Chicken and rice definitely needs something else to the bowl. A salad? Something green to make it look more appetizing. Needless to say the place itself is a nice place. Customer service was good but the flavor was not up to my standard. I like the concept and the variety but the flavor disappointed me. Quite pricey but wouldn't mind paying more for a decent meal. I haven't been to Port of Peri Peri Sugar Land in a long time, but since I was in the area, I decided to see if the taste is the same. I made a good choice as the chicken is still very good. I had the 1/4 Chicken: Breast & Wing with Cajun Peri Sauce and mixed it with Lemon and Herb Sauce, and it was really tasty! Then I also got 4 tenders with regular hot sauce. This was yet another wonderful experience from the time we walked in to the wait time on the food and the young lady Jasmine at counter was exceptionally helpful being it was our first time here she took the time to explain the sauces and even allowed us to try a couple of them so we can decide. I decided on the quarter chicken with the hot peri peri sauce, rice and corn on the cob. Our first time here. We were a little overwhelmed with all the options in the vicinity but decided on Peri Peri Chicken and let me say I am SO glad we did! Upon entering the establishment we noticed it was nice and clean, spacious with plenty of seating. We were greeted by Jasmine and she was very nice and patient with us and our questions. She offered tastings of their sauces and was extremely helpful and friendly. Now the food.. AMAZING !!!! The chicken was perfectly flamed grilled with the perfect amount of charged and so moist and juicy. I got the lemon and herb and my wife got the hot and both were delicious. Having tried amazing Peri Peri chicken in Chicago, I decided to give this place a try on a late Thursday afternoon. I ordered the double chicken breast burger at extra hot spice level and mashed potatoes which arrived in about 5 minutes (only one other customer a seat in the entire restaurant). My sandwich initially only contained a single chicken breast, but I notified an employee and they quickly added a second one so no big deal. The sandwich is okay -- it tasted somewhat basic. The chicken certainly contained enough peri peri sauce, but it had an odd flavor and lacked the kick that I experienced back in Chicago. Not bad by any means, but also not something I would spend $11.75 for again. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes much more. It appears plain but had a nice savory taste to it. The dining area itself looks clean. It's nice seeing a well-maintained store both inside and out on such a rundown stroad. From the time we walked in to the time, to the time we walked out, everything was immaculate. First off, you order at the the counter which I did not get the vibe from when I was looking at pictures online, because it seems like a fancy restaurant. But it was lunch time and it was fine for us to order at the counter. I didn't even get any pictures of the food because we were so hungry and came to this location because I wanted to hit up a few different places in this plaza (there's so many gems in this area!). We got the half chicken and tried a few of the sauces that are near the drink station. The garlic one was my favorite. The french fries were delicious, and they had some sort of spice seasoning on top that I really liked. The salad was good, but it was kind of just like a mixed green salad bag type of salad. I thought it was going to be chopped up and maybe a special salad, but it was just a few greens. Nothing to write home about, but I like to have salad with chicken so it was fine. My absolute favorite thing was that they had a hand washing station near the restroom. So you really don't have to go to the restroom to just wash your hands. Best grilled chicken in Houston, the food, the environment and the staff everything is amazing

We were in the area and needed dinner, so we stopped by this plaza knowing that there were many food options available. Seeing quite a few customers inside the Peri Peri, we decided to try. I ordered a Mediterranean salad with peri peri chicken (with lemon and herbs sauce), my husband got the chicken wrap, and we ordered a kids chicken (plain) bowl for my son. The store worker said that the chicken bowl is their most popular item. Food arrived fairly quickly, and I really liked that all the available sauces were self-serve and you can just grab whatever sauce you liked. They do put the sauce you requested on your chicken before serving it to you though. Chicken tenders were well seasoned and not overly salty. It was also juicy considering that they were tenders (easy to over cook). My favorite part was that all the chicken had a nice charcoal flavor, and the outside of chicken wasn't burnt to death. Yum! Salad was fresh and my husband loved his wrap. Their rice (in the rice bowl) was also fragrant and well seasoned with spices. We all enjoyed it very much. There's also quite a few levels of spicy sauces, including the inferno sauce, which is their spiciest level. if you are a spicy lover, this place definitely has you covered! My only complaint about this place is that the rice tasted like it was reheated and not freshly made. Considering how fast the food came out, that really isn't a surprise. Nevertheless I still enjoyed our meal a lot and would come back. I got to chat with one of the workers after dinner, and she told me that the chicken is Portuguese inspired, while the sauces were African inspired. What an interesting combination of cultures! I've never had Peri Peri chicken before but after I tried the Peri Peri Factory, it quickly became one of my favorite foods. My favorite dish to get is the boneless chicken rice bowl with inferno sauce and the peri peri fries. The rice bowl portion is huge and I usually have to take my leftovers home. They have extra bottles of all the sauces that you can take to your table and I always grab a bottle of the inferno and garlic sauces to douse over my rice and chicken. The peri peri fries are so crispy and a must-try imo. If you are a spicy food lover the inferno sauce is also a must-try! It's my go-to and even though it's spicy, it is packed with flavor. My experience with the service here has consistently been great and my food always comes out quickly. So my coworker loves this place and I have been wanting to visit since I saw it being built (love the Peri Peri chicken I used to eat in Hawaii and I love Nando's when I travel abroad). We were the first people there on a Sunday morning (note they do not open until noon, we got there at 11:30 and had to wait) so we got extremely fresh food. The back of the house staff was courteous (they were running food), but they counter lady had kind of a blah attitude. My girlfriend and I both went with the grilled chicken breast bowl. She went with the salad as a side (note they don't really have salad dressing) and I went with the Peri Peri fries (French fries with spices/seasoning). The bowl was just rice and the chicken, decent but nothing I would crave. The fries were good. Maybe I just failed at ordering because everyone else in the restaurant had orders that looked a lot better. My biggest failure was that I did not realize they had grilled chicken tenders. My coworker said I should have gotten the crispy chicken sandwich (her go to). Will I be back? If I'm on that side of town, I will give it another try and get the crispy chicken sandwich. I have not been back here for a while use to really loved their food here. Always used to eat as dine in, but today it's takeout and I think the chicken is a bit drier and not as juicy. I've been to this restaurant in south Africa and in atl so I was excited when I saw it here, but disappointed when i tried it out. To start off we got 9 wings that tasted like i likes the grill itself. Too much charcoal. However their french fries are delicious and so was the hummus. The chicken wrap is a 3/10. Super plain. Recently, I have dined at this restaurant twice and here is my review. The first visit was for lunch and to try their chicken breast burger with a side of Peri Peri fries for $9.80. I chose the mild setting for my spice level on the chicken. After ordering at the counter and being assigned my table, I went to their self serve drink station to get my beverage and then took my seat. The food came out in about 10 minutes. It was a big sandwich with the chicken sticking out on both ends of the bun. The sandwich was dressed with lettuce and tomato and the meat was moist enough and not very spicy at all. I enjoyed it and liked the Peri Peri fries even more. The proprietary seasoning that is put on the fries is very flavorful and I want more of those. My second visit was at dinner and I chose the 1/2 chicken meal (again with mild spice) and a side of cole slaw. With soft drink and tax my cost was $16.95. Again about 10 minutes later my meal was delivered to the table. Looking at the meal my first impression was that the chicken pieces looked small. However I must say that the meat was juicy and very flavorful. Yes, I would have liked the bird to be larger but what I ate I liked. Next time, I will go up one level on the spice level because this meat wasn't spicy but full of Peri Peri's regular cooking flavor. The cole slaw was cool in temp and tasted good too. This is a very good place to eat. My only slight concern is that for the 1/2 chicken meal with one side, drink and tax, $17 is on the expensive side especially at a counter service restaurant. read more

After visiting the UK years ago I fell in love with Peri Peri wings! Living in the US this is the closest and arguably better of big chains where I've had such wings. I ordered the mild and hot wings. Wings were grilled and had a more dryish rub on them. You can ask for additional sauces to amp up the flavor! The wings themselves were huge and full of flavor. They were also tender. I also had garlic sauce for my peri peri fry and they were delicious! Loved the seasoning. Garlic is my favorite sauce for dipping wings and fries into! However, the food kept bringing us back, and finally we decided to go to the actual location. Walking in, you have your counter where you place your order and you get a number where they take out your order to you. I was most excited to try out all the sauces available. Again, the service was tlackluster. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't there. No emotion from the employees and they did not look like they wanted to be there.
