Never been to Nando's, but my friend raved about it. I agreed to trying the place for lunch, but I thought it was mediocre at best. That said, I didn't get the rice bowls like everyone else. I ordered the halloumi sticks with chili jam and 6 lemon & herb wings. I'm a huge fan of halloumi, but their halloumi sticks were nothing to rave about. No better than grilling halloumi at home. The chili jam tasted like a sweet fruit jam. No noticeable chili pepper flavor or even spiciness. The grilled wings were OK. The wings looked undercooked based on the color of the chicken skin, but thankfully they were cooked all the way through. The lemon and herb flavor was lacking. I had to dress the wings up with the medium spice peri peri sauces and peri peri ranch to get some kick of flavor. Best thing about this place was honestly the service. I had a pretty good experience here! We came here for Sunday lunch with a large group and had no issues grabbing a couple tables around 12:30 pm. The ordering process was unique--the options were to order at your table via QR code, or at the counter. I used the QR code and it was straightforward. For two people, we split a half peri peri chicken with two sides--Brussels sprouts and fries with sauce. We also had a honey lavender lemonade. Everything was delicious, and everyone at our table enjoyed their food. Most of us ordered the chicken. Honestly I would order it all again, but I do think splitting the half chicken between two of us didn't stretch as far as we hoped. We were both hungry a couple hours later. So maybe these aren't the typical "American" oversized food portions we've become accustomed to. I'm not mad about chickens being a "normal" size, despite it meaning less food. I was definitely wishing for more fries. They were crispy and seasoned well. The sprouts were really good too. We were dipping everything in that mayo sauce. The lemonade was really refreshing! I could taste the lavender but my boyfriend thought it was more subtle. There are a lot of tasty sauce options for dipping, so it was hard to pick a favorite, but the garlic one was really nice. The flavor of the chicken was fantastic. The mac & cheese was made to perfection, the South African style rice was such a perfect touch to the whole meal. I was also very impressed by the well seasoned crispy fries that we tried. My favorite sauce is the lemon herb and what I love to do is mix that with the extra hot to get a nice lemon/herb/spicy taste going. The same could be said for the sweet potatoes, different but very good. The naughty Nana dessert was really good as well. I stopped by for a quick lunch, and as soon as I walked in I was greeted by a very sweet lady who directed me to the takeout counter. From the young gentleman who took my order to the manager who stepped in to help, everyone was kind, helpful, and attentive. I didn't wait long at all from the moment I ordered to when my food was ready, and it was still hot and fresh. I'll take that! And as always, the olives are my absolute favorite part of any dish. They are sooo good. Pricey, yes... but definitely worth it. I didn't get a picture of my actual food because it didn't make it to the photo stage (if you know, you know ), but I did manage to capture the ambiance. I love the theme and design of this location. It has been a while since we have been back. What a turnaround! Staff were friendly and helpful. Food remains is still as good. We ordered the jumbo chicken platter ( 2 whole chicken) plus sides of Portuguese rice, French fries, Brussel sprouts and Mac & cheese. The chicken was grill to perfection. Has the grilled taste on the outside and juicy on the inside. The grilled corn on the cob were sweet and did not have to put butter on it. We had to wait for the chicken as they ran out. It was nice of them to let us know and gave us a couple of free appetizers (garlic sticks & Halloumi sticks). Halloumi stickers were delicious! Restaurant is nicely decorated. Semi-dim lighting. I'm a big fan of Nando's and have visited this location multiple times. Normally, the food is consistently flavorful and satisfying. Unfortunately, my experience this past Saturday didn't live up to the usual standards. I ordered the medium Thigh & Mighty chicken sandwich--while the chicken itself was tender, the sauce and overall flavor were lacking. I'd rate it a 6/10, when it's usually an easy 8 or higher. My partner had the Nandoca's Choice sandwich along with the wings, and both were dry and surprisingly bland. A disappointing 4/10 :( I'm still a loyal Nando's fan, but this visit left us underwhelmed. I really hope the quality isn't starting to slip as time goes on. My first time, I ordered a wrap with the rice. I didn't like the rice because it was not to my standard. I grew up eating rice. I wouldn't cook rice halfway and add seasonings. I tried to use the online ordering method to get my food. First time it took forever and it failed to process. My second time here, I prayed really hard and it went through. I ordered the chicken livers. Man, that was so tasty. I believe they used the same seasoning for the grilled chicken. Oh Nandos! I was introduced to this chain while living in Reading, England. This place was my go to restaurant for flavor! The typical England diet is very bland. So, when I saw that they opened one right in Texas!! I was astonished. I know they were slowly bringing them to different parts of the United States. This is my fourth time so far, I love the cleanliness, the decor, and option to order at your table. This time I ordered at my table which I found was convenient. The service was great and the staff were attentive. I came during lunch so it was a busy crowd. They have ample parking and seating inside and outside. I typically order the corn, and mashed potato and the wings. The cocktail was pretty good, and complimented my meal. My friend suggested this place before our MFK perfume event in the Galleria. She and her fiancé love ordering chicken here. I've seen Yelp elite events here but had never been. The restaurant shares parking to various stores and other restaurants in a shopping center. It was a nice weather day, so we sat outside in the patio area. There's a table number you can text for ordering, and someone brings out the food to you. I ordered the limited spring special strawberry rose lemonade. It was sweet and tart as expected. Not sure I tasted much of the rose flavor but still good. I ordered the 3 chicken thighs (medium heat) with two sides - Brussels sprouts and mac & cheese. I thought the presentation was nice with the little flag showing the heat level on the grilled chicken thighs. Each side had its own container. Brussels sprouts were good. The mac and cheese was ok. The cheese sauce was a little runny and not very cheesy. I was a little disappointed with the chicken thighs. The grill taste was overpowering with that charcoal or burnt flavor. The chicken was also kind of dry which shouldn't be because it's dark meat. I expected a little more juicy flavor. The Peri Peri sauces come in a variety. I had the hot and garlic flavor. The sauces are too Tabasco-like for me, so I didn't care much for them. My friend had ordered fries which were seasoned and tasted better. I should've ordered that instead of the mac and cheese. This was my first time ever trying Nando's and I was pleased! I ordered a Kids Leg and Thigh Combo with a Side of Portuguese Rice. It came with a brownie. I also ordered some garlic bread. The chicken was soooo delicious. I chose the Lemon Herb sauce for mine and it was so good. The chicken was juicy, tender and seasoned all the way through and the grill flavor was amazing!! I did not care for the rice as it was dry and the amount was soo small even for a kid but i'd try the french fries next if I order again. The garlic bread was sooo good! It was buttery and the garlic was all throughout each bite. The bread was super soft too so that's a plus! Surprisingly the triple chocolate brownie was good too lol. I wasn't expecting much from it but if you like a fudgy dark chocolate type brownie then you'll like it!! Overall, I loved the aesthetic inside of the restaurant. It was very homely and represented South Africa! I also liked how they are very generous with the peri peri sauce options. Plenty of free parking available. Not crowded on a Saturday night. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cool and modern. At this location, you use a QR code to order and pay, and the staff will bring your food out. Water, sauces, and everything else is self service but easy to figure out. I took off one star just because some of the glasses at the water station were not clean and had streaks on them. The flavors of the chicken were amazing, and the meat was tender and juicy. Used my BOGO coupons to get a couple of rainbow salads with chicken. Thanks to the Yelper who gifted me their coupon. Signed up for the Peri Perks rewards program and got another salad with a bottle of Peri-Peri sauce. Three days later, I get a call from my FIL. Guess what? He loved it and wants to go back for another chicken rainbow salad. Avocado. Pickled cauliflower. Tomato, onion and cucumber salad. Hummus. Feta. Grilled chicken. Sprinkled with a super seed crunch and served over Portuguese rice. I added salad the second time around and an order of hummus with pita and veggies while we waited for our meal. Peri-Peri, also known as the African Bird's Eye Chili, is the key to the flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken. Nando's originated in South Africa, but Peri-Peri originated in Mozambique. The chili used at Nando's reflects the blend of cultures present in these countries and now shared throughout other parts of the world. Thanks for another wonderful dining experience. The mango and lime sauce was sweet and tangy. The Naughty Nata egg tart is a MUST. It is a Portuguese egg tart with a hint of cinnamon flavor. You can either order on your phone using the QR code on the tables or at the cash register. There's a bar with sauce bottles where you can bring to your table. I enjoy trying different ones each time because they are all so good. You can also get your own glasses of water and utensils at this bar. During my last visit, I was delighted to see that they have a lunch deal now! It is some of their main dishes with a drink for $12 or less. My favorites to order are the Peri Peri Chicken Bowl and 1/2 Chicken with the Lemon & Herb seasoning. The chicken was moist, there was a lot going on but everything meshed well together besides the pickled cauliflower (sour and pungent) and the avocado (I understand most bowls sold anywhere come with avocado but it didn't really make sense here). Tried this place for the first time last week after hearing all the rage about it in the UK for years and I can confirm it lives up to the hype. I really like the self serve model of the restaurant. You come in, pick your own seat and can order from the QR on the table and the food is brought to you. You are also given a plethora of sauces to try and choose from with your chicken and there's a sink by the side door to wash your hands. We got the peri peri bowl, tried the Brussel sprouts, and the huge side of fries. The bowl was flavorful, I loved all the greens and the creamy sauce it came with. The chicken was moist and juicy. The sprouts had a good roasted flavor and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. Overall the food is a 8.5/10 for me especially for a chain restaurant I was quite impressed. With so many locations on the east coast in the DMV area, it was only a matter of time before they made it to Houston. Now it's here and delivering the same quality chicken I remember scarfing when I was back in Northern VA. If you like spice, go for anything that's medium or above. The chicken is fire with the smoky grilled flavor combined with the sauce you decide on. Whether you get the wings, breast, quarter legs, or sandwiches, the chicken is tender, juicy, and filled with flavor. As for sides, the mashed peas are my go-to and the chips (fries) are some of the best for a fast-casual place. The brussels sprouts and cauliflower are also good options too. Food is always fire. Only issue I've had is the service with dining here as sometimes they do forget items or servers are hard to flag down for things. I've also had a few orders where minor things are forgetten (i.e. sandwich doesn't have all the toppings, fries aren't as crispy, etc.). Make sure you speak up if they've forgot something so they can fix it. And if you're getting items for pick up, check your order before you head out as sometimes they've forgotten items/sides. It's restaurant week so I got to sample popular dishes. Ordered 1/2 lemon and herb chicken. Absolutely delicious and juicy. Perfectly cooked. The Brussel sprouts and garlic bread were recommended as my 2 sides. I loved every dog gone bite. You cannot go wrong with the good or service. The staff are excellent and attentive. I can't for a yelp event last month and got a coupon for a BOGO entree so I came to use it. It didn't seem super full but I could tell everyone working was very busy so I did have to wait 5ish minutes to be acknowledged. For to gos they direct you to a bench in front of the kitchen to wait for your order. I felt like I was in the way as this is also where the servers pick up food to run to tables. The wait wasn't long and the man who made my food was very nice. I got some extra sauce containers to go. The food was good and the toppings went well together but I wish they threw in a slice of pita bread as there was a lot of hummus in the bowl. First time at Nandos and just happened to run across it while in the area. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted, seated and asked if this was our first time here. As soon as we said yes our hostess explained the two ways of ordering, up front or from our table using a barcode along with your table number. We chose order from our table. We looked at the online menu, input our order, and paid with a credit card, then waited for the food to come out. The wait time was average for freshly prepared food. Our appetizer was 6 small chicken wings, but i couldnt taste the mango lime, but the dip on the side added more flavor. Next up, our main dishes, the rainbow bowl and the spicy chicken Caesar. I really enjoyed the combination of flavors of the rainbow bowl and the sampling of the different sauces along with it. My husband enjoyed his chicken Caesar, but wished that piece of chicken was a little bigger :-). Enjoyed the causal, relaxed atmosphere and they even have outdoor seating. The sides we got were Portuguese rice, crispy Brussels sprouts, red skin mashed potatoes , and the Peri mac. All the sides were good but I recommend the red skin mashed potatoes and crispy Brussels sprouts to pai with the chicken. Their fries are good too. For drinks we tried hibiscus lemonade and the blood orange lemonade. Both were refreshing, I preferred the blood orange lemonade. Service was so nice to, for it being our first time there. I really like this place! I am a vegetarian so my options here are limited. I always get the rainbow bowl with haloumi cheese and a side of peri peri ranch. Not for me per se because I don't eat meat, but for the folks down here to experience food I formally loved. The host greeted me as I walked in and directed me to the cashier to place my order. I perused the menu and ended up getting the Rainbow Vegetarian Bowl ($13.99). I took some pictures as I waited for my food and realized how huge the space was. Plenty of seating for patrons, lots of parking out front and the service was pleasant and quick overall. I got my bowl to go but didn't fancy it much despite using most of the sauces I got. It was missing flavor and felt super bland. That's the reason for the three stars. FINALLY! I've been waiting for Nando's since moving from the UK. We're in Texas for a little while and definitely had to stop by to see if it was the same and we were not disappointed! From the lovely and beautiful decor to the music and of course the delicious food! We ordered a 1/2 chicken with chips and garlic bread and the chicken sandwich with rice and chips as well. Everything was so so good! Took us back home basically and I'm sure we'll be stopping by before we head back to Miami. We even ordered some to go right after we finished out dinner and took it back to the hotel The only thing that needs to be noted is the cleanliness of the bathrooms. We went with a party of seven and because we were paying for the meal it took forever to order on a phone :/ Only other negative was the young gal who brought our food out- she would definitely be better suited for a job with no public interaction- she nearly threw the food at you and ran so fast you were chasing her to ask where your side was and she didn't know anything, including what's on the menu?? But it does get better from there- the food is quite delicious! I love the mango lime sauce on the chicken. It's a nice light flavor that marries well with the char of the skin. The corn on the cob was yummy and the brussels are so full of flavor! Definitely a good place to come as you are, chill, and have a good meal. Props to the manager too because our meal was taking longer than usual to come out and he brought out two appetizers with his apologies. read more
