businesses, and this place checks all the boxes! It's run by a couple, and the husband is the chef. We couldn't figure out why it was called 194 Eatery, but after some conversation with the nice lady, we learned that this number was chosen because it was her husband's weight. That's a fun fact if I've ever heard one! 194 Eatery is located in a small shopping area with a small parking lot. There are a few seats inside, and we've only seen it fill up once. Great prices for decent portions!

I got the garlic noodles with sliced beef. It was good! It's a little on the greasy side cause of the beef but still good! The service was very good, very nice and friendly. Would recommend for garlic noodle lovers!

This place is such a cute mom and pop spot. Kpop was playing on the speakers and there was plenty of seating. My friend and I came here after work and we ordered the orange chicken with rice, cheesy bulgogi fries, black milk tea, and mango yakult. I think our personal favorite was the orange chicken with rice!! Super delicious. I can't wait to come back to try the other dishes and drinks. The owner was super sweet when she took our orders at the cash register. I think there's a $5 minimum to use credit card fyi but that was fine because we ordered way more! While we sat waiting, our food was brought out to us hot and fresh. Thank goodness they were already in takeout containers because we couldn't finish the food. It was delicious as leftovers the next day. Definitely will be coming back!!

Tasty food! We ordered the beef garlic noodles, shrimp bowl, and beef bowl. They have a pretty decent selection of bobas. All of our food came out good. Drinks were yummy. We'd come back again. Oh and we loved the popcorn chicken! Service was great, they were friendly.

So happy to stumble upon this little gem! I drive by everyday coming from work and I finally stopped by to try it out. I was not one bit disappointed. I got the pad see ew, which seems to be a crowd favorite, shrimp fried rice and soy glazed wings. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! Not too salty but savory enough. I really loved it all. The place is clean and the staff is super friendly. It took a while to get my food but I assume it's because everything is made to order. I highly recommend you check them out! Can't wait to come back and try other things.

Came back here again this week for a quick pick up meal, and always a quick and reliable stop. The girl at the front was so sweet answering my questions about their menu as well as showing me to their bathroom in the back (I had to walk through the kitchen to use it and there is a bunch of stuff being stored in there, but hey I'm not one to complain about getting to use it). The drink was pretty well priced considering the inflation of boba drinks and especially fruit drinks, so SO WORTH IT. The chicken pad see ew was alright, 6.5/10- not the best but also was not bad and I would get again considering how convenient it is to get food from here. The chicken wings are not your traditional fried chicken wings but the flavor of the sauce was good; they were a bit dry but not enough to stop me from eating it. There are a few tables and countertop space along the wall for seating. The vibe is very chill inside, a bit homey, 'hole in the wall.' The parking lot is a bit tight but there are usually spots whenever I come by. Overall, the food this time was alright, but for the price and the kind service, I'm happy!

I've been receiving Yelp recommendations regarding this spot so decided to stop by to pick up some food. The spot is conveniently located in a strip mall with ample parking. The restaurant itself has a small dinning area but I was just picking up. The staff were friendly, attentive, and polite and were nice enough to accommodate my order pick up change time. I ordered several items that included chicken fried rice, pad see ew with beef, popcorn chicken with thai chili sauce, fried dumplings, and a thai tea with boba. My favorite was the chicken fried rice, it was delicious and full of flavors. The fried dumplings were perfectly cooked and very tasty. However the other items were good but not totally memorable. In conclusion, 164 Eatery didn't totally disappoint but under succeeded my expectations especially since Yelp kept recommending the spot to me. Maybe next time I drop by I'll get the garlic noodles.

Absolutely delicious anything you get, I would highly recommend the cheesy bulgogi fries to start, some pad see ew whichever protein is yum! Got to get garlic noodles and to drink there's plenty of selections that you can mix n match, my go to is usually a taro with boba. read more

I had a 10/10 first time experience here!! The food is absolutely delicious! I had the filet mignon garlic noodles which were phenomenal. So flavorful and the meat was cooked to perfection. I also had the fried rice and the shrimp garlic noodles and they did not disappoint. What made the experience that much better was the amazing customer service. The woman (who I believe is the owner) was the nicest human ever. So genuinely kind and courteous. Portions are fairly large so it's well worth what you pay. I will 10000% be returning! read more

Our first time here. We ordered the fried rice with chicken, the garlic noodles with the bulgogi, and the orange chicken and rice. We also ordered a strawberry smoothie. Everything we ordered had great flavors. I have a fish and shellfish allergy and they were very thorough with their menu. I appreciate the time they spent explaining what items would be safe to eat. I loved their menu. The menu itself was good looking and everything sounded appetizing. I would have ordered more food if I wasn't in a hurry. Their popcorn chicken wasn't spicy at all. However, the lady gave me some chilli powder. She also gave me some cookies out of nowhere. Popcorn chicken tasted alright. Not the best I've had but I would most likely come back because the staff are so friendly. read more

Just came to this gem during a Yelp search of local restaurants. Wow was I surprised. I ordered the garlic noodles with filet mignon and a sweet cream black tea and both were delicious! I really appreciated that the lady who served my pick up order (today) made my drink when I got there rather than make it ahead of time where it would be watery by the time I got there. It was sweet and considerate. I would share the photos but I ate and drank them too quickly lol. Will be coming again real soon. read more

Unfortunately I couldnt take photos of my food because I didnt expect much before trying it. Howeverrr the first bite I took of the kimchi friend rice was insanely good. IT IS VERY HARD TO MAKE GOOD KIMCHI FRIED RICE. Everytime I try it at other places it tastes mid. But this place is unique. It has like a bulgogi grilled taste in the rice and it isnt super salty. The kimchi is also balanced with the amount of rice. DEF try the kimchi fried rice. My friend ordered this and I got the orange chicken with rice. I ended up ordering a kimchi fried rice to take home. The orange chicken is also rlly good. Its crispy and sweet and tangy. The chicken is clean and not dry at all. This is a tidy, clean place with delicious food tucked away in this strip mall on the east side of Valley View and the south side of Imperial, so close to home. I had the delicious boba milk tea, which they adjusted according to my needs (no sugar, my own Sweet n Low), and the food was great, freshly prepared from very obviously fresh ingredients. We shared a generous portion of orange chicken, made from scratch, with a side of veggies, and, plenty of rice for the two of us. I had a large side of freshly sauteed veggies (broccoli, cabbage, celery, etc) with a light, flavorful Asian sauce. We enjoy supporting small, family-owned restaurants. I notice the owner was so attentive to all the customers, and, we could feel the good vibes from the friendly atmosphere. It was a great find for us--close to home, with great food made with care, and very clean. read more

Absolutely amazing! You will not regret going here. Here in La Mirada, it is pretty rare to find an Asian place like this. The menu includes many different flavorful dishes that pack a whole lot for the price. We decided to try this restaurant because of the all the 5 star reviews. DID NOT disappoint! Their fries were AMAZING!! Noodles, boba and tofu were so great. But more than anything I was totally blown away at the owners attention to detail. They were so warm, helpful and just the most pleasant people. Just visited tonight and I ordered a pad see ew with chicken paired with a mango yogurt smoothie and I had no idea what to expect. First off I must say the customer service was amazing, friendly, and dope and they were even able to accommodate to only white meat and no bean sprouts on my pad see ew! I will say I was a little bummed out that the pad see ew did not have that classic sweetness to it but rather it is purely on the savory side. The mango yogurt smoothie tasted like butterscotch with a hint of mango and delicious chopped mangos on the bottom and garnished on top I would recommend if you are looking for something more on the sweeter side although there is not tart or sour flavor in smoothie itself the fruit does give some which balances it out pretty well. Overall I would recommend and I will be coming back to try the bulgogi and orange chicken next. read more

It may not look like much on the outside but the food is really great. Being in the La Mirada "healthier food" dead zone, any place that includes fresh vegetables that isn't Flame Broiler is a bit hard to come by, especially in good quantity, flavor and preparation. The staff was 2 people when I went on a quiet Wednesday afternoon and it was sadly empty inside. Both employees were very kind and helpful. I hope more people discover this little gem so they stay in business. Their teas are really nice and I'm thankful for tofu options! The fried rice dishes are delicious, my friends really loved their garlic noodles and the rice bowls are a generous portion! Definitely worth the price! Give them a try! Sadly they don't have a lot of dairy free options for milk teas but their regular teas are also super nice! read more

Had a long day taking care of my 1 month old twins. So, I didn't have time to cook dinner. Yelped take-out restaurant near me and 194 Eatery came up. I ordered bulgogi fried rice, garlic noodle beef, pistachio smoothie, and taro milk tea. Food was delicious. My favorite out of the order was the garlic noodles and pistachio smoothie. This place is amazing and the mango yogurt and black milk tea boba was so good. We also got the garlic noodle w shrimp and was delicious as well. The owners were very nice and made my 3yr old daughter feel very welcome. And they gave us recommendations and said take your time when we weren't sure what to get. They even gave her a snack for free. Really happy I found this place and will be our new go to boba place and good food too. Thank you Shack! read more

Whenever I'm craving pho, and I don't feel like spending $15+, I always come here since the bowls are a few dollars cheaper. I think they give a little bit less beef, but it's perfect amt for me, and if you want more, it's $5 for an extra serving. Portion is very good for the price, especially in today's economy, where hole in the wall restaurants are trying to charge $18-20 for below avg food. The corn cheese was okay, I don't think I would order it again. It was a little bland in my opining and not enough cheese to corn ratio. I also ordered a mojito which normally comes with 1 flavor but the server was nice enough to combine all four flavors for me and it came out really good. That is where this crosses from bad service into outright shady behavior. We came in as a group for dinner and the experience was mediocre at best. The restaurant was so dark we had to ask for additional lamps, which didn't even stay on. The service button at the table didn't work, so we repeatedly had to flag down the two servers. Water refills were forgotten. Basic attentiveness was missing. Nothing about the service justified anything beyond "okay." Our server eventually replenished our onions and broth, and perhaps that single "heroic" act went to her head- because after we paid and were already heading to our car, she ran out after our group. Our server, ASHLEY ran out to the parking lot to tell me my total was incorrect. I had accidentally written $170 instead of $178 due to a minor handwriting error. Understandable- so I corrected it immediately. That should have been the end of it. But it wasn't. She then had the audacity to question why her tip was "only 7%." I told her the service was just okay and we left. No argument, no scene- but it was already inappropriate and unprofessional to confront customers about their tip in the first place. What's completely unacceptable is what happened next. The finalized charge posted as $188- not the corrected $178. That means she added an extra $10 to my tip without my consent. Let's be clear: that is not a "mistake," that is altering a signed receipt and helping yourself to someone else's money. For context, my intended tip was $14.95- about 10% of the subtotal. More than fair for the level of service we received. Tips are optional, not owed and certainly not something a server gets to revise after the fact because they feel entitled to more. This was downright tacky, dishonest, and a complete breach of trust. I have already filed a dispute with my bank as I have a picture of what I signed before leaving the restaurant and I strongly recommend others check their receipts carefully and document it before leaving as well. But if you are smart, you would avoid an establishment that employs such an abhorrent server with no integrity or shame. Do better.

If you're looking for something simple, balanced, and not overly sweet, I highly recommend Tanners. We decided to try take out for dinner tonight. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back. My husband and I both wanted the garlic noodles and they were really good. He got them with shrimp and it was nice to see that they had so many options: beef, chicken, vegetables, tofu or plain. The portions were great too! The bluegi fries were bomb too. Cheesy and flavorful mixed with really good grilled onions. I would definitely get this again. I was also impressed by their large selection of boba tea and smoothies. I will definitely have to try them next time. A few years ago this used to be a great breakfast and lunch spot (Amy's Cafe) and I was very sad when it closed. Good to see there is at least one more good place now. Vegetarian options: There seemed to be a lot of vegetarian options available. Parking: Free parking right in front. 194 Eatery in La Mirada is a hidden gem! The food is amazing, especially the garlic noodles - they're packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. And if you're a boba fan, their boba is super delicious too! It's a must-try. On top of the great food, the staff is fantastic.
