I've been here a couple of times now and every visit is amazing. Ryan, the owner, is incredibly friendly, funny, and genuinely cares about his guests. He always checks in on us and even surprised us with special off the menu items. The quality of the fish speak for itself. I especially love their yellowtail and toro, which melt in your mouth. I'm not a fan of seared fish but everything I've had here has been delicious. The fish is fresh and never fishy. Their ice cold beers deserve a shout out. They're honestly better than what I've had at many pochas. I'm honestly jealous of people who live nearby who get to eat here whenever they want. This is the kind of place you keep coming back to- not just because of the food but because Ryan and his team make every visit feel special. read more

We Doordashed some sushi because we were home sick. We needed some yummy sushi to help make us feel better and it sure did help! Normally when we do go into the restaurant the ambiance is fun and casual, perfect for date night or a get together with friends. The toro special roll was very tasty. Presentation was gorgeous. The flavor profile had a nice spicy note to it with black pepper and enough sweet/umami (ponzu?) flavor to balance the light heat. The tuna was seared perfectly and very fresh with a melt in your mouth feel. The rest of the food was delicious & served quickly by friendly and attentive staff. 10/10 would come back to this restaurant even though there are several sushi restaurants between my house and this one. read more

This inconspicuous little restaurant tucked in a La Mirada strip mall is a true gem! When you enter, you are greeted by friendly staff and a clean space. We usually come in with our two children under two and they are always so welcoming to us. The sushi is fresh and top quality. We always get the Rose Ball special appetizer with spicy tuna inside and seared salmon outside, the Modern Rock roll which is cucumber wrapped instead of rice, and the Sashimi sampler. Spicy garlic edamame and complimentary miso are also great to start with! Our children love the kid's teriyaki chicken meal with gyoza and we sometimes will share the chicken yakitori as well. What a fantastic experience! I am sad that I did not try this place sooner. I made a reservation for 2 people last Friday at 5:30. The service was wonderful. We were instantly given some complimentary miso soup while we looked over the menu. The server had informed us that the salmon was super fresh and just arrived. We tried so many things! We had garlic edamame, mixed tempura, salmon carpaccio, Philadelphia roll, lovely salmon roll, rainbow roll, and 2 spicy items featuring spicy tuna. Everything was so flavorful!! The lovely salmon roll was my favorite. The lemon was so refreshing with the fresh salmon. The soju drinks were also lovely. We had passion fruit and they let us try the raspberry. Have driven past this place and wanted to give it a try. Tried a dinner bento and some sushi rolls. I have to say that the rolls were ok with some being better than others. The dinner bento was actually quite good and I loved the bbq beef. Prices were very reasonable and quality was good. I'm not going to say it's a top notch sushi restaurant but overall for the price and service I would recommend you give them a try. read more

Me and wifey took out the kiddos to end our Anniversary. We hit up Ginzaya since it was nearby and we haven't tried it yet. Right when we walked in I saw the Chef Specials on the chalkboard in the front. I knew we were ordering both specials, so we got one seared bluefin tuna roll and two NegiToro hand rolls. We also got an order of the crunchy rainbow roll along with gyoza, classic tuna rolls, and a chicken teriyaki kids meal for the kids. Even though they looked short staffed they still hustled and got our food in a timely manner. The seared bluefin tuna roll had a subtle Smokey flavor from the sear and had a nice little kick to it. The NegiToro hand roll had a nice clean taste to it, and was actually my favorite bite of the night. Overall a really good experience, and we'd come back to try more of the menu! read more

We went for dinner on a Friday evening. There is a ton of parking available. The ambiance is simple and quaint. A very comfortable Japanese restaurant. You can tell that they have a lot of repeat customers by the way the staff greets so many of them by name. You can't beat the personal touch. We got mixed tempura which was crispy and light batter with delicious and sweet vegetables and shrimp. Perfect way to start our meal. Next up was a yellow submarine sushi roll. It was almost too pretty to eat. The jalapeños and the yellowtail along with a tropical flower made the roll really stand out. It was refreshing and delicious. The quality of yellowtail told us we weren't going to be prepared for the freshness of the rest of the sashimi and sushi we had ordered. We had the sashimi mix next. Large, thick cut and some of the freshest sashimi ever was in front of us. We added the Toro which was well worth the extra $5. We couldn't get over how each piece melted in our mouths. Last we had the 10 piece sushi mix. The presentation was stunning and once again the freshness of the sashimi was amazing. Dinner was exceptional and the staff was amazingly friendly and welcoming. First time here, but the experience was very disappointing. The service was attentive, but the food during lunch was terrible. The miso soup was overly salty, and the bento items (tonkatsu and tempura shrimp) were overcooked and extremely dry. Even the three pieces of sashimi were tasteless, and I ended up with an upset stomach afterward. I'm not sure if there is a professional chef overseeing the kitchen during weekday lunch hours. Otherwise, it's hard to understand how food of this quality is being served in this area. read more

We have passed this restaurant so many times with the realization that there was this little humble…read morerestaurant in a huge plaza, but never quite remembered to go back to try it. Today was the day, as I was craving sushi and remembered it, so in we went. Zero regrets! Ambiance/Service (3/5): We went around 1 PM on a Saturday and it was surprisingly dead in there; we were the only ones who dined in and there was only one customer picking up an order the entire time we were there. However, it didn't feel awkward. There was a TV playing on medium volume and the older Korean owners were really nice and made us feel welcomed. They gave us two bowls of complimentary miso soup (which our toddlers loved). Food came out relatively quickly. It definitely has mom n' pop vibes which I love. Decor was minimal but clean and the restaurant was well maintained. I think the place would make a nice casual dinner date. Food/Value (4/5): We ordered the udon with 4-piece spicy tuna roll combo, the mixed tempura appetizer, a baked salmon roll and a California roll. The total came out to $51.25. Prices are super fair for what you get, especially if you're craving special rolls or want a little of everything (they have so many combos). I'll review our food specifically below: -Udon & spicy tuna combo (3/5): Udon came in a pretty big bowl with udon, fish cake, green onions, and tempura flakes. Udon was nice and chewy, but the soup itself felt like it could use more depth. My husband wasn't a huge fan of the spicy tuna roll; he noted that the flavor wasn't the best, texture was bit different and the roll itself was loosely packed. He said he'd skip the spicy tuna next time. -Mixed Tempura (5/5): This was delicious. It came crispy and hot, with ten pieces total--2 each of pumpkin, potato, zucchini, carrot, and shrimp. The kids loved it and the sauce complimented it well. -Baked salmon roll (4/5): This was tasty, but it left something to be desired. I guess I'm used to heavier baked rolls with more creamy sauce reminiscent of a rice casserole made into a roll. Their rendition is essentially salmon placed on top of a CA roll with a drizzle of some sort of sweet soy sauce, but it was tasty nonetheless. -California roll (5/5): Awesome price and awesome taste. Loved every bite. I would come again just to order multiple of these. They don't skimp on the filling. Overall, I would give this place a 4 because it was a great lunch experience. We live relatively close, so this might be my go-to sushi craving place in the future. Would definitely come again and support this little mom n' pop shop!

We waited quite a while, assuming it would be brought out, but no one ever checked in on our table. This seems to match other reviews mentioning a lack of staff awareness and attention to customers. The staff appeared to only come by to take orders and drop off checks. We were even seated near the register, yet no one noticed that an entire meal was missing. When it was time to pay, another employee helped us. We had to point out that the ramen never came and ask for it to be removed from the bill. His response was simply, "Sorry about that, let me take it off. Here's your total." There was no real sense of concern, apology, or effort to make the situation right. Mistakes happen, but the lack of communication and customer service is what made this experience so disappointing. Staff could benefit from additional customer service training and more awareness of their guests' needs. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to others.

It is something you need to try if you have yet to do so. The katsu meal itself ($17.95) with the combo (+$7 which includes either kimchi udon, or soba, Tuna roll) iis big on it's own. Also, the shaved cabbage salad is a great compliment to the meal. I'll be back with the family to check out the other offerings here. One downside, the space is tight, so strollers and wheelchairs won't be a comfy fit. However, there were littles here around 7 pm for dinner. All in all, is highly recommend Yoko Donkatsu.

Before it was based on kid's age but now it's by height. I believe if your kid is taller than 51" then they will be charged as an adult now. Elliot and Sophia gave us great service today. This one has Genoa salami, pepperoni, capicola, provolone cheese, also topped with their house slaw. I've only ordered from here through Postmates, and every time their packaging is excellent--they wrap each sandwich in this cute wrapper, which adds a fun touch and keeps everything neatly intact and fresh by the time it arrives. Each sandwich is around $12 (as of June 2026), and I honestly think it's worth the price because these sandwiches are huge and so good!!

The charred cheese paired with the grilled meat creates a lot of flavor and gives the burger a unique twist. Unfortunately, the overwhelming saltiness completely overshadowed everything else for me. That said, there were several things I did enjoy. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated the variety of drink options. The Strawberry Watermelon drink was my favorite. I also liked that they offer multiple dipping sauces for both the fries and burgers. My husband absolutely loved the fries and couldn't get enough of the chipotle sauce. I personally preferred the garlic aioli, and the creamy jalapeño sauce was surprisingly delicious as well--though a little too spicy for me to enjoy more than a taste. Despite my issue with the seasoning, I wouldn't write this place off. I think the burger could be really good with less salt, so we'll probably give it another try and ask if they can go lighter on the seasoning next time.

I was happy they topped it with green onions (flavor was good) 7/10. They also didn't have a teriyaki/soy glaze or house brown sauce, which was disappointing. I tried the katsu sauce instead and that was easily a 9/10. Customer service was decent. Overall, not terrible, but not necessarily great either. I wouldn't drive out of my way or necessarily recommend it.

Normally, we end up at one of our usual big name breakfast spots or make a quick Starbucks run, but this time we decided to switch things up. I have driven past Hygge Coffee countless times on my weekly drive to my daughter's practice and have always been curious about it. We finally decided it was time to stop in, and I am so glad we did. From the moment we walked inside, this place immediately felt different. It is definitely a hole in the wall type of spot, but in the absolute best way possible. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming. The soft colors, lighting, plants, wood furniture, decorations, music, and little details throughout the shop all come together perfectly. There is even a record player tucked into the seating area, which adds even more character. It feels comfortable and relaxing without trying too hard to be trendy. We ordered a vanilla latte, a yuzu tea, and a bulgogi panini. Everything was a 10/10. The vanilla latte was smooth, creamy, and had a nice balance of coffee and vanilla without being overly sweet. The yuzu tea was light, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted after an early morning hike. Then there was the bulgogi panini. This was easily the surprise of the visit. The bread was nicely toasted and crisp on the outside, while the inside was packed with flavorful bulgogi and vegetables. It was warm, savory, filling, and paired perfectly with our drinks. I honestly wasn't expecting a coffee shop sandwich to stand out this much, but I would absolutely order it again. What made the experience even better was the owner. He was extremely welcoming, down to earth, and genuinely seemed excited to have new customers discovering his shop. That kind of interaction makes such a difference, especially at a locally owned business. You can tell there is pride behind the space and the experience they are creating. The shop itself is much larger inside than I expected. There are plenty of tables, including larger tables if you are visiting with a group. Everything was extremely clean, organized, and well maintained. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing enough to sit with a coffee and read, catch up with someone, get some work done, or just enjoy breakfast without feeling rushed. Parking is also easy, with plenty of spaces available, so you don't have to deal with the parking headaches that sometimes come with smaller coffee shops. Hygge Coffee completely changed up our usual post hike breakfast routine, and I think we may have found a new favorite. Great coffee, refreshing drinks, delicious food, a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, easy parking, and an owner who genuinely makes you feel welcome. If you've driven past this place like I had and kept telling yourself that you'll eventually stop in, do it. This is exactly the type of small, local spot that deserves to be discovered and supported. We will definitely be back.

This is my go to spot for whenever I randomly crave sushi. Sushi quality I rate them 3.5-4/5, restaurant cleanliness a 3.5/5, customer service 5/5, menu variety 4/5. I usually go for the all you can eat option. There are 2 options lunch and dinner but I usually go for the dinner all you can eat even at lunch time because they offer 2 rounds of sashimi on the dinner all you can eat. They have a good variety of appetizers, rolls and sake flavors and servers are always helpful with recommendations if you're ever stuck. Good vibes, good energy and would definitely recommend to my friends. read more

This new sushi roll was next level! The presentation alone had us excited -- beautifully plated. The inside was packed with fresh, spicy tuna and cucumber for a satisfying crunch, and the outside featured seared slices of bluefin. Every bite felt like it was crafted with care. First of all, under staffed on a Friday night. Nobody should have to wait 20 min. For a California roll, salmon and the other sushi I had did not look clean, and the fish was room temperature, we ordered 2 baked rolls and the rolls had so much mayo on it I told the server that it had to much mayo and it wasn't good, she looked confused and insulted that we wouldn't eat it, she had a rude smirk on her face and took the plate back, after that our food came out even slower. Great sushi, consistently fresh and extremely tasty! I highly recommend the Japanese Nachos as an appetizer, and the Roseball as well. The white tuna is also extremely good. Basically everything on the menu is delicious, even the sea food salad! When it's busy, the service can be a bit slow. Overall, staff try hard to help out, bit sometimes gets crowded and naturally service will not be as fast. If you can, have a beer and sake while you wait, makes the time go by faster! read more

I went there for quick bite before movie and surprised by how good the sushi was. I tried mountain roll, I love salmon sushi, and seafood yakisoba. Everything was good. I asked for light sauce on all of the food and received exactly what I ordered. The salmon was fresh and tasty. I will definitely comeback. I would not be going back though again because I cannot trust their quality of the food. She seemed friendly at first, but unfortunately our experience quickly went downhill. My husband ordered a ramen dish that never arrived. We waited quite a while, assuming it would be brought out, but no one ever checked in on our table. This seems to match other reviews mentioning a lack of staff awareness and attention to customers. The staff appeared to only come by to take orders and drop off checks. We were even seated near the register, yet no one noticed that an entire meal was missing. When it was time to pay, another employee helped us. We had to point out that the ramen never came and ask for it to be removed from the bill. His response was simply, "Sorry about that, let me take it off. Here's your total." There was no real sense of concern, apology, or effort to make the situation right. Mistakes happen, but the lack of communication and customer service is what made this experience so disappointing. Staff could benefit from additional customer service training and more awareness of their guests' needs. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to others.

Today was the day, as I was craving sushi and remembered it, so in we went. Zero regrets! Ambiance/Service (3/5): We went around 1 PM on a Saturday and it was surprisingly dead in there; we were the only ones who dined in and there was only one customer picking up an order the entire time we were there. However, it didn't feel awkward. There was a TV playing on medium volume and the older Korean owners were really nice and made us feel welcomed. They gave us two bowls of complimentary miso soup (which our toddlers loved). Food came out relatively quickly. It definitely has mom n' pop vibes which I love. Decor was minimal but clean and the restaurant was well maintained. I think the place would make a nice casual dinner date. Food/Value (4/5): We ordered the udon with 4-piece spicy tuna roll combo, the mixed tempura appetizer, a baked salmon roll and a California roll. The total came out to $51.25. Prices are super fair for what you get, especially if you're craving special rolls or want a little of everything (they have so many combos). I'll review our food specifically below: -Udon & spicy tuna combo (3/5): Udon came in a pretty big bowl with udon, fish cake, green onions, and tempura flakes. Udon was nice and chewy, but the soup itself felt like it could use more depth. My husband wasn't a huge fan of the spicy tuna roll; he noted that the flavor wasn't the best, texture was bit different and the roll itself was loosely packed. He said he'd skip the spicy tuna next time. -Mixed Tempura (5/5): This was delicious. It came crispy and hot, with ten pieces total--2 each of pumpkin, potato, zucchini, carrot, and shrimp. The kids loved it and the sauce complimented it well. -Baked salmon roll (4/5): This was tasty, but it left something to be desired. I guess I'm used to heavier baked rolls with more creamy sauce reminiscent of a rice casserole made into a roll. Their rendition is essentially salmon placed on top of a CA roll with a drizzle of some sort of sweet soy sauce, but it was tasty nonetheless. -California roll (5/5): Awesome price and awesome taste. Loved every bite. I would come again just to order multiple of these. They don't skimp on the filling. Overall, I would give this place a 4 because it was a great lunch experience. We live relatively close, so this might be my go-to sushi craving place in the future. Would definitely come again and support this little mom n' pop shop!

Our first round of food: 8 specialty rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and tempura, arrived in about 10 minutes. Service stayed consistently fast throughout the meal, making it easy to get all three rounds in. At $40 per person for AYCE, it's a fantastic value. The restaurant is always very clean. I used to come here more often, but the prices have gone up which makes me think twice before visiting. If you're wondering whether the higher price is worth it, yes it is. They do offer other food items besides poke their pop stickers are good. They are located in the strip mall with plenty of parking right outside. They are a small place with some tables inside and a couple outside. Once you walk in, you're typically greeted with a very friendly worker. The place is very welcoming and family friendly. When you walk in to your right, there is a table with some papers and pens. This is for you to start selecting your poke options. I really like this method because I can take my time deciding what I want to get without feeling the pressure of somebody behind me in line. It is also very clear of what is an extra cost and what is included so there are no surprises. Once you fill your sheet, you handed to the worker and they start preparing it. They typically give generous portions which I cannot finish. I usually get a three scoop one and it lasts me two meals. They have a refrigerator right after the register with multiple drinks their Italian sodas are really good. Overall, this is a small spot in the strip mould that is definitely worth it. They offered deliveries through Doordash and Uber Eats and you're also able to place order directly with them if you want to pick up.
