They were to come to a house I was responsible for. No one was living in the house. They were…read moresupposed to call me when they were on their way so I wasn't waiting in the house for them to show up. The man was rather curt and said I didn't answer the phone. The reason I didn't answer was he wrote down the wrong #. I wanted to follow him to the location where an old washing machine was being taken to find out what I could get for the metal. he didn't want to do that. There was a stationary bike I wanted taken upstairs and one mover thought he was funny and said they wouldn't do it but they did. I certainly wouldn't call this outfit "sweet."

They did okay with my move. It was just from one apartment to another about ten minutes away, so…read morenot a big job for them. They were friendly and easy to communicate with. I left them alone and let them do their thing for a few hours and just told them to text me when they were ready, which they did. After they were all done and I was setting up in my new apartment, the first thing I looked for was my air conditioner. It was a hot day and if I was gonna be working on setting up my new apartment I needed cool air. I couldn't find it anywhere, I couldn't even find any of my many fans. So I went back to the old apartment and found them all there. Why leave those? I told them the only things I didn't want them to move, the air conditioner and my fans were definitely not on that list. I understand saving those for last so you can have them running while you work, but why just leave them at the end? It's so strange. They left a number of other things I had wanted them to get as well, but easily the most annoying thing was the air conditioner. It's a big heavy one that sits on the floor, I was pretty annoyed that now I had to bring it down two stories of stairs when I had just paid these movers $1200 to do it. So that loses them three stars in my rating. I should also mention that days after our move we got an email from them offering us a $25 gift certificate to L.L. Bean in exchange for a positive review. I chose to write an honest review instead.

We ONLY needed them to move certain large items as we would be moving our smaller belongings ourselves. Our new home is LESS than 10 minutes away from our current home, yet they wanted to charge us over $200 just in travel fees alone! Then, they charge $231 per hour on top of that with a MINIMUM of 6 hours. UNREAL!!!! So, to move just a few large items less than 10 minutes away, which probably would have taken no more than 2 hours, it would have cost us nearly $2000 (the quote they provided us was $1700). What a joke!!!! We have since hired another local moving company, who will only be charging us a little over $400 for this move and have told us that it may even be less if they are able to do it faster, which is FAR more reasonable and is exactly what we expected to pay for this move. These people are Liberty Bell are greedy price gougers!!! No way would we ever pay that much for a local move! Hell, we have friends who moved almost 800 miles and they didn't even pay that much! Definitely do NOT recommend this company!

Items broken that weren't fragile, towels stained, boxes sent to wrong location. They are far from…read moretop notch. I understand there are a lot of moving parts but several items were separated into 3 or more boxes with no information as where to locate them, towels had random yellow stains, rugged tools were damaged, delivery was a nightmare - no communication to unloaders that we are 3rd floor, unloaders were late by 3+hours, storage/home items mixed, Nondescript box labels. Things got moved but I wasn't impressed by the process.

The best way to sum things up is F&G is sadly "normal", meaning they suffer from the same societal disease diagnosed as lacking above and beyond customer service. You have to manage them - they won't manage you. Their communication, after the sale, was lacking expectation. Once paid in full, F&G never communicated again. Never told us "who" the contracted carrier was or how to reach them with questions. Never tracked our delivery or called to inform us the delivery date was extended (again) 2 days - a total of 3 days late. They were hands off with no attempt to illustrate an "extra mile customer service effort". We now wish we'd gone with the other, lower cost, local mover who we also used previously.

They had to move the printer, which is 100% both awkward to carry and our absolute livelihood, through a basement hatch, and though I was chewing my nails down to bloody stubs the whole time, the guys nailed it. They really worked hard, it was not a simple easy move, lots of packing, lots of stairs and…read moredistance to carry and haul things, long hours of tiring heavy work. They worked very late to finish up, everything arrived in good shape. They were kind to assemble and arrange heavy things that I could never manage. Their estimator person really underestimated how much there was so the bill was a lot more than I budgeted for, but I saw first hand how many hours of heavy work they put in so the final total was fair. We would surely use them again but next time I would plan that the price will be more than anticipated.
