I went back in the next day and it was ready. Upcharged to $17 I assume some of the pieces came off in what must have a been anything but gentle wash. Again, understandable- it's homemade and accidents happen. But instead of telling me, they attempted to fix it, and in doing so, messed up the blanket even more. Pieces were sewn back on. Poorly. Many were not placed back where they came from, and because they were sewn on with a machine, many of the crochet stitches became warped. Some spots were sewn on so poorly that the thread was actually loose. Some pieces that were originally white came back gray, and this had been washed before so I know nothing bled colors. In conclusion: they did not do as I asked, did not tell me it had been damaged, and tried to repair it in such a way that they made it worse.

The staff was polite and attentive upon drop off and pick up. The cost for the 4 items I dropped off actually ended up being fairly reasonable as well. I was just a bit concerned about that as I wasn't told upon dropping them off. I was given the option of how quickly these needed to be turned around. Overall a very good experience. Nothing to do with Herman Jackson's, but parking is always an adventure in San Marco and it would be nice if they had their own parking. It would also be nice to have an idea of what the cost was going to be before leaving the drop off but the fact that it was reasonable more than made up for that. I declined because I remembered it was red fabric paint that my nephew had gotten onto my son's sleeve by accident. I gotten most of it off but fabric dye is tricky. That's probably not coming out ever. I paid my bill and headed to my husband who needed a shirt. He grabbed his white shirt that he had forgotten to mention he spilled coffee on. Which was still visible. I guess she overlooked that one because I would have had them reclean that one. I didn't notice until I got home that the dark shirts from my sister still had puppy fur on them. I used a fabric brush to clean that up. Overall, I am okay with the work. I would have liked a little more effort on their part even if they would have added more $ to the end bill. (I usually go to another dry cleaner but they are out of the way- they always took care of things that I might have forgotten to mention before.
