We also saw the two tables next to us order their specialty which is a short rib pasta that is made table side in a large cheese wheel. First off the service both times was excellent as waiters were very attentive. We did not order appetizers besides some garlic bread, because we all shared salads. Their Cesar salad is really good and we also added avocados to it. Pizzas were very good and their pastas were good. We thought the short rib pasta was ok as it was very rich and you mostly only tasted the cheese. I enjoyed the chicken Marsala I ordered on my first visit better. We burned our tongues. Be careful. We got Caesar and salmon salad - both were great. Highly recc the salmon salad - salmon perfectly cooked and the vinaigrette with baby kale is delicious. Service is the highlight of this place-friendly, attentive and frequent check in throughout the evening. It was our first time visiting since the remodeling, that's where the bias lies with this review. We were under the impression certain dishes would be closely similar to the original. For example, the new "elevated" fettuccine Alfredo was not as tasteful as the original, with a gooey-er sauce and not the homemade taste that draws us to lascaris. The variety of choices are welcomed, especially with the appetizers and pizza options. It still keeps a family feel with a modern twist. We did head to their lambert location today for their delicious fettuccine Alfredo. I'm not sure if we'll return shortly but will give it another shot. read more

This was a great idea gone horribly wrong. As Lascari's Italian Restaurant it was ok but nothing special. The remake to 19Seventy is suppose to be a classy upscale Italian restaurant experience that has failed miserably in my opinion. They knocked out a wall and added wood accents and got rid of the deli upfront. It is high school cafeteria at best and the food just wasn't good. I have had better spaghetti out of a can. We had the stuffed mushrooms that weren't even edible. I'm not even sure what it was stuffed with but wow you had to really work to screw this up. The Lasagna literally had zero sauce and was like luke warm at best. But hey the little rolls were good. Way way overpriced and if you are going somewhere to celebrate any occasion I would steer clear of this place. They literally had two waiters that couldn't handle what they were given as such they didn't have time to come back and refill drinks or even check in with their guests. Probably a nostalgic great idea they went sideways. I give this place a big fat 0!!!!! They do also have a bar with overpriced ( craft drinks) pass on it also. read more

Had a great experience at 19Seventy!! Went here to celebrate my mom's birthday with a party of 8. Right from the beginning, the service was excellent! Our server was Ashley and she was so friendly and sweet! She answered all our questions and was very attentive to us throughout the dinner! She even refilled my hot water multiple times, which is SO RARE in a restaurant!!!! The food itself was delicious and had great portion sizes! The appetizers were great (calamari and caprese salad)! Good shareable portions for the table! For dinner, we ordered the short rib pappardelle, which was DELICIOUS and was a hit!!! There was more than enough to split among three people! I had the grilled salmon salad which had a good hefty portion of salmon that was perfectly grilled, on a huge bowl of greens! Remember the old Lascari's? The old vibe always made me think of a nursing home dining room. The food was always good, but the atmosphere just didn't quite hit the mark. Well, this place has had a complete makeover and is now wayyyy more upscale. - Vibe and Wine We walked in and decided to sit at the bar. The interior is beautiful, and their wine display cases really caught my eye. I was a bit bummed that, despite such a lovely display, the wine choices were a bit limited. The options start at a low price point (La Crema) and then there are some really sweet (jammy) choices, followed by some really high-priced bottles, but not much in between. I know this location is a community favorite and has been for over fifty years, with all the local doctors dining here, but we'd really appreciate seeing some more regular options. Maybe a few boutique wines from Paso, some unique bubbles, and other more affordable choices? - Bar and Food We walked in and chose to sit at the bar because that's usually where you get good service. Unfortunately, the bartender, Kelly, was very slow and seemed a bit lost. I heard her say several times that she was exhausted. It took her about ten minutes to get our drink order, and we were there for at least half an hour before we actually had a drink. It took almost forty-five minutes to get our food order placed. (She even went into the kitchen to make sure the dish I ordered didn't have any cream.) She came back and repeated our order. (Put a pin in this for later.) Kelly was busy, and the manager had to step in several times to help her get organized. She couldn't talk and work at the same time. In between having four guests at the bar, making drinks for the service bar, checking her phone, and trying to chat with guests, she just couldn't handle everything. She seemed friendly enough, but she was so much of a liability that it made us wonder if she might be related to the owners. After another 30 minutes, the guests next to us finally get their food, but we're still waiting. Kelly comes over and asks if we placed a food order for us. We tell her yes, a while back! She checks the computer and says she doesn't see anything. What?!!! This woman can't seem to multitask at all. We're so disappointed and hangry now. Fifteen minutes later, our food finally arrives. Kelly says, "My bad, dessert is on me." Seriously--no manager to come and apologize, nothing comped, just continued bad service and a full-price meal and cocktails that took three times longer than they should have. We were so disappointed because the food is delicious, but honestly, after a stressful day, I don't have the patience for utterly poor service. (Zero crowd here at the time which was in between lunch/dinner hour) As I mentioned before, the Manager came behind the bar multiple times to assist and clear dishes that sat atop the bar for long periods. A young man came on duty and immediately started hustling! He handled more in ten minutes than Kelly did our entire visit. Kelly even started griping to him that the manager was on her case because she was so behind. She couldn't even complain and make a drink simultaneously. She literally stopped everything to complain to her coworker. While the vibe and food all meet expectations, the service missed the mark by miles and really ruined our desire to ever want to return. We had such a great experience at 19Seventy! Darrell, the manager, was incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived and even checked in with us during our meal. Our server was absolutely fantastic too. I wish I had caught his name because he definitely deserves the recognition! We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share, including the truffle parmesan fries, fried zucchini, charcuterie board, and arugula prosciutto pizza. Everything was delicious and honestly, not one thing was a letdown. The fettuccine Alfredo was fantastic. The penne vodka was the only dish that wasn't quite for me. It was very tomato forward and even had what I believe were halved cherry tomatoes. I mixed some of the creamy Alfredo sauce into it though, and it was delicious that way! And I have to mention the extra special touch. We were celebrating a birthday, and they had a "Happy Birthday" sign waiting for us at our table when we arrived for our reservation. The pasta itself was delicious, but the meatballs were a bit under-seasoned for my taste, and I was a little surprised there were only two with such a big portion of spaghetti. We came here for my friend's late birthday dinner so I chose this place to choose from. She liked the menu And I know she loves Italian so we ended up here. We started off with the calamari and it practically made to order as it was freshly tasting with light breading. Second up was the prosciutto arugula pizza that was pretty good with lots of prosciutto which I like with arugula. The pizza part was a bit on the soggy side but overall good. The others order the angel hair pasta which didn't like the way the noodles were prepared. And the Rigatoni à la vodka wasn't the greatest. I'm not sure what was going on with it but it felt mushy. I ordered a second rigatoni à la vodka for my mom who wasn't in attendance but she liked it when I brought it to her. The farmers mixed vegetables were good tasting. Our waitress did a good job serving us as she was very pleasant and knew the menu well. I ordered based on her recommendations. The ambiance was kick back and I think we may have been the loudest. The space is elegant and intimate--though it does get a bit tight when it's busy--and parking is easy with no valet, which is always a plus. Prices feel fair for the quality and presentation you get. The front door and the interior is so aesthetically pleasing. The staffs were super friendly. I got the charcuterie ($18) and baked rigatoni ($20). Sadly I don't drink alcohol but i'm sure it's super good here. We had Jorge as a server and he's so polite and always checked on us. Jorge is probably the best waiter I ever experienced. Parking was easy (a big win for me coming from Pasadena) and everything from start to finish impressed us. Having frequented 19Seventy several times there are qualities that keep us coming back for more, and then there are a couple issues that make us say, "we should reconsider coming back here." Some of the restaurant highlights: Spectacle - the pappardelle with braised beef is prepared table side in a huge imported cheese wheel, and makes for a stellar performance, particularly if you're celebrating a special occasion. Pasta is made in-house and makes for a solid, shareable meal for two people. The specialty drink menu offers visually appealing cocktails like the "Il Padrino" and "Spiriti Flight" that I observed being served at nearby tables and they do yield smiles and laughter due to their presentation and alchemy. Menu offerings - the rosemary wings are incredibly tasty. They have a crisp texture and taste herbaceous, tangy, and slightly sweet. The brunch menu is great, and offers breakfast staples like French toast, chilaquiles and avocado toast, coupled with a nice Mimosa selection. Menu lists an impressive wine selection that's been rotated at least once in the last year. Service is exceptional. Wait staff and reception are incredibly friendly. Bartender is interesting and extremely knowledgeable. Now for the lowlights. We have ordered the Wagyu meatball toast appetizer at least twice and the meatballs are always cold. When I bite into them it's the worst sensation to bite into room temperature meat. It appears they're microwaved and turn cold in the time between the kitchen and the table. I would avoid at all costs. I have come to find that the wine pours are incredibly short. For the commanding prices, I don't think you're getting 6 ounces, it's probably more like 4 to 5 ounces, which makes each glass super overpriced. Although tasty, the restaurant charges for sourdough bread which is a little off putting. I know it's pricey to offer complimentary bread to every table but charging for it at an Italian restaurant feels wrong. Overall, the restaurant entree and drink prices are a bit steep, closer to steak house prices. I don't know the quality of the meat and the price it should reasonably warrant, but a steak will run you at least $69 and there's no description as to the meat's origins on the menu. Happy Hour is definitely an opportunity to overlook the pricing and enjoy the food at a reduced cost but overall, for me, 19Seventy should be limited to celebratory occasions as opposed to a family dinner on a weekday (contrary to the former vibe at the original Lascari's). Despite the lowlights I continue to return for the highlights, mainly the rosemary wings. 4 solid stars! read more

Discovered this place on Tuesday afternoon around 3pm. Ambiance super modern and everything new on the inside. Was craving rigatoni à la vodka & this place had it. I got more than I thought pleasantly. The pasta I added ricotta cheese which pulled it all together. It was delicious. The cocktails here are superb. Absolutely decadent and delicious. I ordered two types in the photos. They have so many more I'd want to try. Then I got the spumoni ice cream which was just as it was. I also ordered a cinnamon latte hot. Just finished dinner for our anniversary and it was a great experience. From the moment we were greeted to paying our check. The decor and ambiance is absolutely stunning and modern. Beautiful and unexpected compared to the original Lascaris. Jessi/jessica was our server and she was great checking on us and making our dinner special. She had the perfect recommendations and like I said really made our anniversary special. Our water glasses were never empty. Finally the food...we started with the calamari, perfectly battered and crispy without tough or chewy pieces. My husband had the minestrone and said it was delicious. We had a side of wagyu meatball and it was great but could've passed, the marinara sauce was delicious on its own. The complimentary bread and herb butter perfect. Our entrees were delicious and well portioned. Finished off our meal with the complimentary cannoli and it was the sweetest touch! A day saver! We stumbled upon this place after a disastrous experience at the original place that my husband had planned for Mother's Day. We wanted to head back west towards our house but wanted to drop by a place for a late do over lunch (we're talking 3PM!). We called and asked if they could accommodate a table for 3, they were happy to take us! When we came , the parking lot was still pretty full but we totally lucked out because someone had just left and we took a spot right out front. This was a good sign! Sometimes life works in mysterious ways! The interior was tastefully designed and I love their doors - you wouldn't know it's a door when it's closed. We were greeted immediately, there were a couple of parties ahead of us so the hostess was trying to figure out where to place everyone. They had a beautiful display of desserts that we got to look over and plan ahead for after our lunch. Our hostess took us to our table and said that our waiter would be right with us and within 2 minutes our waiter came by and introduced himself and handed us our menus and told us about their specials for the day. The food was delicious , service was prompt but nonintrusive, and drinks were awesome! I really love this restaurant. I've been twice now. Once ordering off the brunch menu and once ordering off the regular menu. During brunch you can order off of either menu. It's a beautiful restaurant with upscale cuisine both in flavor and presentation. For brunch I had the short rib eggs Benedict which was fantastic. The short rib here is melt in your mouth tender and loaded with flavor. It was also served on a croissant which took it to the next level. My wife ordered the spicy frittata but they gave her the vegetarian one. It was so boring and the waiter was totally confused that they had two types. After getting the correct one it was worth the hassle. Delicious and I would highly recommend. Lunch was epic. We did the table side short rib pappardelle. It's prepared at your table in a 90 pound Parmesan wheel and using house-made pasta. I assumed it would be gimmicky but I was wrong. Literally one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Fried mozzarella is great here but the bruschetta is the worst I have ever had. Delicious heirloom tomatoes ruined by burnt to a crisp bread that was so stingy we had to eat the tomatoes with a fork. I've had the Melontini and Daddy's little secret. Both equally wonderful and beautiful to look at. Desserts look nice but so far have been really bad. Tiramisu was a liquidy flavorless mush and the cannoli was hard as a rock. Biggest negative is the acoustics. I have never been in a louder space before. We were seated next to a bridal shower that was so loud it physically hurt our ear drums. It was so bad two tables near us left. Previous time was just regular diners but was equally loud. They need to do something about this since it's a common complaint on reviews. They also push people to write yelp reviews while they watch for a discount which is why there's so many one sentence reviews. I am writing this at home! Where do I begin... I would recommend you to order takeout so that when I come here I won't have to wait to dine in because once people start finding out about this place it's game over. I just want to shout Jorge out for the most amazing service. Started off the dinner with a Wagyu Meatball appetizer and wow an easy 5/5. That combination of flavors from the house made marinara sauce to the rich mozzarella and the savory Wagyu meatballs is for real a party in your mouth ! Ordered a Melontini and I'd definitely order it again, easy 4/5 I'd recommend. Onto the mains: Summer Pesto Ravioli Okay this dish was good but I don't think I will order it again. Taste 5/5 but I know there is definitely something else on the menu that would catch my attention when I come here again. Nice light pesto sauce with ricotta and mozzarella filled ravioli, and you can just taste that basil I believe there were only 6 or so raviolis but they're a good size, definitely will get you feeling good if you've had an appetizer. Next onto the Rigatoni a La Vodka with added shrimp Absolutely fire 5/5 would definitely order again and I would highly recommend even if you don't add shrimp. Too bad I probably won't have it for a while since I'll be attempting to cross off the whole menu at some point, so I'll have to make it back to this dish eventually. Desserts were a cannoli which seemed to be half pistachio and half chocolate? I'm not too sure but it was bomb, 5/5 as well as the pistachio creme brûlée. Although the creme brûlée wasn't really pistachio at least from what I could taste it might've just been the toppings that were pistachio. Still a great pick, can never go wrong with creme brûlée. Overall 5/5 remember to order takeout so it's not overly packed in there once this spot is booming! +1 for the unreasonably heavy front door read more

I had such high hopes for this place but I was so disappointed in the taste of the food here. I'm confused about how the ratings are so high here. Maybe it's because I just came back from Italy but there was really no flavor to any of their dishes and they were generally all veeeery oily and heavy. We tried the clams and calamari for appetizers and the cheese wheel pasta, seafood pasta, and filet mignon entree for our mains. Out of all of them, the filet was the best! 19seventy looks like it should be a modern, classy, great restaurant overall and their dishes LOOK amazing but I just couldn't eat anything past one bite which was super disappointing. I will say that the servers are very nice even though they messed up my request to not put dressing on my salad. I definitely would not come back because for me, the food itself has to be good first. Very disappointed with the food! ALL THE FOOD we ordered was either tasteless or mediocre. Ordered 2 appetizers the zucchini (mediocre) and stuffed mushrooms (tasteless). Entrees were Lasagna (mediocre) , cheese lover pizza (mediocre) . The worst part was my $69 filet mignon . I asked for it to be cooked "medium " , it arrived to the table well-done! I returned the plate and asked them to try again. When it finally came back, it was "medium-well" more on the "well" side unfortunately. Then to have this EXPENSIVE CUT OF MEAT NOT HAVE ANY FLAVOR!? TASTELESS! I couldn't believe it! So disappointed! Also, the mashed potatoes had way too much garlic and the carrots and asparagus were cold and barely cooked. It also looked like the restaurant had a full bar but they couldn't even make a pina colada! Or couldn't even recommend another alternative drink. We will not be returning. read more

Found a really nice place called 19seventy (a Lascari's company). Located in a town where the girls are prettier, I called it Whittier. 19seventy is known for their delicious Italian food. I walked inside the building and was greeted and then seated right away. Drink: Summer in Italy (Organic Vokda, Sweet Vermouth, Campari, Lemon, Rosemary Syrup, and Orange Juice). Very nice presentation. Taste sooo delicious. It's like summer time with great fruity taste. Heavenly good. App: Wagyu Meatball and Toast. Very unique app I've seen in awhile now. Great presentation. Meatball on toast is a great combination. Different than any other toast I've had. So good!!!! Entree: Lasagna!!!! Another tasty dish top with butter which is pretty rare in my book. I must say it's also delicious. Not too much to say though. Dessert: Dining experience is never completed without a nice delicious Tiramisu. Served in a glass. Delightful and delicious. First things first lol I realized this used to be Lascari's. Called in advances to make reservations for a large party as it was for a birthday celebration. I seen a review that mentioned a charge for the booking of large parties and I can confirm this is correct. Anything over 9 people from my understanding is a charge of 100 or more depending on the amount of guests. I left my 100 deposit for about 14 or 15 people. When we arrived we were seated pretty quickly for it being a Friday night I expected it to be a lot more packed but it was good that it was not overly crowded. We sat in a long booth in the back by the bar area. It is very beautiful inside the decor is fabulous. So to start they do serve free bread and butter. It was sooooo good BUT here is a catch that I did not like. If you want more bread and butter they charge you; now, it's not extreme it's $5 for each addition bread and butter you ask for. That's fine we don't mind paying BUT what I did not appreciate was no one explaining that or at least saying hey I can bring you more bread & butter just know it will be an extra charge. We didn't find that out until the bill came. We did enjoy the appetizers we ordered the calamari, fried mozzarella, and a charcuterie board. All of wish I highly recommend & would eat again. A few people ordered the short rib & pappardelle which let me say that short rib was amazingly delicious BUT the pasta was a bit sweet for everyone's liking. My plate was a hit and personally it was 20/10 for me it was delicious, I ordered the rigatoni a la vodka and added shrimp. I also very much enjoyed their lemons drops and cucumber martini, others had the espresso martini, melontini, and frutti de bosco and there were no complaints regarding our beverages. Now the bill, it was interesting because the deposit you leave for the reservation goes towards the bill. When we first received our bill it was about 675 bucks, we thought that was pretty good for all of us. But then I realized my credit was not added I let the server know and then eventually had to speak with a manager. They figured it out BUT it was kind of weird how it all happened apparently our first check did not have gratuity included, but the second check now had gratuity included and my deposit and came back as the same amount. Everyone thought that was a little bit weird but didn't want to make a fuss about it because by the time everything was figured out it was time for them to close and we just wanted to go home.
