We love going to Shaw's and go often. The food is always good, good drinks and the servers are awesome usually... Wendy and Evan have always been the best! Tonight we hit a few bumps in the road(not with how anything tasted...it was great as always) and the way the manager handled the situation was absolutely amazing! She made us feel like the most valued customer she had and made me want to come back despite the hiccups. She is FANTASTIC! Try the fried green beans... you won't be sorry!! read more

Horrible Hostess Service ZERO Stars First time patron at Shaw's and most likely my last. I arrived around 5:50 pm, The Hostess that greeted me wrote down my name for a table and then completely forgot that I had been waiting for over 30 minutes. I sat outside with another couple who arrived about 15 minutes after me and were told it would be a 30 minute wait; only to be seated within 5 minutes, which is now 6:30. Another couple walking by the restaurant saw an empty table on the patio, walked in to the restaurant and was told by the same hostess that has kept me waiting for more than 30 minutes, to go ahead and take that table. Upon witnessing this and 30 minutes of patiently waiting, I finally asked the second hostess why I hadn't been seated yet and it still took another 5 minutes for her to finally accommodate me. She sat me at a 2 top even though there were several 4 top tables available, (so why wasn't I offered one of those empty tables????) The 2 top table is next to a column that apparently is out of sight from any servers, and I never did get greeted by the assigned server. So now another 15 minutes has passed and finally a very nice server, Alysha, asked if I had been helped to which my reply was NO. She then took my order and it took appropriately another 25 minutes to receive my order of the Big Bird Chicken sandwich. The couple sitting next to me even made a comment, "wow, your food is taking forever". Then to add insult to injury, another staff member walked over to my table and removed by glass of water without saying a word, before I had even paid my bill. I even asked him why he was doing that, to which he looked dumbfounded. Not a pleasant dining experience at all. It's sad because I so wanted to have a nice dinner especially, as I was dining solo and am always looking for restaurants that I can frequent in the future. What a pleasant surprise! The food is delicious, atmosphere comfortably cozy,service impeccable. Go! Rolled into the small quaint town of Granbury one morning to see what condition the place was in! Happy to report it's doing fine. My only problem,a lot of stuff including restaurants are closed after being open all weekend. As a result I had to put two extra quarters in my Yelpanizer to find something I calculated was worth the time and hard earned cash. Enter Shaw's Southwest Grill.. on the corner of the square across from the courthouse,it's smallish inside and gets real busy. Not knowing this,I showed up after 12 noon and opening the door was faced with a crowd. Fortunately they are more than a little adept at getting you seated. I got the last table. Plus,the manager thanked me for coming. When is the last time that happened? They've created such a comfortable little space here and I don't remember the last time I took a few minutes just to look around and enjoy the place. Shortly our eager waitress showed up and we're off. Great but difficult,menu selections and not sure what I was gonna get,I defaulted to my tried and true, the cheeseburger. We also enjoyed the loaded nachos. Both were superb and all the food going to tables around us looked great . I've gotta say,the cheeseburger knocked my socks off. Perfect caramelized patty with all the usual toppings, gooey American cheese and to put it over the top a steamed bun. I just was amazed and haven't had a burger out that good in years . We just went for our first time. Had quesadillas for an appetizer. Loved it. Jimmy the bartender was the entertainment. We had a blast just hanging out. Out back we had live music. This is definitely one of our favorites in Granbury. read more

Great food! We sat in the back on the patio and listened to the fountain with a waterfall in the background. I thoroughly enjoyed the Elote Quesadilla. Had a bit of a kick--Perfect amount of spiciness. Hubby had the chicken fried chicken with jalapeño gravy and coleslaw . Everything was prepared perfectly. I am pretty picky about my coleslaw and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a jalapeño margarita. One was enough for me! It was very well prepared. Compliments to the bartender! Of all of the places to have a great cocktail and a nice simple meal in Granbury, Shaw's Southwest Grille is the best place to go in this tourist destination. We live west of Granbury well outside of town and love the coziness, friendly staff, and fresh delicious food. We have been wanting to write a review for a while now and finally getting around to it. We especially love the service by the wait staff, especially Wendy, a California ex-pat, who has consumed what it is to be a Texan with love for the people here, the food, drink and especially the patriotism for the Lone Star state as part of these great Unites States of America. It's so heartwarming to see such passion about her town, state, and country, especially as she and the rest of Granbury celebrate our wonderful 250th anniversary of freedom from tyranny and those who want to destroy the places we grew up in. Thank You, Shaw's for such wonderful food, people, drink, and patriotism!!! read more

Food was mediocre, was excited about drinks after the employees sold us on the "owners secret recipe" .... They were absolutely disgusting. Outdoor seating was decent until you smell the dumpster outside of the gate next to the dining space. Bad bug problems as well read more

It was pretty busy tonight but we were willing to wait 30 minutes for a table. We decided to try to get a glass of wine for the wait. After waiting patiently near but not at the service bar for 10 minutes the service bartender barked at me to get a table if I wanted to order a drink. Nice place and the waitress we had our 1st visit was amazing. The issue I have is with the bartender. 2 different occasions to the restaurant the bartender dropped the ball. 1st time she didn't give my drink when she was supposed to and even the waitress was annoyed. The 2nd time it was a to go order that she placed and never came back with the order for 30min. I had my daughter picking up my order on her way home and she didn't know to ask for my order after at least 10 min and just waited. When the order got home it was good, but cold. I definitely will be letting them know when I go back to visit. I would recommend this establishment but hopefully the bartender gets better at her job. read more

Had been really looking forward to trying this place for awhile. Love the location and outdoor patio and enjoyed it when it was The Fisherman's Corner. I thought the renovations they did looked great. Service was very good, BUT there was a bunch of the staff just standing around and one of them kept kneeling over like he was sick. Not sure what the case was there. Tried their margarita since it stated "award winning". It was decent but nothing stood out to me and it was a bit overpriced at $10 for a regular size. Ordered fish and chips and their quesadilla. The southwest chicken quesadilla was good although it only came with a side of sour cream and some very runny salsa that wasn't good at all. A side of guacamole would have been very welcomed. The fish and chips however tasted like it had been reheated in the microwave. The breading was very tough and lacked the crispness it should have. The fries were thinly cut but pretty good. It did come with a avocado/cilantro dip that was very good but seemed better suited for the quesadilla. Overall 3 stars. Would probably go back to give another chance but it'll be awhile since there are other restaurants in the area I prefer more. read more

Food was outstanding! Today was our second time to try Shaw's but our first time to order food (they have a great happy hour 3-6PM Tuesday-Fri). We ordered the classic burger with fries and the smoked turkey club with fries. Both were absolutely delicious! The fries are perfect. The drinks are awesome. The patio is super nice. I was very pleased with our lunch at Shaw's. We had simple fare, a burger, some Tex Mex, but everything was good. When I say that, I mean it was made well with quality ingredients, seasoned well, and cooked properly. The service was great and the staff was fun to chat with. I think we may have a restaurant on that corner that will last for a long time. read more

We've been there twice now and the food is excellent. I had fish the first night and fish and chips the second night, both were delicious. My only suggestion would be for the bar to upgrade to a to tier Italian vermouth which is what their competition uses. read more

Absolutely awful. If you want to spend $85 on 2 adults & 2 kids with no alcoholic drinks, please go somewhere else. Food was very par. Service was insanely awful & with multiple waiters + a server, when asked if our table could be clean they looked at us as "that's not our job" & they wouldn't help clean off our table. Very small space. Had high hope bc menu looked good , but sooooo disappointed. No way this place makes it unless owners get with employees to change things. read more

We were a party of 7 today. Granbury square was quite busy with a festival, so I believe the restaurant was busier than normal. However, they are the new place on the square. Though we waited over an hour for our food, we all agreed it was quite good. I had the Big Tex. Cooked the way I asked and very tasty. The bun was so fresh. Nice, fun, place. I hope this restaurant stays for a long time. There is an outiside seating area in the back and it looked awesome. The only thing I am concerned about is I only saw one co-ed bathroom stall. Not a true problem for me however families with children, it might be an issue. read more

Nice place, but really small and tight. I was not interested in what the man next to us was talking about, but I had to hear it anyway. Anna was busy, but she was attentive. She did a great job taking care of us. We shared the chicken fried steak, which was excellent. But, there were a lot of amazing burgers walking by. We'll be back to try one of those. read more

David and Ann care about every facet of this restaurant and it shows..continuously changing art displays, cozy interior decor and something on the menu for everyone.
