    Southern Ale House!
    Pat M.

Last night my wife and I visited the Northport location of Southern Ale House. Even though it's about 20-30 minutes outside of Tuscaloosa, it was packed on a Friday night. If you're coming here, you definitely want to opt for the outdoor seating. The setting is beautiful located right on a lake. We had to wait about an hour for a table, but we got drinks and sat down by the lake while waiting. When we did sit, our table was right up in front where live music was playing. Very nice! For food, we opted to start by splitting a biscuit appetizer. My wife had the Southern Caesar Salad and I ordered the Sliders off the appetizer menu. I loved the sliders! I believe it's a pimento cheese they use and it's delicious! All in all, lots of fun in a new spot for us! If you're taking your kid back to school at Alabama or just visiting the area, give this place a try!

Went here for someone's birthday on a Saturday for lunch and to watch March madness! Located right on Lake Tuscaloosa. Great outdoor and indoor seating options! Staff were very friendly and did not have to wait to be seated! I got the bama chicken biscuit sandwhich with watermelon and it was great! The white sauce had a little spice to it! Others at my table got the meatloaf, pickle burger with sweet potato tots, prime rib biscuit sandwich, chicken fingers with mashed potatoes and crispy chicken salad. We did get the pub fries and buffalo pimento dip with homemade chips which were great if you like a little kick! Great place to bring a dog and eat outside, watch a game with your buddies at the bar or have lunch/dinner with friends/family. I loved all the food I tasted and will definitely be back!

The beer selection is solid and everything we've tried has been excellent. My personal favorite is the OG. If you like trying different styles and switching things up, this place definitely delivers. This time we ended up getting hungry and ordered a pizza from the adjoining restaurant and winery. I'll be dropping a separate review on that soon. Overall, this spot is consistently a good time and worth stopping by.

The BrewMaster works behind large glass windows making the brews. Pretty cool !!! They do have music, trivia on various nights of the week....... Easy, Grab a corner for your "gatherings" and have fun !! The beer is plentiful, not a super large selection but something for everyone. I had the Amber Lager..... very tasty with a clean finish. The patio doors are the big, glass garage style doors that I imagine would be great opened in good weather.. Wood Fired oven Pizzas are ordered next door @ the Bloom Winery. We didn't eat but it smelled & looked good. We would stop again.

The wait for our party of 5 wasn't too long and we were seated in a big booth near the bar. Very nice decor, classy but comfortable. All of the servers and staff were super friendly and offered a nice selection of local brews and tasty margaritas. Several of us had the redfish special which was just outstanding! All in all, and outstanding experience. Definitely a repeater for us when next we're in town.

Wife wanted a salad and potato skins so went with the wedge which came chopped so more of a chopped salad than a wedge and it was fine. Nothing spectacular. Who potato skins were reminiscent of some frozen ones you heat in the oven. Didn't seem fresh at all. The bacon wasn't that great really and the cheeses was cheese. All in all edible but not enjoyable. I went with the bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes with gravy and a side of Mac and cheese. I'll start with the Mac. It was horrible. Sorry don't mean to be a downer but wasn't good at all. The mashed and gravy a big nope. The potatoes weren't all that good. It was like eating a plat of spackle. And the gravy was horrendous. Made bad potato's worse. The meatloaf was ok. Kind of like cafeteria meatloaf. I did eat it but wasn't thrilled. Again not a fan of that bacon so ditched that after one bite. Personally I would not go back and wife agreed. Maybe we got the wrong items but nothing was good.
