I really enjoyed this place! Loved the cold steamed shrimp! Delicious! The calamari was thick strips and cooked perfectly. Could have done with a little less breading, but overall I would order it again. The catfish was cooked really nicely, again a little bit thick on the breading, but was still delicious. Cole slaw wasn't over dressed. Hush puppies were fried perfectly and moist inside. Oh the fries! They're so good! Super thin, a bit like home made potato chips, but better. Wow! I was so embarrassed that my niece came in from Ft. Worth to meet me at RS&OB. First we get the pound of steamed shrimp and there were 11 medium shrimp and a salad sized shrimp on the plate. The crab cakes were gooey and the fried catfish dinner was like eating fried jelly at best. The bar was full though. The best thing on the menu sampling we had was the ice cold Coors Light. Really?! When we told the waitress about the bad experience she brought us hush puppies for free since the fish was bad. We won't be back but at least we laughed and had a great time sharing our experience. Adore this Cajun spot in granbury. Perfect menu of Cajun favorites mixed with some random surprise items like Punzu shrimp with sticky rice. My typical favorites are the crab cake, coconut shrimp and tiki tacos. The fries are not to be missed -different than anything you will find. Prices for the service side are very reasonable. Randy's oyster bar is a great place to pop in and get some good sea food. Randy does a great job with his restaurants here in Granbury and this might be my favorite. Food is always on point no matter what we get. My son and I enjoy going here and kids are welcome but more of bar type feel with good food. Kids more welcome I would say for a lunch. The scenery inside fits a Great Lake town and the old John boat liquor cabinet is a great touch! This was our first visit to Randy's Shrimp & Oyster Bar in Granbury and it lived fully up to our expectations/friends' recommendations. We made reservations for last night/Friday which was wise as there were very few spare tables when we arrived. We were promptly seated and our server, Bella, was polite and efficient. The food was amazing - they do a different spin on traditional fried calamari as an appetizer but it was very good. I ordered a combo plate with fried shrimp and fried catfish and it came with wonderful fresh Cole slaw, French fries, and the best hush puppies I've ever had. My husband enjoyed his fried catfish with spicy, well seasoned Creole sauce. Hostess Michaela thanked us warmly as we were leaving the restaurant. All of the food was nice and hot/cool Cole slaw, and tasted great. We can't wait to go back! read more

I really enjoy eating here. The menu is simple yet gives me a great variety of food to choose from. About the only thing you can't get here is steak. I love the fried shrimp and various pastas. they also have a variety. Poor boys. The salmon is excellent. None of the prices are outrageous. They atmosphere reminds you of cheers. I love Randy's in Granbury. We have a short list of places to go that are not chain restaurants. We went for Sunday brunch. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and made us some yummy Sunday cocktails. Although we have had neighbors and friends attend here. I can not say the food was amazing. The chef did come to see how the food was. But I expressed the breakfast potatoes were a bit different than the menu explained. They were more like a bake potato mixed in sour cream. I don't think this pleased the chef. But they were sold out or ran out of the most key items on the menu. Although I heard great reviews. I just don't think they are there yet. Some fine tuning should be done and a more extensive menu should be done for brunch. A oyster bar should never be out if oysters. read more

While visiting Granbury, we went to Randy's Shrimp and Oyster Bar for dinner on Friday, April 22. Overall, it was enjoyable experience and meal. I understand the restaurant is newly opened, and I'm sure the minor kinks will get worked out quickly. We travel with a service dog, and the hostess was unsure whether a service dog would be allowed in the restaurant. It seems to me owners/managers of Texas restaurants would make sure those employees greeting guests would be familiar with the law regarding service dogs. It was Friday night, and the restaurant was busy with a 25+ minute wait to be seated. Ultimately we were seated with our dog, so it worked out fine. We ordered the crab cake appetizers and all agreed they were delicious and perfectly prepared. The breading was very light, and each cake was mostly crab meat. The remoulade drizzled over them was tasty, and the crab was very fresh. Husband ordered the "Create Your Own" platter and had fried shrimp and fried oysters with broccoli, okra, and hush puppies. He devoured it! I had the fish and chips with French fries, steamed broccoli, and hush puppies. The fries were way oversalted. The broccoli was loaded with grated parmesan on top, a fact not noted on the menu or mentioned by our server. I would have preferred no parmesan, but the broccoli was fresh and steamed to a perfect tenderness. My plate came without the promised hush puppies, and I had to ask for them. The fish (cod) was piping hot and very good. The tartar sauce was the perfect blend of tartness and a little sweetness. My friend had the red snapper with lemon butter sauce, cole slaw, fries, and hush puppies. She enjoyed the red snapper and cole slaw very much, but agreed the fries were far too salty. Her husband thoroughly enjoyed the fried catfish topped with crawfish Creole and served with fries, dirty rice, and hush puppies. Randy, the owner, came to our table, and he was a gracious and delightful host. We talked for a long while and learned about his other restaurants in the area, how he got started in the business, etc. He's very personable and friendly, and meeting him added so much to our experience. With any new venture, there are always kinks to work out, staff to train, tweaking of recipes, etc. Next time we're in town, we'll definitely visit Randy's Shrimp and Oyster Bar again, knowing it will be even better. Been waiting for Randy's Shrimp & Oyster Bar to open and excited to visit tonight for first time. Let me start off by saying it was a great and fun experience! Food was DELICIOUS and service was OUTSTANDING! We started with the colossal shrimp and Montauk oysters. My husband is an oyster lover and thought these were very good. Colossal shrimp was as described, big, and very flavorful. I had the crab cakes on a biscuit and my husband had the catfish with crawfish sauce.
