Horrible Hostess Service ZERO Stars…read more First time patron at Shaw's and most likely my last. I arrived around 5:50 pm, The Hostess that greeted me wrote down my name for a table and then completely forgot that I had been waiting for over 30 minutes. I sat outside with another couple who arrived about 15 minutes after me and were told it would be a 30 minute wait; only to be seated within 5 minutes, which is now 6:30. Another couple walking by the restaurant saw an empty table on the patio, walked in to the restaurant and was told by the same hostess that has kept me waiting for more than 30 minutes, to go ahead and take that table. Upon witnessing this and 30 minutes of patiently waiting, I finally asked the second hostess why I hadn't been seated yet and it still took another 5 minutes for her to finally accommodate me. She sat me at a 2 top even though there were several 4 top tables available, (so why wasn't I offered one of those empty tables????) The 2 top table is next to a column that apparently is out of sight from any servers, and I never did get greeted by the assigned server. So now another 15 minutes has passed and finally a very nice server, Alysha, asked if I had been helped to which my reply was NO. She then took my order and it took appropriately another 25 minutes to receive my order of the Big Bird Chicken sandwich. The couple sitting next to me even made a comment, "wow, your food is taking forever". Then to add insult to injury, another staff member walked over to my table and removed by glass of water without saying a word, before I had even paid my bill. I even asked him why he was doing that, to which he looked dumbfounded. Not a pleasant dining experience at all. It's sad because I so wanted to have a nice dinner especially, as I was dining solo and am always looking for restaurants that I can frequent in the future. Shaw's isn't one of them until their staff is better trained and pay attention to ALL their customers.

My first visit to this location was yesterday, a Wednesday. Two of the people there were the bartender/owner Jacoby, and Mary who was in charge of the selections. Their beer offering was not a printed list, but a list displayed on three big screen TVs. There were 40 taps and only ONE "stable", the Guinness. A few non-Texas beers, but mostly they were Texas crafts. I actually liked that because that was their goal/model. I was able to sample 7 beers I have never tried before. Considering my purchased record at my home store is 707. That being said, if you're looking for a "stable", go next door to The Filling Station. BUT, if you're willing and want to expand your pallette, and you're in town for whatever reason, this is THE place for that. All of their pints are $7-8, a very reasonable price. Came tonight because it was "pint night" featuring Cowtown Beers, four of them. Fired off a flight, enjoyed them all. $10 for all four. Oh yeah, the best part, at least for now, they have the Chimay Cinq Cents on tap for $9.50.
