Compassionate Care Hospice lives up to its name. They…read moreprovided compassionate care to my dad his final two months. Every team member demonstrated this compassion; from the bathing aid (Ronnie), nurse and case worker (Anastasia), social worker (Sandie), Admissions Director (Gaza), to the Bereavement Coordinator (Nathan). Please forgive me for other team members that I didn't have the honor of meeting in person but I thank you as well. This team constantly updated me on my dad's condition and made sure I was well informed as to what to expect next. I don't know how the owner (Joey) accomplished such a feat of finding an entire team with compassion, but I am thankful that he did. We never had a need for supplies or equipment, and when a team member made a suggestion for different supplies or equipment it was immediately executed. Thank you Joey and your team for going above and beyond the "standard of care".

Below are OFFICIAL findings directly from the FINAL report by the California Department of Public Health (Complaint Number 2641478), which indicated that Compassionate Care was being investigated based on multiple serious complaints within a short period of time -- yet it continues to misrepresent the findings by the Department of Public Health. If they spent as much time combating negative reviews by their customers and fabricating disinformation as they do on patient care, maybe they wouldn't have so many one-star reviews to begin with. "The initial plan of care, updated plans of care, initial assessment, comprehensive assessment, updated comprehensive assessments and clinical notes - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on record review and staff interviews, the hospice failed to ensure completion of clinical record to reflect the family member's concern regarding a change in the patient's condition. This failure created the potential for not having the patient's current condition to provide necessary care and services for the patients. " "Signed copies of the notice of patient rights in accordance with Section 418.52 and election statement in accordance with Section 418.24 - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on staff interview and record review, the hospice failed to ensure the written addendum showing diagnoses and non-covered items was completed with the actual date completed/provided to the patient/family member... This failure had the potential for not having an accurate information on the patient's clinical record." Read the above for yourself and see if you believe the official report found no deficiencies as asserted by Compassionate Care. There is a clear lack of ethics and humanity toward their patients. A simple phone call or email to the grieving family with an apology would have been a good start, and yet they are incapable of admitting their shortcomings and chose to fabricate results of the findings. I urge anyone considering Compassionate Care to contact the California Department of Public Health regarding the complaints and think hard about whether you would want this organization to care for your family member during their last moments.

The nurses and CNAs are really responsive to my needs, (particularly with pain management) and are very pleasant as they carry out their duties. Doctor Purshell is very compassionate, and tireless in her efforts and her commitment to her patients. The dietary department takes great care to ask what the patients likes and dislikes are. The food leaves a lot to be desired, however, but this is an extremely common problem in this type of facility. Physical therapy has been helpful, too. They have helped me regain my strength. I should add that my husband was here in 2025 for five months, recovering from a broken hip, and I visited him almost daily. When I arrived for my convalescence, everyone here remembered us, and were sad to hear that my husband had since passed away. I hope to not need to return to any skilled nursing facility in the near future, but it's nice to know that Anaheim Healthcare is here, should I need their help.

I was transferred from St Joseph Hosp to have my pain mgt controlled and rehab my spinal surgery…read more I was delivered like an old package by the emts to my bed. I was put in the middle of two beds and left there. I could not move from my back surgery. I just laid there. It was very late. I hadn't eaten. They said I missed dinner. Finally a nurse said do I want a pbj? I said yes. But, no water no nothing. Again, I can't move. No evening meds. I said I was way past due for my pain meds and evening meds they said they were waiting on st Joseph records. I said its been 15 hrs! They showed me the reports, they had double pages. I showed them how simple it was to tell them what to send. Or just REESEND,the ENTIRE report. Im the PATIENT, why am I problem solving? In the meantime only one or two of meds all wrong time of day. The never answer call button. I was by this time off serious meds, no pain meds and no dr came in. Two PT techs came in got me up and they were saying how good I was! And surprised I was there. No meds, mentally exhausted, physically strained in pain and just laid in bed. They Again showed me a report. I Again said u can see the errors of the pages not sent! Then, one morning a dr was in room talking to nurses, I yelled hey, who is this? I haven't been examined! Dr Victoria is tried to ask why he removed my regular m eds? I was there for back rehab! He said he wouldn't give me the doses. I hadn't had my meds in days, no decent meal, no juice, no crackers no nothing. He finally said he'd only do one. Left. Where was I? Im really scared at this point. Oh, then a worker came in and said my mom and family was asking questions and if they could release info. I said absolutely not! Come to find out info was released. I was so weak. I called my insurance to report. Then a worker came in and said I was getting a med back. But it takes time. The next am at 8am I called an Uber. I walked myself found lobby . This place is nothing like the rooms pictured. It's very old. The very bad and portioned odd. I should have taken pics. Got names. I was just too exhausted. I'll be amend my original complaint with ins adding everything. At home, I had a caretaker and ate , got my meds and started to immediately get better.

After a medical condition left my mother unable to walk she ended up in a skilled nursing facility for physical therapy to get her mobile again. Her doctor recommended 24 / 7 care. I called and spoke with Ryan who came out the very next day. We talked in detail about Mom's needs. He was comforting, reassuring, friendly, personable, polite, professional and knowledgeable. He made sure to include my mom in on the conversation. I've been with some people that overlook the patient as it may be easier and faster to converse with whoever might be assisting them. He made sure she knew she was the primary party in this process, listen to her needs and concerns and described in detail what they had to offer. Day nurses were MIRKA and ZARA. Their primary job was to see to Mom's safety as she was pretty much having to learn to walk again. They worked 12 hours shifts. They helped her to get in and out of bed, shower, keep her medications in order, got her meals, and assisted with the dog. They did laundry and changed bed linens. (We made sure not to ask them to do anything outside of the scope of their job description.) They took her vitals throughout the day and assisted with her physical therapy. They logged all that they did for her and noted how she was doing with things and progress she was making. Esmeralda was the night nurse. Also a 12 hour shift. Less to do while a patient is sleeping but she still worked and stayed attentive to Mom. She assisted her with bedtime tasks and checked on her hourly through the night; if Mom made any noises she made sure she was OK. Also logging things through the night. If Mom needed anything - getting to the bathroom, a drink of water - Esmeralda saw to it. She also tidied up anything around the kitchen or living room. All three of these women were kind and compassionate and receptive to Mom's needs. And they possessed all of the qualities noted above for Ryan. They were instrumental in Mom's healing. My hope, naturally, is that Mom won't need this kind of care anymore. But if so I wouldn't hesitate contacting LWHC. I cannot think of enough positive adjectives to describe them. I am forever grateful for them.
