Updated: I had 2 Guys and a Van move me in June about 3 blocks into the new condo I just purchased. The crew showed up early and gave me plenty of notice that they would be arriving early. All 3 guys worked extremely hard, quick, and efficient. Everything was moved into my new condo building without any damage to my personal belongings, my new condo building, or my new unit! I received my deposit back from my condo building without any questions. Diego and his crew were great. There was a minor hiccup during the move, but 2 Guys and a Van handled it like professionals. Moving will never be a clean and easy process, and how you handle issues if and when they happen is the most important to me. The quality of the move and the way they addressed the issue that occurred, I absolutely recommend using them and will call them again if I move again! read more

A special thank you to Rickey, Roscoe, and Rayman for making our move go as smoothly as possible! To give background, we had already moved all of our clothing, small belongings, and boxes from our old apartment in Lakeview (3rd story walk-up) to a high rise in downtown Chicago - so all we had left to move were the heavy things. Two mattresses + beds, couch, chairs, kitchen table, small televsion, dressers, etc. were left to move (about 20 items in total). Our estimate was accurate - $390 total for 2 hours worth of 3 laborers that included the moving van and already accounted for travel time in the city (they "start the clock" when they begin moving at stop #1, stop it when they have finished, and "restart the clock" when they arrive at origin #2.) The men were very cautious with our belongings and covered everything in blankets and wrapping at no extra charge. If I could - I would give them 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because on the final document they gave me of the receipt they had done the math wrong and were going to accidentally overcharge us an extra 30 min which would put us over our estimated time and essentially add on another $60. They were calm and cool though when I asked and corrected their mistake shortly thereafter - always good to double check the final bill! Tip: have everything ready. to. go. when they arrive. I'm talking put everything that you want moved in a pile and have a designated area of things you do not want moved. They will swipe and load everything in site if you don't direct them otherwise because it is there job to move entire houses. Plus, it's easier for them to know exactly what the job includes! I got recommended Two Guys and a Van from someone who had also recently moved out of my building, and I am so glad I used them for my move! Donna and Laura were super helpful with coordinating everything and answering all of my questions before the move. On the day, Temo, Bruce, Paul, and Victor were very quick and so nice! Unfortunately, the reservation on the freight elevator in my building ran out before everything got loaded into the van (not the fault of the movers), so I had to schedule a second, smaller move the next week, and it went just as well as the first- Kyle, John, and Paul finished loading and unloading the rest of our stuff super quickly. I had a good moving experience with 2 Guys and a Van. I had Ahmad, Raymond, and DJ move me. Although I didn't have much space that I was coming from, a studio, they moved me quickly. They were very friendly and professional as they always insisted that they take or move anything that I was trying to help out and carry. I had lots of little items that weren't boxed and they happily carried all of it. I told them to put boxes anywhere because I'd have to set it all up later and amazingly a lot of items were placed in thoughtful places -- a bookshelf that was from my room was carefully placed in my new room without me asking or thinking about it. read more

The movers were polite, careful, and strong enough to move a very heavy (but fragile) steel etching press, along with an antique oak cabinet. Now safely in my home. I had just a few days to find the movers and get insurance papers in order, Kenny made it all happen on time. And their price was very fair. No surprises. On the plus side: They did a good job moving my belongings efficiently, and the crew was courteous and on time. They even broke down and put back together a large Ikea bookshelf that would not make it down and up the stairs in one piece, and they were careful to explain to me the extra time and cost associated with that. On the not so good side: The crew was not very good at listening and taking directions. I felt like I had to keep repeating myself to let them know that they had still left items behind in my old place. In addition, they scratched up a side table at some point during the moving process. It's not a huge deal, and probably more of a hassle to try to get compensated for it than it's worth, but I wish they had been more careful and wrapped the table to protect it like they did most of my other items. They also managed to scratch the hardwood floors in my new place. Again, not a huge deal, but I would have appreciated a little more carefulness even if that required a little slower pace. read more

They confirmed several times before they arrived and the three men that moved us (Ahmad, Noe, and Jeremy) had everything moved in record time. This is my second time using 2 Guys and a Van and I will always come back to them for every chicago move! I had my move scheduled for the middle of snowmaggedon...it was very stressful and extremely bad luck. However, the triple J team (I believe it was John, Jonny and Juan) showed up like troopers and made it work! They did quick work loading everything, I was very impressed. Luckily, it was a short move, only like a 7 min drive between places. I unfortunately got my car stuck while trying to leave the old place and the crew had to wait for me for some time at the new place. They were gracious enough to not charge me for the time accrued while I was stuck in the snow! They were very quick at unloading everything and were very accommodating about putting things I needed in the storage unit in the basement. Everything got to me safely. Despite the awful weather conditions, it only took a couple of hours. I truly couldn't have done it without them. They came in just under the quote too, it was great. I had some high expectations for this experience, given the online rating and the personal experience of a friend of mine that had used the company a few weeks prior. In the end, however, I was pretty disappointed and would not likely return as a customer. I think my experiences are probably more specific to the crew than the company as a whole, though, which is an important consideration. First, and the most minor, was just the general attitude. Ordinarily, this isn't something that would bother me, but taken with the other issues below, it bothered me more than it otherwise would have. Several of the guys would openly make comments about how much they disliked various aspects of the job while I was standing mere feet away. Which, I get - moving using a small freight elevator to a third floor walkup isn't fun, but it's the job, and it's Chicago. This isn't the first third floor walkup move and certainly won't be the last. Second, part of my apartment didn't get moved. I had spoken to the crew head at the start of the job about the need for wardrobe boxes, but in the end, they never made it upstairs and the clothing in the closet didn't get moved. Granted, I'll take a lot of flack for this one - I didn't have the chance to do a final walkthrough as I wanted to make sure I had time to grab cash for payment and to be at the new place when the movers arrived so as not to delay them. Were that not the case, this might have been avoided, but still frustrating to have paid $800+ and still have to spend an hour afterwards moving your clothing and part of your bed that was left behind. Finally, and most egregiously to my mind, my soundbar went missing. It left the apartment, but did not make its way to the new apartment, even after I confirmed that the truck was empty. I don't want to jump to conclusions about what happened to it, but mostly what I care about is that I no longer have the soundbar and had to pay another $200 to replace it, however it happened. I've heard enough people have good experiences with the company to assume that my experience was isolated to this particular crew, but rest assured it will be my last experience regardless. read more

I cannot properly express how easy our move was thanks to these guys. We got a quote about ten days out that was less than half the price of the quote we got from New City, who I had expected to book based on personal recommendations. Two guys made everything so easy. We were able to book a Saturday morning in October on short notice for the exact time we wanted. They arrived on time, were professional, careful, and quick. Since we had both apartments for an overlapping month, we had started moving things and really only needed them for the large or heavy items. In less than two hours they moved everything we needed from our 2 bedroom in Logan Square to the new place in West Lakeview. Everything was unloaded and moved around at our request, sometimes more than once as we figured out what we wanted in each room. There was absolutely no damage. They shrink wrapped everything. When they were finished, it had not yet been two hours, so they shrink wrapped a few items that we are storing and made sure everything was where we wanted it. This was the least stressful move ever thanks to two guys and a van. Well worth the very reasonable $315 for three guys for two hours. The crew was professional, courteous and helpful. read more

Unfortunately, despite the fact that I provided a very detailed inventory list, the movers brought a truck with them that was way too small. After seeing everything for themselves in person, you would think that they would have prioritized our furniture/large items to go on first and then the boxes, but they didn't. Instead, they loaded the truck terribly, had to reorganize the truck and then still didn't fit all of our belongings onto their truck. The list I provided was even longer than what we actually had and they still didn't get everything. Now I have to make multiple trips on my own to move the rest of my stuff. They moved very slowly and weren't efficient in any way. Then they wanted to charge more for going over by 15 minutes claiming that they were waiting on me to arrive at the new place. Had they done everything right from the beginning, none of that would have been an issue. I'm 8 months pregnant and now have to worry about cleaning up after these guys and how unprofessional they were about our move. What exactly is the point of providing the office staff with a detailed inventory list if they are going to send a tiny truck regardless? My husband asked them if they had any larger trucks and he was told no. If the company is ill equipped to begin with, they shouldn't take on large jobs and screw their customers out of a satisfactory move. Thoroughly irritated and beyond disappointed. Such a waste of our time and hard earned money! 0/10 would not use these movers again nor would I recommend them to anyone else. read more

Excellent service! From the initial estimate all the way through the move, 2 Guys and A Van over delivered! We have moved several times and this was one of the easier ones!! I underestimated the number of boxes on the initial estimate, and customer service was very accommodating and responsive. On the day of the move, FIVE guys arrived and swiftly and efficiently packed up our stuff, including a difficult to pack/transport flat screen TV. We had A LOT of boxes and small loose items, and the team was very flexible and handled everything we threw their way. Pricing was fair and in line with the estimate. The movers took the time to explain any changes to us, including any restrictions they faced. We were very satisfied with the process and move. One minor suggestion for improvement is to carry a few extra empty boxes in the truck, available for purchase if needed. Fantastic job overall. We actually ended up having to re-schedule the move for a week later and they (spoke with Donna on the phone) were very accommodating. The guys arrived on time, actually a little early (gave 25 minute heads-up call) They were friendly, polite, professional and took zero breaks on a 95 degree day. They wrapped all furniture and big screen TVs in blankets and saran wrap. They packed our entire 1200 sq. ft. condo (we had 80+ boxes) in an 18 ft. truck (don't know how they did it). We were most impressed with how FAST they worked. The entire move from a 2nd floor condo to a 2 story house 22 miles away took under 4 hours! And the icing on the cake was that our final bill was $300 less than the estimate because they worked so fast! (They charge by the hour). I called and sent a request for a quote last week, and expected to receive a response within 48 hours as their website says. However, I never received the call. I decided to call today. When I mentioned that I requested a quote she asked for my number. She asked how many bedrooms I was moving from, I told her three, however we only have 2 bedrooms with only 2 beds. and 2 dressers due to other things not taking along with us. However, she stated that they don't move 3/2 bedrooms only studios and one bedrooms, due to them being a small company. It does not state this information on the website. An absolutely horrible experience with these movers and organization. After providing an updated inventory they sent the wrong sized truck that did not fit all of our belongings. We were told another truck would be coming within the hour and then did not hear back from them. We waited over 3 hours and heard nothing. New tenants were moving in so we had no choice but to leave our belongings. During this I had my elderly mother directing the movers. In the process of moving in they severely damaged several of my walls, and damaged my furniture. They did not complete the job and damaged our home/belongings. Their management was rude and blamed us for their poor logistics and planning. The best they could do was give us half off of the job, which we appreciated. We were initially told that we could file a claim for the damaged property. They have gone back on that and said they would not send the claims form because we did not pay in full. This is after agreeing that paying half was sufficient. They also did not send us a final itemized bill. Overall, a horrible experience and I would never recommend them. Easy, simple, efficient. These guys were good! I moved fairly early on a Saturday and received a few pre-move phone calls with head's up from the team. It had snowed overnight, but my movers were still right on time. Joe, Luis and 1 other guy (can't remember his name ahh!) were SUPER friendly! They were conversational and funny guys. I was quoted for 2 hours of labor and they were all very focused on keeping me at my quoted time. I had never seen someone carry 5 boxes stacked on their backs the way these guys did... I moved from a one bed apartment to a studio, so I didn't have too many things. Nothing was broken or damaged. I ended up going slightly over the 2 hour slot, but this was based on the fact that the freight elevator in my new building was accessible to all residents, so it was used simultaneously as a regular elevator, which slowed down the move in. At any rate, I was extremely happy with my move and happy to pay the extra half hour for their help. I have no complaints! Moving day went as smoothly and as enjoyable as a moving day could.
