We were seated by the owner since we bumped into him while entering the restaurant. Our server explained it was the owner's birthday and we would be receiving complimentary bran muffins (those were delicious)!!! My mom ordered the grilled shrimp, cheese grits and braised cabbage. She would try another side in place of the grits next time but overall she enjoyed her meal. Went to this place on a Wednesday evening around 6. There weren't many people inside and the atmosphere is still the same if you remember the old Ruby Tuesday that was once there. It seemed as if they only had one server working at the time but she was nice and patient. I ordered a margarita which took a good minute to arrive but it was good. I will say the service was kind of slow but I can't complain since there was only one server (from what I could see). The food was very flavorful and hot when it arrived to the table. I was surprised at how big the shrimp were but the wings were somewhat small. Overall this was an okay experience, it would be a great place for early-day dining instead of dinner. read more

Don't let the outside of this place fool you. This former Ruby Tuesday is an excellent new restaurant! On our first night in Tuscaloosa, we were looking for a good meal away from the crowds by the school. This restaurant in Cottondale was a short drive with quality food. I started off with the 20/59 cocktail and while I don't recall all the ingredients, I will say it was it was a great drink in this hot weather. We ordered appetizers of Fried Pickles and the Hot Spinach Dip. The pickles were made better than I've had anywhere else. The chips that came with the dip were also very tasty. The appetizers were so filling, I had a Caesar salad for my meal...also delicious with a side of Mac n cheese! My one regret is that I didn't have room for Ms. Cynthia's Peach Cobbler. We went today (Sat. 5/3) They opened at 4pm and there was a line starting well before then. If that's the situation when you go don't let that deter you. It's worth the wait! Our party of 6 was seated fairly quickly. The food was really good. The spinach dip and the shrimp appetizer were my favorite items. When the food came the table got so quiet! lol!! I had the Caesar add salmon - cooked to perfection. Our server, Tay, was wonderful. He was BUSY working 3 larger parties but he was attentive and polite - worked very well under pressure. The only 'meh' thing I noticed was that there was a party celebrating a birthday. There wasn't seating availability for them all to sit together. I read the reviews and we decided to try this restaurant based on those reviews and this place did not disappoint. We got there early and had happy hour drinks that were fabulous! We also ordered the spinach dip which was great however could have been a little warmer. My friend had the pork tenderloin with squash and asparagus. I had smoked chicken with asparagus and baked potatoes. Both meals were amazing!! And our server was absolutely wonderful and sadly I can't remember her name however I can say Roll Tide! We spent 15 minutes waiting for someone to come take our drink order. Not one single person came to our table. HOWEVER, the young lady that came in 10 minutes AFTER we did got her drink order taken and delivered to her table AND her order taken. The owner walked past our table 3 times. It wasn't until we got up to leave that we were even acknowledged with a half-a$$ed "No one has come to your table?" Nope! He was the only one waiting tables so I'd guess not since he didn't want to even bring us waters. He also half heartedly said "oh man, I'm sorry." He saw our menus sitting on the edge of the table showing we were ready to order and still didn't acknowledge us. One of his employees was walking around cleaning already clean tables. Another one walked outside twice. They were not busy. Maybe 4 tables had couples at each one. The ambiance at 20/59 when you go in is very nice. It used to be a Ruby Tues but you can't tell. It looks much better inside now than when it was RT. Ample parking, for sure, around all sides of the building. It's at a very convenient location right off of the highway, Exit 77. Inside gives an "open" and bright feeling. The menu is the best thing ever. Why, you may ask? Well, because it is not the length of an encyclopedia. It's very streamlined. There is just the right amount of menu items, in my humble opinion, to make ordering east and quick. Of course everything SOUNDS great, so that may slow you down, trying to decide which tasty entrée to pick. I was there with 3 other people and everyone's food looked so amazing. I had the Bacon Wrap Boom Boom Shrimp and it was divine. Everyone else I was with loved their foods too. One thing that made a huge difference was that the owner was present, bussing a table or two, helping out. And he came by to visit and check on use. That was awesome.
