I went to 20 20 for a much needed exam, my last exam was over 2 years ago. As soon as I walked into 20 20, I was greeted by the staff. Dr. Kim was the doctor that saw me and she was very informative and caring. She was very thorough with the exam and told me my options for contacts and glasses. I've been coming here for years and it's always been a great experience - smooth, friendly, and quick. All the staff here including the Optometrist herself are all very professional and genuinely care about those who come in. After losing my first set of glasses and not having any for a year and a half, I decided I should give my eyes a break and get a new set of glasses. I had a very difficult time choosing what pair of glasses to use, and when the staff saw I was torn, they tried to help me in every way possible. I was able to choose the perfect frame thanks to them. Dr. Chen, Dr. Kim, and their assistants are all very patient with you so don't worry about getting on anyone's nerves (unless it's someone behind you who needs to go lol). I usually like to check up on a business that I have had service from, and read comments such as the ones for this business 20/20 Eyecare. It's funny how the 1 star people usually leave bad reviews or comments that are usually because of their own misunderstanding at the time of their visit or they straight up didn't get their way price wise with some ridiculous comparison. Okay folks, you can check with, say like Ray Ban direct for pricing, shipping, warranty etc..... Well, guess what..... yes they can give you "FREE SHIPPING" on returns or purchases IF you get from them direct. That's what BIG businesses can afford to do. But guess what, when was the last time someone got their eyes checked or examined at a Ray Ban facility??? Never. So before you complain about costs and service..... do your homework or learn about big business and/or about local small businesses and brush up on economics on how things work. And learn your own coverage of vision, dental and medical before you start talking smack on how much you had to pay or what you didn't understand. ..... hell.... you are the one who picks your own benefits "coverage" not to mention you pay for it through your employer or what not. So basically I ask and state..... DON'T BE IGNORANT TO YOUR OWN SELF. And if you don't understand what is explained to you...... don't be embarrassed. ..... tell them you don't get it and ask again until you really get it/understand it. If you are not satisfied with what you hear from a coverage stand point then call your provider yourself. But record it so you don't screw that explanation up too and you can play your recorded call for the place of service you have insurance for. Hope that all might make a little sense. But back to the beginning if not...... easiest advice here, just be nice and take your time it NORMALLY works out. I have had to take a pair of glasses a few months back because they just didn't feel right to my vision 2 days after i received them. I went in with a good attitude and explained what I was experiencing to the ladies at the front, Dr. Chen rechecked my vision and worked with me on a few adjustments. I was there for a good while because I CAUSED it. End story, Dr. C was right, recommending for me to give it some time to adjust. End result, I myself Fighting "myself" as a wanting a "I need it Now Fixed" kinda guy, ended up waited and sure enough everything adjusted fine before I realized it. Wrapping up here...... I have been coming to 20/20 EyeCare using my vision benefits for sometime now and YES had some out of pocket expense BUT I already knew I was not covered for certain things under my plan. After searching around for a high-rating optometry near home, I decided to give 20/20 a try. Dr. Susan Chen is the friendliest and most professional optometrist I've ever met. I came in for an eye exam and decided to get contacts for the first time. My exam went well and was fast! Pilar (not sure if I spelled it correctly) was my trainer for putting on contacts and she did a wonderful job! Very patient and friendly. My new contacts started to make my eyes dry so I called in sooner than my follow-up appointment and ask if I can switch contacts. Trinh answered my call and was very helpful as well as professional and set me up with another brand for my trial contacts right away. I picked them up and have had no major issues since! 5 stars! Only complaint is about the tree right out front of their office that drops little balls that gets stuck to your shoes... Lol read more

To start off, I'm new to the area. I would usually go to America's Best, even though it was out of network with my insurance but my family went there and had good things to say so that became my usual optometrist. Since I moved away from home I figured I'd find a optometrist in network with my insurance to make is easier on me and keep me from paying too much out of pocket. I'd rather pay out of pocket then to come back here. First, the doctor tells me I don't have an astigmatism despite wearing astigmatism glasses and contacts for over 10 years. Then I come back to get my contacts from them because they had to order my contacts. I get told my contacts are one a day because that's what I told her the first time. I NEVER told her I wore one a day, I said I wear contacts EVERY day. The doctor tells me I said my contacts were BioTrue, despite telling her I didn't remember the name of the contacts I had, BioTrue was the contact SOLUTION I used and said I would be open to trying a new brand. Never have I ever been to a doctor that has blamed me for their mistakes and had me leaving my appointment crying from frustration. read more

I have disputed the 40$, i was never informed or anyone discussed that this 40$ will go toward the return cost. I have filed a claim to "Federal Trade Commission" for the reasons below: §456.2 Separation of examination and dispensing (a) Fail to provide to the patient one copy of the patient's prescription immediately after the eye examination is completed. ( i still don't have copy of my prescription, and i don't have a copy of breakdown of my charges) (d) require the patient to sign, or deliver to the patient a form or notice waiving or disclaiming the liability or responsibility of the ophthalmologist or optometrist for the accuracy of the eye examination or the accuracy of the ophthalmic goods and services dispensed by another seller. read more

I saw the sign stating "No refunds" that they posted in their store, but was not concerned. I have never decided to return a pair of glasses and never worked with an optical shop that was unable to make a proper functioning product. With 20/20 Eyecare unfortunately, they tried three different times to make up lenses for a pair of frames of mine. Each time their lenses gave terrible vision. Some of the time it was difficult to walk safely and routinely it was difficult performing my job because of these lenses. Approximately four months I struggled like this while 20/20 seemingly guessed at spec'ing lenses. In addition, I was inconvenienced by driving to their shop perhaps ten times for fittings and re-fittings, as well as picking up and dropping off lenses. These issues were not due to the prescription I brought in. This changed only slightly from a prior one, and even now, older glasses still work as they had before. Additionally, a doctor at 20/20 examined my eyes and noted nothing wrong with the Rx. I have successfully worn similar types of lenses from other shops, and so it is not my eyes nor ability to adapt that are the issue. They made the excuse that the frames were to short, or did not sit properly, but even shorter frames have worked for me and all my frames sit at essentially the same height. They made excuses that the first person that did the fitting had to be let go. The reality is that all of their lenses had the exact same problem. 20/20 Eyecare admitted that they were out of ideas on what to do next to make up lenses that work for me. Despite this, they actually charged me a re-stocking fee. When I tried discussing this with the office manager, she did not call back after I left a message. When I came in, they said she was too busy. When I came back again, this office manager said she couldn't handle (what should be) a standard refund and that I would have to speak with an owner. The owner did not reply to my e-mail. Terrible customer service and no apparent ability to spec lenses for me. One to avoid. read more

I would give 10 stars if I could. I think we found the holy grail for eye care services. Dr Chen and her Staff are amazing. I brought the whole family in for a yearly eye exam. They were so nice and accomodating and we immediately felt at ease. My 8 year old boy had so many questions, like any normal curious little boy. You guys should have seen them with him. Oooh they were so good and patient and answered all his questions! Myself and my husband were very impressed with Dr Chen's clinical skills and expertise and the way she communicates is like no other. All Doctors should take note. 2020 Eyecare Center has 2 great doctors, Dr. Chen and Dr. Kim! They are very friendly and professional. Dr. Chen is one of the sweetest and kindest doctors I've ever met; she really cares about each patient and takes her time in seeing & getting to know each patient. Dr Kim is an excellent doctor and she provides great professional service; she's very informative, patient, and personable. The staff is great too! Patrick is an awesome optician and he really knows A to Z about glasses. He is sure to answer all your questions and has a great friendly personality. Watch your insurance and read the invoice carefully cause they overcharge/mis-calculated 2 of my visits. Also, when I ordered contact lens online and the online vendor contacted them, they said I wasn't customer and didn't have a valid perscription. Had to call them up and do another reorder. Terrible. Referred by Costco for eye exam. Bought contacts there that were completely wrong, they exchanged them (after basically telling me I was crazy). The next set didn't work either, I examined the box and found the prescription was filled incorrectly ( D - should have been a + ). So, wrong twice. Next, have been wearing progressive glasses for 20 years, bought expensive frames here but distance was off. They resent to lab, came back the same way and they refused to replace them again. I had to pay Costco to replace the lenses, which are now fine. Patrick is great and does the best he can there, but my advice is if Costco refers you to this place, ask for another referral. read more

The optometrist was very friendly and really took her time with me to make sure I got what I needed. The staff members were very friendly, professional and patient. They answered all my questions and explained my insurance coverage carefully. They laid out all my options for me and did not pressure me into getting anything. I've been coming here for 2 years and have really liked it here until the receptionists displayed multiple communication errors and did not seem to share my urgency when I had an emergency situation and ran out of contacts. I ordered my contact lenses prescription and they sent me the wrong prescription. I was down to 2 days worth of contacts at the point so that mistake was really stressful for me because I had to scramble to an unknown doctor's office and see if they had my prescription in stock. Then, they ordered the right prescription but said they could not send it to me until they got the other package with the wrong prescription back. I did so immediately. The people at the UPS store told me that 20/20 should have received the box they sent me back in 2 days. A whole 2 weeks had passed before they realized that the box was at the UPS store (Apparently the UPS store never notified them). This was also after only calling and leaving a message asking for a refund that they took this matter seriously and decided to call UPS. Because this whole process has taken a month, I have had to take my business elsewhere to an eye doctor where the receptionists are much more responsible and accountable to their clients. This is also not the first time that my prescription has been incorrectly sold to me. A previous time I came in-person and they sold me contact lenses for one eye and not the other. A good thing I was still in the parking lot when I realized this mistake because I could turn around and come back. 20/20 didn't like my review on yelp and asked me to delete it. I'm here to report my truth and my experience and not change it just because someone asked me to. I'm not here to rant, vent, or prevent their business from expanding. I want people to be aware of the pattern I have noticed and the way I was treated during an emergency so they can make an informed decision about whether they want to visit this office. Being able to have a reliable doctor's office where I know I can have my concerns attended to as promptly as possible is important to me because without my eye sight I can't even leave the house or go to work. I've been meaning to write a review about this place. I finally came across to doing so when I went to reorder more contacts. I came to this place because it was the only one close to me that accepted my last minute appointment. Dr. Kim was really good and she seemed to care about the health of my eyes but her staff - eh what a JOKE! After I gotten my eye examined, I went to pick out my glasses, of course it is the staff's job to up-sell their customers but I already had my mind made up! I forgot his name but he kept pushing me to buy the more expensive ones and to me, the ones I got were already expensive considering these were only plastic frame. Any who, it took them 6 weeks, yes count it 6 WEEKS to get my glasses! It took them over a month to get my 1st set because it was on back order. Fine, I was ok with that since I had my contact lenses. Well 2 weeks later, I finally get my glasses and guess what?! The idiot Optician who was suppose to verify my prescription before dispensing it to me, didn't notice or didn't think I would notice there were scratches on my lenses and dispensed it to me anyways. Well I wore them one day and I kept cleaning my glasses with the cloth they gave me and I was getting frustrated because what I thought was just dirt, didn't wipe off. After a closer investigation, I saw these all these scratches in my line of vision! I called them and they told me to bring it in and they'll inspect it themselves. Of course, he agreed with me that there were scratches and they'll have to keep my glasses to get another set of lens. OK, now how the hell do you expect me to drive home with no corrective vision!? I had to ASK them to give me a set of contact lenses so I can see. Oh and get this, the Optician who helped me (some fat short Latino fool) over charged me! I had to go back and show him my benefits and what was covered and he said 'oh, well that must be something new because we always charged our members this price.' I swear, he acted like I was born yesterday, little does he know I use to be an OPTICIAN myself! I know for a fact he's lying because on his sheet that he goes off of, tells him what is covered and what is not. So I know the BS he's feeding me. Any who, instead of having the lab cut me new lenses, they kept my glasses for another 2 weeks! No follow up, I had to call them myself to get the update! Needless to say, I won't be coming back here and for those who gave them 5 stars, you guys were the lucky ones. I have to agree with S.H. the Doc is great, but the staff is poorly representing this Optometry. I went there about 2 yrs ago for an eye exam and a frame. I chose this office because I live right across the street from it. Big mistake! Dr. Chen was nice but the staff was so rude. While I was selecting the frame, the female staff (in her mid 30's) was impatient and pushing. BAIT & SWITCH !! I called in to order contacts and the man that answered the phone told me I had to come in to get an updated exam. After making sure my insurance was good he told me to come in and it will be a co pay of $10 then he would order my contacts. When I arrive for my appt. they asked me if I needed glasses or contacts and when I told her contacts she told me it would be $87. What !! I had been a loyal customer and had gotten my last 3 exams from them, while I was at work the other day, one of my contact was bothering me and I ended up throwing it away. I did not have a back up in my car and my house was I far. I stopped buggier location during my lunch and asked if I can have 1 contact, (not a pair) they wanted to charge me 5$ for one contact.
