I want to thank the owners and their staff for taking good care of us while my husband and I dined in their restaurant. Starting off, the watermelon salad (which was recommended by our server) was so refreshing and delicious! The tuna crudo was refreshing as well. The Brussels sprouts were very good, it came with burrata which I've never seen Brussels sprouts paired with that type of cheese but to my surprise it was tasty! The octopus (I love octopus) which I had to get and it was so tasty because it came with a pesto sauce and it was my first time trying that combination to which was amazing and fresh as well. The short rib pasta (my husband and I's favorite) was DELICIOUS. The short rib was super tender and tasty. They served the pasta with cheese fresh from a cheese wheel imported from Italy. (Secretly my actual favorite was the plate full of cheese that the server gave us to try) haha. They also don't skim on the quantity of the food. Lastly, the setup up was elegant and clean. Posh, elegant dining room. Only wish our birthday dinner reservation were better. I had such high hopes for this place rated 4.5 Yelp stars. (1) Wagyu meatballs were good, no complaints there. (2) Frutti di Mare with squid ink pasta was served with regular linguine. If we had been informed they were out of squid ink pasta we would have ordered something else. But we were too nice to send it back so we started eating... Mamma mia the sauce was SALTY! Also it was thick like the meatball sauce, not your normal soupy cioppino sauce that I am used to. Suffice to say this lackluster 'Italian' seafood pasta left a really bad (and salty) taste in our mouths. The waiter did not seem too friendly either so we did not bother to order more food. (Never once did he ask "How was the food".) We went up to the rooftop bar and had much better food and service there. read more

I wanted to take my wife to brunch and found this (relatively) new place. We had been to a Yelp event at the rooftop lounge at this hotel (Hilton Los Angeles - Arcadia) and enjoyed the event immensely. We also really liked the modern design and ambiance of the building too. We arrived at the restaurant but nobody was at the front desk. We rang the bell that was at the greeter's table but no one showed. We took a peek inside and there were people seated and eating. We waved at the waiter but he didn't see us. We rang the bell again, but still nothing. We walked out to the bar/lounge area to see if anyone was there who can help. Nope. We returned to the front and rang the bell again... And waited. After about 10 minutes of this, a lady finally came out through the drapes in the front and was able to seat us. The waiter was super nice and explained the menu items well. We ordered coffee... It was illy coffee which is my favorite brands. Very strong but smooth! Perfect! We ordered the Uova Rossos with eggs over medium and Mediterranean Steak Omelette with side salad instead of potatoes. WOW! The food was great! The Uova Rossos had a base sauce which was like a very good spaghetti sauce, but better. This was a little bit on the salty side, but was very good with toast. The runny eggs and a dollop of burrata cheese mixed with the tomato based sauce over toast was delectable. The Mediterranean Steak Omelette was... Mmmmm! So good! Seasoned perfectly but slightly overcooked for my taste. If the cubed steak pieces were cooked to about medium doneness, it would have been sooo much better. After we finished our food, we wanted to see what was available for dessert. The Limoncello Gelato just popped up on the menu! WOW! This was so refreshing! So good! I strongly recommend it! Even though it is a gelato, it had a texture more like a sorbet or sherbet. I have to come back for this for sure. I would definitely come back and try some of their other items! read more

19Seventy is named that because that's the year, their first restaurant opened in Whittier, CA. It's a Sicilian style Italian restaurant. It's located in the lobby of the Hilton hotel. The decor is clean modern and unpretentious. Tables are set apart far enough to feel spacious. There are many tables for four with some booth seating and a large one in the middle for bigger parties. The menu is fairly simple several pasta dishes, pizzas, protein, like steak even a Tomahawk and appetizers and salads. I don't drink, but they're cocktails menu seems pretty decent We ordered a few pasta dishes, and a couple of sides: Eden's Secret is a basic salad with greens and slices of fruit. It's not bad not a good value. 2.5/5 Polpo alla Siciliana, grilled octopus with pesto marinade served over a salad. Octopus was cooked perfectly, and the pesto flavor came through. Not bad. 3.5/5 Rigatoni alla Vodka was perhaps the best pasta dish out of three. It had a nice creamy flavor without being too heavy, and the pasta was al dente. 4/5 Frutti di Mare with served with a decent amount of seafood, but the squid in pasta was overcooked and lean towards the soft side. Though it was good, it did not stand out over other restaurants that serve this dish. 3.5/5 Baked rigatoni had the most overcooked pasta out of the three. There was no chew with the rigatoni pasta. The sauce was underwhelming. 2/5. We skipped dessert because for me, nothing really stood out as a must try . It seems their short rib and pappardelle it's very popular as I saw a few tables around us order it. It's pasta pasta in a cheese wheel. Serve with short rib. It looked good, but heavy. Based on our experience, the pappardelle has a good chance of being overcooked also. Our server was great. She explained and suggested popular dishes. And came by just enough times to check up on us, but a young man that might have been an assistant server seems new. We weren't even halfway done with the appetizer when all the entrées came out and crowded our table that we have to shift plates around. There's also something else he did that suggest he needs a bit more training. It's not a big deal and I would never make an issue with the restaurant, but just pointing it out. Pros: it's in Arcadia so we don't need to drive far, and being in the lobby of the Hilton, it's easy to find parking. Cons: the most important thing, the food. My family had an amazing time at this restaurant. We ordered their house specialty short rib pasta and it was so fun to watch it prepared table side. The short rib was so tender. My dad enjoyed the mushroom pizza so much. He also loved the Wagyu meatballs. I loved the burrata and Brussels. The bavette steak was so tender too. The ambience was nice and upscale. My friend took me here to celebrate my birthday and it was my first time. I had no idea this place even existed lol... It's inside of Hilton. I've lived in this area my whole life and somehow never knew about it. We ordered the ribeye, salmon, and pork belly. The ribeye was by far our favorite. It was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Definitely pour the sauce that comes with it, it makes it 10x better. The drinks were strong and really good too. Our server Jerry was amazing. He was attentive, gave us great recommendations, and took care of us from start to finish. The place was classy and quiet as well. Definitely coming back because I want to try their wagyu! read more

I stopped in for a drink and had such a great experience that I can't wait to be back next time I'm in town. I sat at the bar and ordered a Kiwi Breeze. Mind you this is not my typical go to fruity, tropical drink. I'm so glad I tried it. The flavor combination was unique and balanced so well I would have never thought those could go together. II was absolutely delicious and the presentation was incredible. I was truly not expecting that and was not prepared to capture the special presentation on video. Next time, I'll be ready. I had just come from a party and had dinner there so I didn't try the food. I couldn't help but notice the beautiful dishes being served at a table nearby. The conversation about their meals left me feeling like i missed out. I do have a good idea of what I want to try next time I come in. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant and inviting. I hope to bring someone special next time to share this with. The staff ware all wonderful. I had a chance to interact with several people. Everyone was friendly and helpful. What an amazing experience here at 19Seventy. At first it feels a bit weird since it's located inside the Hilton, but once you get past the hotel setting, the experience is honestly magnificent and totally worth it for a date night. We made a reservation on OpenTable, but it probably wasn't necessary since it was pretty empty. I think being inside a hotel makes it a little harder to find unless you already know about it. That said, I loved that when we arrived, they seated us at a nice corner table and had a cute "Happy Anniversary" sign waiting for us. Now onto the service, it was top notch. They checked on us often, gave great recommendations, and really made sure we had everything we needed. They even helped take a bunch of pictures for us, which I appreciated. Almost everything we ordered came with a little tableside presentation, which really elevated the whole experience. Here's what we tried: Melontinni - A top notch drink that was recommended to us. It came with a bubble on top that popped and released a really nice aroma. The flavors were great and I loved it. (5/5) Bellini - A perfect dessert drink for my wife, since she didn't want something too strong. It was like gelato, wine, and jam mixed together. Each part on its own wasn't anything special, but together it created a really balanced and delicious flavor. (5/5) Short Rib & Pappardelle - The main reason we came. It's hard to find pasta made in a Parmigiano Reggiano wheel, so this was our first time trying it with tableside service. It's definitely pricey at $80, but it comes with two portions and a unique experience. The cheese tasted super fresh and the dish felt really one of a kind. The flavors are bold and heavy, so it's not something I'd get all the time, but definitely worth trying at least once. The short rib was perfectly cooked and super tender. (4.5/5) Overall, it's an elevated dining experience tucked away in Arcadia. If you're looking for a dinner with fun tableside presentations and a more upscale vibe, this spot is definitely worth checking out. We've coming here for about 5 months. 4 dinners 6 breakfast occasions and all have been pretty amazing. Breakfast and dinner breakfast have been very well prepared and tasty and portions are good! The alcoholic beverages are too die for! It's a must go! For breakfast try the short rib omelette and home potatoes are a great choice. We found a real gem here in in Arcadia! The wife and I came here for some good Italian food and 19seventy did not disappoint. Jonathan, Arnulfo & Jorge made this a wonderful lunch. We started with cocktails that came smoked! Daddy's Little Secret & Kiwi Breeze made our tastebuds and dance! We had the pasta for two and the table side presentation with the short rib and fettuccini was amazing!!! Arnulfo's description of the history of the dish made it that much more delicious. The woman held the plates as he placed the servings on the plates....Lady you are strong! Jorge took our drink and food orders and ensured we lacked for nothing. Jonathan came by to check on us and chatted us up we loved the history of cocktails and the pictoral drawings. We did one more round of smoke cocktails II Padrino and Kiwi breeze for me. Both winners! My wife really loved that chocolate & orange bitters in the II Padrino cocktail. Jorge recommended the cheesecake some of the best you will ever have (We appreciate you putting pistacio ice cream on the side for my nut allergy:). The new Italian restaurant located inside the Hilton is beautifully designed. I loved the spacious interior and colorful accents. Sadly, the food was just okay. We shared 3 appetizers and 3 entrees. 1. Pulpo alla Siciliana - grilled octopus with a pesto sauce, served on top of a bed of mixed greens. The salad was fresh and pesto was tasty, but the octopus was overdone and quite chewy. 2. Burrata & Brussels sprouts - I liked getting my veggies, but the sprouts were a little underdone and still kind of hard in the middle. 3. Tuna Crudo - I thought it would be like a tuna sashimi, but it was more like shaved slivers of tuna. It was a little fishy; would not recommend. 4. The perfect rhapsody - pizza with pepperoni, bacon, sausage. It was okay, no complaints. 5. Grilled bavette - skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, served on a bed of mixed greens and some squash. The steak was a little chewy, given it's not the best cut of steak. I've had much better skirt steaks. The salad and chimichurri were very similar to the octopus dish. 6. Wagyu burger - this was the biggest disappointment. The meat was super dry and hard. Even though we ordered it medium (as the chef recommended), it was definitely well done. We finished off the dinner with the pistachio ice cream affogato, which was delicious. 19Seventy has a nice atmosphere for catching up with friends and the service was attentive. Excellent service and loved how they took the time to explain their menu. We ordered the following: * heirloom tomato bruschetta - very fresh and refreshing. Loved how the tomatoes were kind of tart * Eden's secret - refreshing salad that paired really well with the vinaigrette * short rib pappardelle - came with a little show where they tossed the pasta in the cheese wheel. I am always welcomed like family at 19seventy at the Ovalo! This family owned restaurant is located inside the Hilton Arcadia and is across from the Santa Anita race track. Truly a locals favorite for an inviting social evening. I love to visit 19seventy every chance I get. Great memories have been made during their special events. My first was a Caymus wine event which included a 5 course meal and a live music by Douglas Roegiers, to produce such a fun and romantic experience at sunset. Then again on a Friday night for Flamenco Fusion, a live music ensemble with Emilio Modern Gypsy. We have since been back for breakfast, lunch and dinner or just to visit the people who make it all happen. I was fortunate enough to meet the owners, who are the sweetest couple and good hearted people who emphasize hospitality and will stop at nothing to ensure the best experience for everyone who enters. Their priority on the customer experience shows their commitment and dedication to their expertise and passion. If your experience is anything less than extraordinary, they will try and make it right so give them a chance to. The thoughtful culinary menu offers a variety of Italian & Sicilian dishes to satisfy all tastebuds and dedicated to please. Having stayed at the hotel for a full week, I have had the opportunity to explore their menu across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast was consistently satisfying and well-executed every morning. The Il Americano is a classic, comforting start to the day: eggs cooked your way, a choice of bacon or sausage, and your choice of pancakes or toast. The steak and eggs delivers exactly what you want: a protein-packed grilled steak paired with eggs and toast, hearty without being a heavy portion. The kitchen was also very accommodating with substitutions for dietary restrictions, which was much appreciated. One standout surprise was ordering the Charcuterie Pizza with me adding eggs added on top--my first "breakfast pizza," and surprisingly delicious. Lunch continued to impress. A Wagyu burger was custom-ordered without the bun or fries, and the kitchen delivered without hesitation. The Chicken Marsala pasta was especially memorable and was rich, deeply flavorful, with tender pasta coated in a wine sauce infused with garlic and onions that truly melted in my mouth. Service deserves special mention. Jorge, our server, took excellent care of us throughout our visits and offered great local recommendations that genuinely enhanced our stay. Came here for lunch on a Sunday and didn't see the cheese wheel pasta on the menu. Turns out the table side cheese wheel pasta was dinner only, but they made an exception and brought it out for us. It's a white sauce pappadelle with 48 (or 72?) hour braised short rib that serves 2. The chef started off by giving us slices of Parmesan to try and it was delicious by itself. The short ribs were very tender and the pasta was tasty. We also got the perfect rhapsody pizza and it's on a fluffy almost focaccia like bread base but thinner. The meat toppings were just the right amount and very crispy which we liked. The service was great, they kept refilling our waters and checking in on us at the right times. This might be my new go to spot for when I want to have a cozy night out. Not only is the food amazing, but the staff are so welcoming (shout out Britany and Carlos). My friend and I got the Aperol Spritz (yum), cheesecake (blew us away, it was so soft and warm, the spoon just melted into it), and affogato (hot espresso was delicious). The prices were pretty good for a brand new location. The table next to us got a pasta which smelled so good we asked them what it was. Hello, Im not one to usually write reviews but this I've felt compelled to. My party and I were looking forward to eat on a Sunday during lunch time, but their main dinning room was being occupied by an event so we were left to eat in the bar area. This was out of their control so no worries there. But there were a strange amount of flies in the outer eating area, so we had to keep on waving them off while eating. But about the food, I order the wagyu meatball pasta, and it left me quite dissatisfied and disappointed. It appears the pasta was left to sit out so it ended up hardening and becoming just a brick of pasta. Using a fork to pick up the pasta isn't helping, so I have to use a knife to cut out section to even eat it. So that wasn't too appetizing, the meatballs included were OK and the sauce that was included is nothing to write home about. This pasta I received here today looks quite different than what another picture described on yelp. As the cheese on my dish I believe was the cheap store Parmesan cheese while what was described in another photo was nice grated Parmesan cheese. The noodles also were quite different as the ones in the yelp photo weren't a solidified brick and were instead able to actually properly pick up the sauce. So it was quite the let down in quality of the dish I ordered. I would NOT recommend getting the wagyu meatball dish! Another unfortunate turn someone in our party waiting VERY long for their dish. As they had ordered the fish entree, and it didn't arrive until everyone else in our party had already finished their dishes and it had only come out after asking 2 different servers to check on it for us. So when it had finally arrived everyone else in the party were finished eat already. Final thoughts are that yes, this is a new a clean looking Italian restaurant. But I would NOT go here, there are other restaurants nearby that can give a better experience in food and service. For example California Pizza Kitchen or Cheesecake Factory which are both less than 10 minutes away. I am not really a picky eater or have high expectations, but 19Seventy at the Ovalo have made me write this review in order to try and save others from this sub-par dinning experience. Very nice restaurant at the ground floor of the new Hilton hotel at Arcadia. I am so surprised that their food is so good and their drinks are great. Highly recommended for celebration dinner too. Many staffs came out and sing birthday song for us. They also gave us free birthday dessert too. Very nice and sweet celebration here. You might give it a try if you like Brussel sprouts, the one they made is very tasty. Their Truffles mushroom pizza is so good too. The only thing we don't really enjoy is their Rib pastas- the ‍ showed us how they made the cheese with - very nice show!!! But the pasta has very strong alcohol in them, we don't really like it. ‍. But I am sure many people would love it. The other pastas which we ordered were very good. The only thing is their chicken is very dry, I hope they can make it less dry next time. This will be mostly a review of the food as the waitstaff should not bear the weight of my low rating. That said, I was so disappointed with our meal that it's laughable. The high rating this restaurant has is surprising for the quality of food you get. As this was our first visit, and we had intentions of visiting the rooftop bar for after dinner drinks, our table ordered two appetizers and one main to share (polpo alla Siciliana, tuna crudo alla Costiera, and the pork and mint pasta). The octopus was fair; it was tender, but we did not touch the bed of greens it was laying on. The pork and mint was flavorless and reminiscent of a frozen pasta dish. I detected zero mint, but it did have an off putting gamey smell which made it less than palatable for me. The fettuccine was clearly not fresh pasta, which is an immense let down considering 19seventy is supposed to be "a heartfelt tribute to... Sicilian heritage" according to their About page. Please reference my photo for the tuna crudo. I have no words, but this image perfectly sums up my evening. My dining companion shared her opinion that the bread was the best part of the meal. I do not disagree. No, the restaurant was not busy this night. The food landed in a timely manner. The restaurant itself looks better suited for a daytime meal rather than a romantic date night. Make no mistake, this should not be considered a fine dining, white table cloth sort of establishment despite what some have said. I leave this review to add a dash of reality amongst the throng of adoring reviews as I truly feel they are gravely misleading diners. The bar certainly isn't that low? It's as if I'm in the Twilight Zone and everyone else has a pig face. Eye of the beholder? Well, this beholder is astonished with the more than 4-star rating this restaurant currently holds. The restaurant is very nice and new. Services are very friendly with nice excellent staffs. They are constantly checking on you. Every dishes are excellent, except the chicken "the chicken on the salads, the chicken in the pastas"- they are extremely dry. I hope they can make it better next time. 19 Seventy at the Ovalo is the new spot inside the new Hilton in Arcadia, and it's already a favorite of mine. Pizzas are great, pastas are excellent, and the sauces are phenomenal. Great Italian restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere and friendly service. The Short Rib & Pappardelle was rich, tender, and full of flavor, and the New York Cheesecake was the perfect way to end the meal. We also enjoyed the fresh appetizers and refreshing cocktails. My husband and I had the pleasure of attending the wine and dinner pairing at 19Seventy inside the Hilton in Arcadia, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The evening featured Caymus wines, and every single course was thoughtfully paired, each dish complemented the wine perfectly. You can really tell the level of care and intention that went into the chef's menu and it was honestly something out of this world. The ambiance made the night even more special. They had live performances with a singer doing Frank Sinatra classics, which added such an elegant and intimate vibe to the entire experience. I was so caught up in enjoying everything that I only managed to take one photo--the homemade lemon gelato dessert, but it perfectly captured the experience. The presentation was outstanding, and the dessert itself was light, refreshing, and the perfect ending to the meal. Went to get dinner with my daughter and son. The atmosphere was awesome and my kids got Smokey sprites. The pizza was delicious but mostly the service was one of a kind. Our family enjoyed a wonderful dinner service on new year at 19Seventy. Our waiter Gerry provided attentive and friendly service throughout the evening. We started our dinner with an appetizer (calamari), salad, and soup. They were all solid but nothing extraordinary. I did particularly like the light and fruity dressing for the Eden's Secret salad. For entrees, we had the salmon, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Pork & Mint shared among my family. Salmon was tasty. The mashed potatoes were particularly creamy and tasty. The pork belly in Pork & Mint were very tasty though I wished I didn't ordered both that dish and Pork & Mint at the same time. While they were good, it was too rich to have both. For desserts, we got the Cannoli and Tiramisu (not pictured). Both are good but Tiramisu is definitely the better of the two choices. One note, I highly recommend asking for their bread. Their table bread was surprisingly really good. It wasn't offered to us initially nor listed on the menu so you have to ask for it yourself. They charged $3 for it (at least for a second order) and I would do it again. Overall, this is a great Italian restaurant for Arcadia. read more

One of my favorite spots to go and have a glass of wine! Customer service never disappoints!

We arrived around 10:30 a.m., and the restaurant wasn't very busy. There were plenty of empty tables, but the hostess initially seated us in a corner at the very back of the restaurant. Since we were dining with a child, we asked if we could move to a more spacious table. She hesitated at first but eventually accommodated our request. After placing our order, we waited about 30-40 minutes for our French toast and omelet, which felt like a long wait considering how uncrowded the restaurant was. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. There were two servers working (main one helping us out was Jorge), but neither of them came over to check on us throughout our meal or refill our water. We were given only two sets of utensils, even though it was obvious we were dining with a child. Whenever we needed napkins or utensils for our child, we had to get up and find a server ourselves because no one ever came to our table. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the food was all right, but the lack of attentive service made the overall experience disappointing. read more
