My 5-star review of the optical service at the Santa Clarita Costco: Dr. Berna Be (Bernabe?) was absolutely fantastic. She cared about my eye health, was extremely thorough and personable. She showed me my "eye scan" on her computer screen (the non-eyedrop exam you pay an extra $20 for--well worth it) in great detail. She told me where I could buy the best eye care products for my dry eye issue (which I hadn't even realized I had). She even took the time to discuss my husband's eye issues--even though he's not her patient (but will be soon). Of course, it's Costco, so the benches in the waiting area are hard on the glutes, even for babes like me with extra padding, but you're not there for your butt, you're there for your eyes. So get over it. Your butt may be annoyed but your eyeballs will thank you. read more

This is my second time here. Same wait time as last with an appointment. I was here 3 months ago because i lost my glasses and was due for another exam. Waited 45 min. Thought well sometimes maybe they are behind. Today I had an appointment at 5:15 and it is 6 pm now. Still one more person ahead of me. If i didn't need contacts i would have left. Do not come here unless you want to wait 2 hrs. The person ahead of me said she has been waiting 1.5 hrs and had an appointment. read more

The care quality was great. The minute I stepped into the office. They greeted me with a smile. The type of care they took with my eyes was good since I haven't been to the eye doctor in a while.. Absolutely Horrific customer service. I've been coming here for years seeing Dr Pedrisani. This year I scheduled with her and then showed up and saw a Dr Shakhakorn. She was rude and short and didn't listen, she gave me multifocal contacts and told me if I didn't like them which some people don't I could try something else. I came back today to try something else and she don't make any notes in my chart so they said they couldn't help me until I saw her only for a recheck. Mind you I'm going out of town and she's only there 1-2 days a week on weekends. The doctor working I thought was going to be helpful but then also told me "they don't have many in stock" when I just asked for enough contacts so I could see someone for a recheck then. Like it's coming out of his pocket. They gave me 5 pair which doesn't cover my trip or enough time to get an appointment with that doctor. They were so rude and uncaring - I've never experienced anything like it!! Go elsewhere it's not worth it! read more

Come here if you want to waste hours and hours of your life standing around :( Took my son out of school for his 11am appointment. Checked in and received zero communication about any wait time. Noon rolls around and there were still people ahead of us so we had to leave. I would think it would be pretty easy to schedule eye exams? No emergencies popping up in this field that I can think of that would explain 1+ hour wait with no communication. read more

Made an appointment on their website and when I showed up they said they had no record of it. They told me I would need to wait at least an hour to be seen. No apology, no apparent concern that their website accepts appointments that do not show up in their system, nothing. Don't go to the trouble of going here unless you're prepared to wait an extended period of time. Just awful. read more

After calling many times and getting no answers for the past 2 days. I did an appointment online with them. After arriving and waiting 40 minutes, I was call. The lady at the desk told me she sent me a message canceling my appointment 6 minutes before the actual appointment. They didn't verify, they didn't check or told me anything while I was waiting. I should have read all those reviews! First of all I paid $99.00 from my credit card for supposed walk in appointment to see Dr. Chen and my concern is this white stuff on my left lower lid and I have asked first the staff before seeing Dr. Chen if there is something he can do about that white stuff on my lower eyelid and staff said: The dr said YES. I thought I can also have my annual eye checkup since I will be paying. Dr. Chen prescribed me an ointment and eyedrops that is exactly same and that is why the Costco Pharmacy just gave me the eyedrops. Which btw I put that eyedrops religiously 4x a day as he prescribed and 7 days after, nothing happened as the white stuff on left lower eye lid is still exactly there and exactly same size. So I went back and Dr. Chen looked so confused and he was telling me that my contact lens has a problem! And I said: Dr you;re confused I came here for my eye stye. And asked him can you just give me my annual eye check for eyeglasses since I have already paid $99.00 for nothing. He did the quick about 60 seconds eye exam and he said wait outside??? And there a was this staff effing around and don't care while there's about 5 people waiting for the confused dr. I have waited and waited but nothing came out but I asked the staff if I owed anything and she said No and that's why I asked her to email my prescription. Can I please get a refund. I wasted my money and time!!!!Who is the manager? Please stop wasting people's time! Most people can only do their errands on those days and don't have time to waste! read more

I enjoy coming to Costco to do my eye exams even when I don't have health insurance coverage. This was my 1st time at this location, and it was everything I needed. The exam was very quick. I'd say it took no more than 15-20 mins, I am unsure if this is a normal speed because the Dr. had a family situation where she literally ran out after my appointment. The one thing that she didn't have was my actual contact lens for my right eye, she had ran out of the -2.50 ones. So she opted to giving me sample that were a little less power. It really wasn't that big of a deal. I would come back to do another appointment here in the future. read more

BEST EYE CARE BY FAR!! Both of the Doctors are great Dr Pedarsani & Dr Mohana. I've been coming here so long I can't remember when I started. I was not o able to come in because of Covid just cause I didn't want to hassle with Costco's restrictive entry. I MISSED THEM, The other eye doctor I went to wasn't hands like there are. Someone else did most of the exam and the Doctor was only in the room for a short bit. Dr Pedarsani & Dr Mohana Do the full exam themselves. They're never rushed they take their time to explain things they always bring up things that other eye doctors have not in the past they really take the eye exam seriously. The last time I was in I had floaters in my eye and I came back several times to have it checked and they were always pleasant and thorough on the re-exam. The did not charge for the re-check. No other office wouldn't do that they truly care about their patients. My mom wanted an easier place to get the eye exam done and she didn't like the place she was currently going to and really was impressed with this office. The doctor questioned something on the back of her eye that is not normal but has been there for years so it's OK they truly find and look in every nook and cranny for anything that may not be right and question it you will not be disappointed if you choose them as your eye doctors. read more

Although the exam was quick, Dr. Pedarsani was in such a rush she filled out the prescription incorrectly. She scribbled over the incorrect prescription with the correct one and put the exam date and expiration date as the same year. When it was time to purchase eyeglasses, LensCrafters could not reach the office to verify the prescription. I'm very disappointed and would not recommend this practice. read more

Dr. Nasim Pedarsani is absolutely wonderful! We had taken our daughter to another optometrist who didn't get the prescription right (even after multiple attempts), and our daughter was miserable. Dr. Pedarsani immediately knew how to correct our daughter's prescription, and we are so thankful that we found her. Our daughter has now seen Dr. Pedarsani for 2 years, and we are thoroughly pleased with her knowledge, accuracy, and caring nature. I came here off the recommendation of a friend when asking to find a cost effective eye exam as I have no vision insurance. For a comprehensive and contact eye exam it was only $89. Dr. Pedarsani was not in the office, but her weekend doctor, an Asian gentleman I cannot seem to remember the name of, was there. He was really friendly, and very helpful when discussing contact options. I would happily return here for my next exam. Another positive, if you pop over and order your contacts from Costco Optical, they are cheaper than places like 1-800-contacts. read more

I took my son to get and eye exam as I thought he needed glasses. Dr. Pedarsani was soo great with him. Patient, funny, thorough. She put us at ease and gave him a great exam. He loved her! She is great with kids! Needless to say, he didn't need them. Thank God! She and her assistant took time to show him his eyeball picture, which he thought was soo cool. Had an eye exam here. Dr. Nasim was very nice, and exam was very quick, but I thought it was too quick. Although, she did take some time to question about my eyes are and how they feel, etc.. I felt she was rushing into doing the exam. Somehow never recommended to have my eyes dilated to check further inside of the eyes even when I told her that my eyes felt very stiff and discomfort for some time. As far as the receptionist, she was very rude. Rather than greeting you with smile, she rudely asked "Can I help you?" She also ignores you when you try to talk to her or even ask question. Very poor customer service with unacceptable attitude. I will not return to this office for future eye exam. read more

Although the receptionist asked for my insurance information I was not notified that VSP was not accepted here. It was not until my entire exam was completed and the total came to $119 dollars! The staff is SUPER friendly and very accommodating to your busy schedule.My husband and I both needed to get our eyes checked and the front staff did her very best to keep our appointments back to back. Great doctor! My husband saw her and liked her a lot, so I gave her a try. She was quick, friendly, and thorough. Dr. Pedarsani and her assistant have a good routine down in the small space they occupy at Costco. Other places I've gone to may look fancy with their many rooms and reception area where they display optical products they sell, but you spend a LOT of time waiting in between when the assistant sees you and when the doctor sees you, and you get shuttled from room to room for each machine. You also pay double the price for the exam and they push their products on you at high markups. Here at Costco, Dr. Pedarsani gets you in and out fast without wasting your time, while also making sure they check your eyes well. You don't need a Costco membership to see her, but you do need one to fill your prescription with the Coscto Optical Department, which the membership price is worth paying for given the low prices of Costco and no pushy sales tactics. read more
