Got smacked with an $18 fee because my balance fell below their $2500 daily minimum. I don't recall that policy being in effect when I opened my account because I never would have. Regardless, it's BS and I'm taking my business elsewhere. There's plenty of alternative banks and CU's that don't have a daily minimum nearly that high. I was first referred over to Steve Hicks (Loan Officer) from my friend, who just recently had a great experience refinancing her home. Liz is the loan agent and Kathy is the fulfillment specialist. I've been in real estate for over 9 years and this team is as powerful a combination as I've ever seen. They fought the City of Oakland to remove liens against my home, consolidated my debts, extended deadlines and best of all they fought to allow me to get the rate I was originally quoted even after the rates went up and my rate lock expired. Kathy Costales and Josh Gibson were absolutely fantastic. This team processed 6 rental property refinances, with very complicated financials, within a matter of 3 weeks. The process was smooth, efficient, polite, and very professional. They will respond to questions, return phone calls and emails the same days if not within an hour. I can not express how impressed I am with this company. I tried to refinance one of these properties with Sunwest. After 6 months of constant badgering them without progress, I finally decided to go with Fremont Bank. Not only did the finish the refinances within weeks. This is regarding one customer service person in the loan servicing department of Fremont Bank. Fremont Bank mailed me someone else's loan documents. So I called and asked to have the correct document sent to me. I was surprised that the person who works in the loan servicing department did not know what documents I should receive, instead she sounded very affirmative that I should not have received any documents. This left me with the impression that she wasn't very knowledgeable about routine documents. Anyway, she told me she would get hold off the person who sent the wrong document and ask her to send me the correct one. I asked her for her contact info but she was reluctant to spell out her name to me (Evan? or Ida?). I called in the afternoon to confirm if she got hold off the person who sent out the wrong doc. She sounded polite when she picked up the phone, but once she learned it was me calling again, she appeared very impatient and questioned me "confirm what?". I told her I wanted to confirm that she had gotten hold off the person who would send me the correct document. She quickly confirmed then abruptly hangup the phone. I still had further questions that I wanted to ask, but the phone had already hung up. This made me feel her politeness at the beginning was fake and pretended. Nobody would like this kind of service, so I hope this person would make some positive change someday. read more
