I'd say I come here pretty often, they renovated the place recently to a more inviting upbeat atmosphere. The food is always good , I recommend the quesadillas and churros with strawberries. The servers are nice and amazing, and I love how they have events happening all the time. They don't have any drafts for beer and prices are moderate but overall a good spot to check out once or twice. read more

Came for a guest bartending night at the Christmas pop-up called "We Believe". The bar was mostly full, but there were 2 high tops (standing only) and 3 bar style seats along the window available. They have TONS of Christmas decor, ornaments, trees, props, etc. They also have touch tunes and a Santa chair with a Santa hat We tried about half of the featured cocktails and my favorite was definitely the Grinch cosmo. Super fun presentation with a tart taste, not overly sweet. There's one unisex bathroom that was surprisingly clean. The food was delicious, but WARNING for those with allergies: NO SPECIAL ORDERS! It doesn't say it on the menu, which is even worse, since our waitress had to explain it and that changed some of our orders drastically. I liked the atmosphere & I'm sure I'll like it when it's not holiday themed, too. On karaoke night, if you sing you get a free margarita & thankfully, all the singers were good. The new location for the Brown's watch bar in Pittsburgh is pretty decent! It's your typical average American - Mexican bar/restaurant. While nothing necessarily stands out as special, it was all pretty good (except for the street corn dip...that was weirdly cold & mushy). The queso & guac with homemade chips were a good appetizer to share, and the quesadillas were a good sharing size too (although they could have used a lot more flavor in my opinion, the amount of cheese & meat inside was filling). The bartender was quick & friendly (which was impressive because she was the only person working the whole bar). We stopped by for some margaritas and tacos since it's close to where we live. The place was crowded and seemed like a lot of locals which is terrific because Bellevue needs more local eateries with bar service. The bartenders were cranking out beers, shots, and margaritas left and right while waiting on the bar for food too. They were great! The tacos are pretty straightforward and what you could whip up at home with a bag of shredded cheddar, a can of pickled jalapenos, sour cream and some protein. I had the pleasure of dining at 202 Hometown Tacos. I would more than likely return. My friend and I went for dinner. We shared an order of nachos with 3 dips- salsa, queso, and a corn salsa. The salsa was just ok, I wasn't a fan of the corn dip, but the queso was fabulous. For the main course, I went with a spicy shrimp tact- sooo good, and a regular ground beef taco- it was super salty and I wasn't a fan. But, I'd definitely get the shrimp again. The srvice was top notch. Brandon our server, was amazing. I'd go back just because of him! The ambiance was super cute. I've tried this place out twice, ordering different menu items in hopes of something better I suppose. The food is really sub par. Don't get me wrong, it's good but not the quality I would expect out of somewhere that is specifically a taco shop. My first time around (not pictured) I ordered 3 different tacos. The chicken and jack fruit were good, but the carnita was dry and bland in flavor. This time I ordered a bowl (pictured) and it reminded me of something I would eat stumbling home from a drunken night of bar hopping in college. Like I said not terrible, but not great quality either. I also requested no pork on my bowl and received pork anyways. They were busy so it's an easy mistake when throwing this together and being in a habit of putting this together as you go down the line. Margarita was so sweet it hurt my stomach and gave me heartburn. I actually didn't finish it because of this. The first time I ordered here, I was able to wait inside for the food. While they were offering dine in, due to covid I opted for to go. The vibe inside seems more of a drinking hole with karaoke and happy hour flyers posted throughout. Maybe their food quality matches what they're going for here. I'm giving 4 stars because I think this is what they're going for and if it wasn't for covid, I'd happily drink some beer at their bar while enjoying karaoke.. Detailed Review: Carne asada taco: 4/5 Had pretty good flavor overall. The meat was also very tender and not over cooked. In general I prefer my tacos in corn tortillas but they only offer flour. Chicken tacos: 2/5 Not very flavorful at all. Tasted like unseasoned chicken with plain slaw on top. Overall it's a decent place and the servers were nice but it didn't really stand out. Super cute spot! The bartender Kevin was also our server. Although he was there alone and had multiple guests he was incredibly efficient and attentive to every customer. He even used my partners correct pronouns! This is definitely a place you can enjoy regardless of your personal identity. Food was also delicious and came out promptly. Happy to see this new edition to the neighborhood. Definitely more thrilled about its arrival to the area than I am with the tacos ordered. They were good, but far from great, and lacked substance. A few pieces of lettuce and tomatoes were observed, and after a few bites, it was all over. Taco portion was very small. I like their simplified menu but it fell short of excitement. One item was already blocked off the menu. Time will tell if it holds its own. I did enjoy the house made dips. Very flavorful, and satisfying. Atmosphere is on the loud side since they have the option of opening up 2 garage doors for a more open feel, but the outside vehicle traffic becomes part of the dining area and bar noise. Overall, worth another visit to see if I missed something the 1st time. Bar area is comfortable, and service provided was helpful. read more

I came here with a group of friends after a Yelp event across the street. I love tacos, so it was an easy decision to stop by- especially after seeing it was a hot, new business. The atmosphere was very odd to say the least... our waiter was a boy who usually works the line... he told his girlfriend that serving is easy so they traded places for the day. It's very odd that a new restaurant would allow this to happen. I found it extremely unprofessional, especially since he couldn't answer any of our questions. I ordered a mango margarita, two tacos, and a side of chips and queso. The queso was pretty cold, which was very disappointing because that's usually my favorite part! In addition, when I asked for pico, they were out. In my opinion, a Mexican restaurant should run out of pico?! On a positive note, the tacos were pretty good and served in large portions. The beef taco was definitely my favorite whereas the buffalo chicken taco didn't have as much flavor. The service was good until we were overcharged for the cheese quesadilla. The physical menu in the restaurant and the website menu both say $6, yet we were charged $7. The server and manager refused to fix it. Promising one price and then charging another is against the law in Pennsylvania. The food itself was average. The fried cod was the main highlight and was very good. Nothing else was worth returning for. The rice in the build-your-own bowl was crunchy at times, from some of it being either overcooked or undercooked and mixed-in with a fresher batch. The sautéed onions are apparently a 50¢ upcharge (no mention of this by the waitress or the menu) and were not fully cooked (some were still raw). The side of sour cream provided for the cheese quesadilla was served runny (because it was possibly allowed to sit out too long at room temperature). A side of lettuce was inexplicably provided for the cheese quesadilla. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to provide salsa that I can dip the quesadilla in? What am I supposed to do with a side of lettuce? Finally, they charge $7 for chips and dip (if the menu price is to be believed) and they don't even bother to make their own chips in house. You will find more authentic tacos from a Taco Bell. read more

You can order predetermined tacos and burrito bowls or you can design your own. It's very affordable with some tacos starting at $3. The chips didn't appear to be homemade the last time I was here. There are vegetarian options (not sure about vegan though). There's a bar area with TVs and a TouchTunes jukebox. The main seating area has tables and some high top wall seats. The steak was so tender and had some nice heat to it. The pork was smokey and flavorful. The chicken was avacadoy, cilantro goodness. Definitely coming back for more. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it does have optional seating on the outside of the bar making it dog friendly. Initially during Covid all meals were takeout, but they are now offering dining in the bar. The tacos vary from spicy to sweet, with many of them falling on the sweet side. This is not our preference when we have tacos thus some of the lower rating. The bar is fairly well stocked, But really runs to margaritas, beer and white claw. I stopped by here a couple of Tuesday's ago with my wife for dinner. We had been past 202 Hometown Tacos a couple of times since it had opened and were interested in giving it a try. The inside of this place was large with a bar on one side and tables throughout the rest. There is a place to order takeout near the back and they had the front open to Lincoln Ave on the day that we were there and you could sit in a high top seat overlooking it. For dinner on this day I decided to have three separate tacos and went with the pollo, buffalo chicken and pulled BBQ jackfruit. The menu describes the pollo as ancho chicken, avocado aioli, cilantro slaw and cotija cheese and the pulled BBQ jackfruit as coming with onion straws and cabbage slaw. Whenever they were first delivered I couldn't tell them apart as I didn't have a menu to look for the ingredients but I ended up starting with the buffalo chicken. I didn't find it to be spicy at all and so I actually thought that I had started with the pollo. In any case the buffalo chicken taco here was fairly boring with lettuce and tomato toppings. What I did enjoy was the heaping portion (at least compared to the taco shell) of chicken inside of it. Actually all of their tacos had a good amount of meat in it which was nice. Up second for me was the jackfruit taco and I have to say that I enjoyed it. The jackfruit was a nice meat substitute and the bbq sauce on it was flavorful. I also enjoyed the crunch and flavor of the onion straws. Last but not least for my tacos was the pollo. The chicken was good while the avocado aioli gave it a good taste with some wetness too. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Was it the best taco I have ever had or even in Pittsburgh. Definitely not! However I did enjoy them and would be happier coming here than one of the fast casual burrito chains. read more
