My son has to go every three months for medication renewal and I pay the same co-pay for in office or virtual for a simple visit to confirm medication renewal. Just received a bill for double my copay on a recent routine virtual visit that listed 2 minutes. Come to find out that they billed twice of what they normally bill to insurance because my son saw the doctor at 5:30pm which is "after hours" verses 5pm, even though the office is open until 8pm. I was never told there would be an additional fee, especially since they are open until 8pm?? Why would you not tell someone that when booked and why would I assume there would be an additional fee if it is not "after hours" when you are open??? read more

Man im so pissed Im literally sitting on the side of the road crying. I literally just wasted gas and 45 mins driving with my fucking infant crying in the backseat to get to a doctor's appointment at 24/7 Pediatric Care Centers in Jax Beaches to get 3 stitches removed from the bottom of Anansi(my 4year old) foot all for them to call me literally 10minutes before the appointment to tell me the pEdIaTrIcIaN doesn't feel COMFORTABLE removing the stitches and they're cancelling the appointment. Mind you it's not infected, it's healed well, and I've had this appointment for over a week...they told me to bring the discharge papers from the emergency department which I have with me...so why tf don't you as a children's doctor want to do your fucking job!!!??? I've been coming here for years. Doctor Benitez was even my Pediatrician as a kid and I've always thought highly of him. Now, I bring my kids and have been happy with Katrina. The reason I'm writing is because the office insists on continuing with the mask policy. We are due for a well visit, but are holding off until the office drops its mask policy. The peer reviewed studies pre-COVID show that any mask other than a fitted, sealed, and smell tested N95 mask will not prevent contraction or transmission of flu sized particles around .1 microns in size. COVID is .125 microns in size, so basically the same size. The same studies show that a person is more likely to contract influenza like illness wearing cloth masks especially, verses nothing at all. Also, surgical masks were not designed for viral protection and gives the wearer a false sense of security. If you can smell cigarette smoke or spray paint while wearing a mask, then the mask isn't working. Smoke can be up to 5 times larger than COVID. I have personally smelled cigarette smoke on someone indoors while wearing a surgical mask, which means it's not working. My dad worked in ICU for over 30 years with infectious diseases and the mask has to be donned with clean hands and you have to pass a smell test. Some patient's rooms in ICU even have negative air flow systems to protect the nurses and doctors. Masking my kids does more harm than good and I simply won't do it anymore. I want to trust medical experts to do the right thing, but I'm having a hard time when I'm reading studies which contradict this mask policy. Please end this policy. We picked this doctor because they are open 24/7, but that's no longer true at this location. Now you have to go to Gate Pkwy during off hours and weekends. I've been disappointed in the fact that we haven't seen the main doctor in years, because they always give us a nurse practiioner. First time here today to take my 3 children for their first doctors visit since moving to Jacksonville. I am really impressed by how professional and fast they were in checking in the 3 children. Both doctor and nurse were very thorough in finding all information thay pertained to each child. Other doctors offices i visited in the past were quick to get my children in and out without hearing our concerns. We really liked this office all of our questions were answered and then some. We switched to Pediatric Care Center when my children were 2 after being patients at Progressive Pediatrics since my kiddos were born. I loved Progressive but we had an insurance change and they were no longer covered. The Good: Pediatric Care Center has appointments 24 hours a day/7 days a week IF you are an existing patient. They are not a pediatric walk in urgent care center so you cannot get in if you are not a patient. The exception to this is if you are visiting from out of town and you are staying with, or friends with someone who IS a patient. Secondly this location can administer IV hydration and some medications saving you a trip to the pediatric ED. As someone in healthcare I can say that I avoid the ED at all costs. When my son developed pneumonia he was able to avoid the ED with a visit here. I have never had to wait very long for an appointment and the office staff is friendly and efficient. Many members of the office staff are bilingual so if you have visitors who are primary Spanish speakers or you are yourself they habla Espanol. The office always appears clean and most surfaces are solid so they could be easily cleaned. There are two rooms, sick and well at both locations. We have not had an issue with any of the practitioners, they also use electronic medical records and print prescriptions. The Bad: Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say I like all their providers, NPs and MDs. They have one older male physician who works at the Gate location and he reminds me of a grandfather, he has treated us for strep several times on the weekends. We appreciate him and I love that he is stepping it up with the EMR along with everyone else. read more

I absolutely love coming here. The providers are caring and understanding, the staff always goes above and beyond and the convenience of the multiple locations and hours really can't be beat!! I want to give a shout out but there are just so many people I would want to call out. I've been to all the locations and in each they have front desk staff that is inviting and friendly. They always make us feel welcome. The medical assistants are all so sweet and calming, they make us feel comfortable and at ease. When it comes to the providers they go above and beyond with their knowledge and experience. Really I just can't rave enough about this business. Even management you always know they are around because they are helping wherever is needed to make sure everything flows so smoothly!!! I went to BOTH the point meadows and jax beach locations. Dr.Benitez was great but unfortunately he is not at the Point meadows location very often. Dr.Benitez diagnosed my son CORRECT the FIRST time and explained to me all the things he would do while examining my son and he also broke everything down to what could have caused it, what side effects of meds I should look for and things to look for if it were to get worse. he was GREAT. On the other hand Dr.Pitocchi is an IDIOT. She diagnosed my son with hand foot and mouth then said it will go away "on it's own" and it got WAY worse a couple days later THEN she diagnosed him with SCABIES WITHOUT PERFORMING A CULTURE TEST FIRST. she prescribed him a cream that made him break out into an allergic reaction and after that we went BACK to the office which mind you was the THIRD time we had been there in a WEEK span. So they took blood from my son and couldn't get but a couple drops and then they wondered why his iron and hemo. was so low. They sent us to the E.R and all along it was a virus infection. That would have just gone away on it's own. This is not the first time this has happened. NUMEROUS times my 6 month old son has been MISDIAGNOSED and GOD FORBID you come into their office not polished and dressed in a pencil skirt and a blouse. EVERY TIME I go into their office i am in casual jeans and shirt and I'm a young mom. I have been treated with DISRESPECT by the doctors and talked DOWN too because of my age and the way I look. Other moms come in their with work attire, or dressed very nicely and much older than me and they get treated with respect. I will NEVER come back here and I would NOT refer of any of you to. Been bringing my kids in this place for almost a decade now... With all the appointments or schedules I have done all these years this girl her name is AMANDA was rude and impolite over the phone. I was trying to make an appointment for my son and my two other kids.The first date she gave me won't work so I asked her to find another date...I thought I lost her. She left me hanging without saying anything like "let me check" or "can u hold" or any similar things you would say while you keep somebody waiting on the other line.she confirmed the 2nd date for me without her asking if that's ok.So I told her it won't work so I just choose the first date she gave me and answer me back with a high tone voice and said see you then AGAIN w/o confirming who are the patients to be seen,the date and time! We've been waiting over a month for a referral and Dr. Pitottochi is out of town. My daughter is now out of medicine she has been on for two years. After several phone calls where they were reuse, interruptive and at one point laughing I decided to go to their Facebook page where their reviews had been removed. When I posted my post under the visitor post it was deleted and I was then blocked. Please let the deter you from this facility. A doctors office without reviews can't be good for your family. Don't let them give you an insurance excuse for my situation. We have tri-care and nemours wasn't accepting new patients- it was their duty to recommend another doctor but they didn't. My daughter is now sufffering without meds she has been on for two years because of the staff in this office. Even after requesting to speak with Dr. Benetiz, the head of the practice I was denied that ability as well. I'm very sad that Dr. Pitottchi is out of town and we will be leaving the practice as we love her personally but unfortunately, I don't think the staff cares about my child's wellbeing. read more

This place is like a bad joke. The front desk girl with long brunette hair is rude, condescending, lack manners, class, and not to mention some serious people's skills. The place was pretty much empty when we visited which indicates a lack of patients and a warning to potential ones. I would say run away from this place which had really rude negative aggressive staff with nasty attitudes. Their 24 hrs phone calls for emergency are awful. The nurse who answered had an attitude while we called their phone centers too. They lack patience to explain symptoms and proper step by step care. Opposite from another Pediatric practice we called after them. The rooms are gloomy and needs renovation. The cancel you when they feel like it, without giving you proper notice and if you show up they will kicked you out! Never will they care enough to say sorry or to apologize for any inconvenience. They did not seem to give a dime if your child is ill and needs medical care. Really sad! Never experienced such horrible customer service from a children's medical place. Save your children do not waste your time, money, with unpredictable bad services and terrible ugly nasty vicious attitudes. Nurses do not wash their hands, Dr.P did not wash her hands, Dr . weiss keep saying my daughter was two months old at her four month check up, he never answers questions because he is not really listening, he completely ignored my request to check out my daughters rash saying at two months they all have skin problems ( again it was her4 month well check) . Took her for a second opinion and she had a yeast and bacterial rash. We love the location of the Southside office, love that it is open 24/7 (though with limited services after normal hours), and love the separate entrances for sick and well visits. The facilities themselves are very nice and clean. But I have several big complaints. My biggest is that the support staff is just rude. They really act as if we are inconveniencing them simply by being there and hardly bring themselves to even look me in the eye. Though I rarely call the office, the couple of times I have they have treated me very brusquely. I had my head bitten off just for asking them to repeat something. There have been several visits where we have had to wait well over an hour, even after I have been assured that they were running on time. As another reviewer said, I have been disappointed to not see a doctor, and we always seem to see someone different. This is a problem if your child has a chronic condition that requires careful monitoring, as mine does. Though I hate to leave such a convenient practice, I fear that we will need to do so if we continue to experience poor service. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We chose this office because they were open 24/7. However, if you need or want your child to see a doctor, they rarely work. They called me to reschedule two appointments for my child's ADD medication check/refills because the doctor was not going to be there and only the doctor could see for this. I ended up taking my child to another pediatrician where the doctors actually care and work. This was last October. Today I called to ask about having my son's sports physical given to me since he has changed schools and his physical is valid for a year. I was told to drive there and drop forms and they would be ready to pickup soon. I drove 30 min to drop the forms only to be called upon returning home and told they could not complete since he is no longer a patient of theirs. All I needed was the sports physical they did already which are part of my son's records, or should be. They can't give me a copy of his sports physical because they did not keep proper record and now, after having me drive all the way there, they tell me they can't redo the forms. I'm glad we left and I will never recommend them to anyone else. These are the people we trust to care for the health of our children. Opening locations all over Jacksonville might win patients due to convenience but it won't take long before they realize you get what you pay for. read more

I use to take all my kids here. We have since left this practice. I like the beach location and use to enjoy the staff. The front staff once had nice employees now seem to be bothered by my questions. The staff is all new and only know one girl nurse left who is great and my kids trusted her. I never get to see a doctor only a nurse practioner and they have changed the med times for my daughters medication that are now not helpful to my family and schedule. They say 24/7 but its not the case. Not to mention the wait times are awful. My time is important too!!! read more

Disappointed in the way we were treated by the office staff. While trying to discuss a concern, two of the members of the office staff kept repeating, "Well, that's our policy." A little compassion and flexibility from a pediatrician's office would have been nice. I knew this was the wrong practice for us when the doctor did not use the anatomically correct names for body parts while talking to my 5 year old. I have been visiting this practice since my son was born, who is now 3. I have never had any major issues until my visit tonight with Dr. Benitez. His lack of professionalism and empathy for my concerns regarding my son were less than marginal. He clearly did not read his chart because he had zero knowledge of an acid reflux medicine that he prescribed to my child a month earlier. He told me, "I would not prescribe a child reflux medicine without doing testing first." I gently reminded him that he already did, and he became very defensive and went back to check the charts. He then was questioning Wolfson's outpatient occupational therapy institute that his nurse practitioner sent me to. Again, he had no knowledge that his office sent the referral to them. By this point, I'm feeling flustered and concerned because he has no knowledge of A) the medicine he prescribed me, and B) no confidence in the facility he referred me to. He proceeds to tell me I have an attitude and that he is going to check the chart again. He comes back and says he only wrote the prescription because the therapist and myself wanted to try it?!?! What kind of "professional" writes prescriptions based on what the patient wants. I put my trust in him, as our doctor, to decide if the medicine was appropriate or not. I told him that I did not appreciate him saying I had an attitude and calling me a liar. He told me we didn't "mesh" and I needed to leave. I was stunned to be treated this way by the doctor that runs the practice I have put my faith in for 3 years. What would have been appropriate was an apology for his lack of knowledge regarding my son's health and medical chart. Instead, he deflected his lack of professionalism and ignorance back on me. What a disappointment ! I will say this, however, the nurse practitioners have always been kind, knowledgeable, and thorough! read more

If I had written this review any time in the last 18 years, I would have given them 5 stars. My children and bonus children have been patients of Dr. Benitez for, yes, 18 years, going way back to the days when he was with Jacksonville Pediatrics. My son loved Dr. B so we followed him to his new endeavor. When my bonus kids came into the picture. There was no question. Dr. B would be their doctor as well. When I found out I was pregnant with our youngest, again, no question who her pediatrician would be. And that's when I realized things had changed in Dr. B's practice, and not for the better. The first year with my newborn was okay. We usually saw one of the Katrinas or Dr. Walters and Raley was our nurse. Every. Single. Visit. I don't know what happened but things are not the same now. New doctors/ARNPs who just don't mesh with the practice (as it used to be) is one problem. Never seeing the same practitioner twice is another. I don't even think most of them take the time to read the file (which is electronic so its right there on their laptop when they come in the examine room). I got the stink eye from one practitioner because I declined a flu shot for my LO and told her I had not had one either. I'm not an anti-vac person, but I do not vaccinate just because there is a vaccine available. I also prefer not to over-medicate. Our last few sick visits seemed to net antibiotics just for the sake of prescribing them. Case in point, My LO's ear was "a little red" the last time we went and that resulted in a 7 day course of ammox. 3 days after the antibiotics were finished, her ear drum ruptured. Most ear infections are viral and do not respond to antibiotics. This was obviously one of those cases. Then there's the feeling of it's all about the money grab now. They are advertising for patients on the radio. When we thought my little one broke her arm, I listened to the on-call doctor's advice and we supported her arm but didn't take her to the ER, we brought her into the office after the holiday. They had us in to the Point Meadows office. I figured they had XRay equipment there . . . they have everything else. Why else would the pediatrician want to see my LO for a possible fracture if not to take XRays? Well, they didnt' take XRays. Instead they just looked at my LO -- literally looked at her, didn't feel on her arm or anything. They gave me a prescription pad note that said she needed to see an orthopedist, a piece of cardboard and gauze for a new splint until we could get to the orthopedic office and then stuck their hand out for $112 for the visit. For what? They could have told me one of the 3 times I spoke with them on the phone over the holiday that they did not have XRay equipment in eithe rof their offices and that I needed to just take her to an orthopedic doctor. They didn't even bother to help me find one with an available appointment for my LO. Shoot. Even my adult doctor's office made an appointment for me to get xrays when we though I broke my hand. But not this office. Thank the Lord for smart phones and tablets because I was sitting outside in their parking lot in the pouring rain trying to find someplace to take my LO to get Xrays. So, after 18 years of satisfaction, things have definitely taken a turn for the worse. I am interviewing for a new pediatrician for my LO. It's a shame when a family has been with a practice for so long to have things go so completely south. I'm sad that it has come to this, but Momma's instincts say it is time to find another pediatrician who cares about the babies and not the just money. read more

Horrible customer service. The girls at the front desk were snotty and rude and the pediatrician acted under the influence of something. I go to the other jax location and they are great. LOVE them! This was my first time at the jax beach location and it seems to be run by a bunch of young girls who don't know how to smile and you feel judged walking through the door because they're apparently better than everyone and they think their shit doesn't stink because they're fresh out of school working front desk at a children's practice. The office seemed clean but the room we were taken to looked kindof dirty and there were kids hand prints on the bed my child was sitting on and a dirty tissue on the ground. Two thumbs down. Will not return to this location and will leave this review on every review site so maybe my info can help someone out. Do not take your kids here especially for a sick visit. We were the only people in the office at the time and it took 30 mins to be called into the room and they rushed us in and out without giving any info or finding out what was wrong with my baby.
