I have been seeing ads for this place on Instagram. We came on a Tuesday night and were sat right away for a party of 2. We decided to order the fried mozzarella and overall it was good. The breading isn't crunchy, it's a soft breadcrumb texture that falls apart if you do not eat it in one bite. The meatballs were delicious, they o may give you 2 in the spaghetti serving. The baked rigatoni was good-sauce is on the thinner side and I had a lemon seed inside the Italian sausage. The sausages were made in house so I understand how something like that happened. I saved the seed and let our server know about it. Luckily, it didn't cause any damage and they gave us a cannoli on the house for the issue. TLDR: I spent $285, including tip, for a brunch, and was nickeled and dimed for a "birthday cannoli" that should have been free. I'll preface this review with the following. We've been coming here since before they were 19Seventy. We've been to the new rebranded business about 10 times since they reopened. Their food and service are generally consistent and good, this is why we keep coming back. The majority of our experiences have been positive. With few exceptions. When they first opened they were working out some kinks, so we gave them a pass. On Mother's Day, they forgot to enter my order and I got to watch everyone else eat while they made it. Then everyone else got to watch me eat after they were finished. They did comp my meal, so thumbs up for that. Yesterday we came for my wife's birthday. We had reservations for party of 5. Table was ready when we arrived, with a little happy birthday sign placed in the center. Nice touch, thank you We order drinks and appetizers, then after a little while we order our main dishes. Food begins coming out, but ultimately we are all waiting for the last two dishes while the rest of our meals get cold. Food is tasty and as we're wrapping up the waitress brings over a "Birthday Cannoli" and begins to light the candle. I point out that my daughter in law is in the bathroom that we should wait until everyone is at the table. I figured that would be a given, and she should have waited on her own. Neither here nor there, what got me and the reason for the review, is the fact that I was charged for the cannoli. Don't get me wrong, it's not the cost, I would have ordered one for myself if I wanted it. It's the fact that we didn't order it. It was offered and presented as "for your birthday." I caught it on the bill and showed it to my wife, she just shook her head and said just pay it. I still tipped my usual 20%, so the waitress got a hefty tip. We started off with drinks, I had the Frutti di Bosco and it was fresh and not too strong. It was a nice easy drinking cocktail. They do bring some warm bread and this yummy garlicy butter that we devoured. It's so good we ordered some to go. Between 2 of us, we split the caesar salad which was delicious and the short rib & pappardelle and that did not disappoint! It serves 2 but definitely was enough to take half of it home and have for lunch the next day! Fun way they present this meal is serving it table side. The chef rolls over his cart and fires up the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese wheel! He cooked the freshly made in house pasta in the cheese wheel. Then serves 2 bowls of pasta, topping it with the most tender short ribs on top, I believe he said they cook for 5 hours! Each bowl gets 2 good sized pieces of short ribs and it was so delicious! I attended a wine tasting featuring Austin Hope wines. It was such a treat to enjoy Paso Robles wine in Whittier. The pours were generous, the charcuterie was nicely presented, and the wines were offered at a great price point. I would have also liked the option to taste (and purchase) at least one higher price point wine. The staff were friendly and attentive, and truly seemed to care about providing a great experience. Unfortunately, the noise level was so high my guest and I had to shout to hear each other. There was a live singer with a great song selection, but it made it difficult to have conversation. I'd recommend lowering the volume or designating a quieter area during tastings to better allow conversation over the meal and appreciation of the wines. read more

First time coming here on Saturday night and WOW! It was busy! I definitely say make a reservation if you want to sit at a table. We opted for sitting at the bar, so we were sat right away. The restaurant is very cute, warm, and trendy. They also play the popular sports games! The popular dish here is the (Table side) Short rib & Pappardelle. We didn't order but it's definitely a cute set up show they make it right in front of you. We ordered the charcuterie board. I highly recommend It was very tasty especially with the drinks. The drinks were delicious not too sweet either! We got the Aperol spritz and the Bellini. For the Bellini, the homemade Gelato it was a treat and very refreshing. For food,we ordered the Rigatoni A LA Vodka with Chicken. All the food was amazing! They have a lot of options to choose from and it's plenty to share,so I would recommend going in a group and all getting a different dish so you can try different ones! This was my second time back since the change from Lascari's. I was hoping I'd enjoy the food more or it'd be more memorable this time, but I left still thinking it was okay, but not great. The inside decor is nicely done with modern touches where you feel you can come dressed up or down and be comfortable. The service is really good with friendly servers, frequent check ins and drink refills. Their bread is served warm and paired w/whipped garlic herb butter and is really good. We ordered the calamari to start. Very good portion size to share, but I felt it needed salt and the side of marinara is small for the portion of calamari. Spaghetti and wagyu meatballs were good. Tasted very fresh. Hubby ordered the Pan Crusted salmon over orzo w/pesto. The salmon was nicely cooked, but the pesto orzo was a bit bland. Cherry tomatoes on the dish was a nice touch for the "farm to table" vibe, but we probably won't order it again. He also got a Clear Negroni and he really enjoyed that. Next time I think we'll get different entrees to try and drinks and dessert for fun. Got to say I was very disappointed with my experience this past Sunday. I called days before to make a reservation and they agreed that they had availability. We were sat immediately, but we started to notice issues when the large table before us wasn't getting their food either. We put drinks in and apps which came fairly quick, however it was 2 hours since we were sat and we still had not received all of our food. My mom got her sandwich and my niece her breakfast pizza but we were still missing all of our food for 4 other people. After we reached hour 2 I got up and cancelled our order. To poor salt in the wound, the server didn't comp anything or give an explanation or bother to earn our business back but instead charged us for everything and we had to get fast food. Not even a free beer at least! As we sat there, the manager kept sitting people and trying to fill seats when they had no way to even provide these people with food and even though wait times were at 2 hours - really just shows that $$$ is number 1 priority and that service and the customer is not. I think they should have prepared better for the volume and they could have at least tried to make things right with us. read more

We were rewarded with a casual one hour and fifteen minute wait past our reservation time--because nothing says "We appreciate moms" like standing around awkwardly in your nice clothes for 75 minutes.
