The food is always good and consistent. I've primarily had bar food and snacks, but when I have had a salad it's always been good.

The hangover burger left me drooling!!!! Highly recommend also the sweet potato fries are to die for!!!!!

Small place by the common. Popular lunch spot for those working in the area but still fast enough service for those with limited time. I read on previous yelp reviews that the sweet potato fries were a must have. They really were some of the best sweet potato fries I have ever had! They were crunchy but also crumbly. The perfect texture. I had a special, it was a salmon burger with bacon and I think it was a roasted red pepper aioli (which came on the side -I was pleasantly surprised). My friend had the Caprese sandwich. We both finished everything and they were definitely not skimpy portions. Definitely will be going back to try their burger, and turkey club. 21st Amendment has a fantastic cozy atmosphere. We've only been during off-peak hours after movies on weeknights or weekend matinees, but the 21st Amendment always serves up great beer and delicious food at very reasonable prices. It's a favorite of ours whenever we're in the area. read more

This place has an amazing atmosphere and such friendly waitresses and bartenders. They are always making sure you have what you need and do it with a smile on their face. And the food is delicious! Noisy, but great bar to meet friends for a couple of drinks. Dark and stormies are solid, as are their nachos (def big enough to share). Went on a Friday after work and had to finagle seating. My bf and I love 21st! We live right next store and it's our fave neighborhood pub! The atmosphere is great for drinks with friends and the food is also delicious. Our favorites are the chili, steak tips, buffalo tenders, and sweet potato fries. The buffalo tenders are so filling we can barely finish them along with our entrees! We haven't tried the nachos yet but I hear they are the best around. We always brings friends and family in...definitely check it out. read more

Last night was my first visit and I was happy with the service. I had three guests with me and there were plenty of open tables. I ordered the flatbread pizza and am definitely a fan of it. The staff is consistently amazing, everyone is always extremely friendly and so diligent. I love this little place. Tucked in Beacon Hill, it's your typical dark pub that's very cozy. One time, I sat at the bar and the other I was seated by the fireplace in the traditional dining section. Service was attentive, and the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken quesadilla for a meal, and it was filling and delicious. I also highly recommend the nachos. read more

Great atmosphere: you feel it is steeped in history, being right by the State House and all in dark wood like a pub in the UK or Ireland, and it looks equally authentic. The staff are on the ball, the food is very satisfying as pub food, and there is always some good craft beer on tap. For a bar, this place seems to be more geared towards the happy hour crowd. We showed up at 9 and got very inconsistent service. They seemed to be flustered that we dared show up that late (to a bar!) They told us the kitchen was closing soon, but we were able to get buffalo chicken nachos. They were delicious! read more

21st offers great food and a fun atmosphere. I go frequently after work days to get a quick bite to eat and the staff is always friendly and accommodating! I've never had a bad experience with my food not being hot or exactly what I ordered which can be an issue at other restaurants. Also I can't stress enough how friendly and polite the staff is. This is not always the case in Boston! 21st is truly a great place to eat if you're going on the weekend with friends/a group to stay for a while or just by yourself to get a quick bite! read more

We loved this place! My boyfriend and I were here on 10/10/16, Columbus Day. We were only in Boston for the day, as we were on a Princess Cruise. After checking out the usual "Boston" things, we wanted to find something more local. This was the perfect place. As soon as we stepped in, we felt at home. The staff was great, the regulars were so friendly. It was Columbus Day, so lots of people were out of school and off work. The place was busy, but we still received excellent service. We are from IL, so we won't be back anytime soon, but I can guarantee we will make a stop at 21st Amendment the next time we are in Boston. Our drinks were great. I was visiting Boston this weekend from Baltimore & I can say that this bar was tops in every category! You may not know what drink you want, but they will ask you what you like & create something very good based on your preferences. The food is also very tasty based on a limited menu. Out waitress Shay was very helpful in recommending drinks & food. Also since I was a tourist, she was very helpful in recommending other places in Boston that I would enjoy. Historically this place has some great roots & the workers are friendly as well as knowledgeable about the area. I would recommend it to anybody. read more

This was our first visit and we loved it. This is a quaint bar in the heart of the city. The dim lighting, pumpkins placed on the window overlooking the state house and the fireplace all gave a very cozy feel. The atmosphere was great, not too loud. The service was friendly, fast and attentive. We ordered the buffalo wings which didn't blow us away, but were really good. All said, I would definitely visit again. read more

Now, I haven't been here in ages, but before I moved to Boston and passed this place on vacations (I was well under the age limit) I was intrigued and vowed I'd get there. When I moved, I only came a few times, but that's not because I didn't like the ambiance or anything--it's one of my favorite bars in Boston. (I was just a Crossroads and Cornwall's and, later, Plough and Stars patriot.) I need to get back, but I really dug this place a ton. Right beside the State House - and it doesn't pretend to be something it's not. Great casual american cuisine. Tons of atmosphere. Place feels like it it was built the moment the pilgrims landed. I like this place. I met up with some friends and arrived early, so I had a glass of wine at the bar. The service was friendly and low-key. We told one of the servers that, in a short while, we would need a table for a group of six, and she was very helpful in saving us a big corner table, despite the busy dinner rush. Even when two of our friends did not end up showing up, she didn't act like it was the end of the world -- she seemed happier to help us than to turn over tables. The food was pretty good as well -- I had a salad with goat cheese, cranberry, and loads of grilled chicken. I might try to stop in here next time I find myself downtown late at night. Small cozy place with decent pub food. Varied menu with good options. I got the artichoke and prosciutto pizza which was good, but salty. The portions of all of our meals were good; we could have had leftovers. The staff was friendly but did mess up my friend's order. It was quickly corrected so no worries. Just went to Boston for the first time and had researched for pubs ahead of time. 21st Amendment was AWESOME. We sat in the back room with the fireplace where JFK used to write campaign speeches. Went here Sunday night with my wife for the first time. Great spot to stumble on. Went in about 8 pm and was a little crowded but we're lucky enough to get seats st the bar. Bartender was very efficient. I ordered nachos and the girl working the floor delivered them in minutes. The bartender and waitress handled this busy room very well. The nachos were the best I have ever had! Will defiantly go back!! This will be our go to spot from now on!! read more

This is my local bar, and I adore it. Their food is really good for bar food, especially the buffalo chicken nachos and the tuna melt, which is the love of my life. Waitresses are super friendly to the point of over friendly, but not in a bad way. They're beautiful and bubbly, and that's just fine. Drinks have always been good; my boyfriend likes their manhattan a lot. They do ketel one martinis that make me smile, and they have sweet tea vodka, which is still pretty rare for these parts. Honestly, it's just a good, warm place. Yeah, you can see some weird stuff here if you come when there's a lot of suits. and that's part of the fun. We came in here once this summer when UNH girls were doing bodyshots off guys on the bar.. at like 6pm...it was totally out of place, and totally awesome. read more

Situated across the street from the State House, this little bar is great place to grab a few drinks and a bite to eat. The inside of 21st Amendment stays true to the historically significant Beacon Hill area and creates a nice atmosphere for a casual pub experience. The burgers are pretty good with a nice $3 draft of PBR to wash them down. For this part of Boston, you cannot beat the prices. read more
