Waking up to realize it's been a couple of days since you've worked out. The hotels only a little ways. Hit the gym early for a good sesh and boom. You are greeted with a welcoming voice and smile. When arriving at the gym at o dark 30 of the morning. It's always good to have staff that are ready and pleasant. I know I walked out feeling better after talking to gentleman at the front door. If I stay in Oxnard again this'll be a spot I plan to get a sesh in. read more

Been using the gym for about 5 months now both before and after remodel.. remodel was nice and They brought in a few new machines, got rid of a few really poorly kept machines and changed the layout. It definitely need an upgrade. This gym feels over 50 years old but I think is only about half of that. A couple things that standout on almost every visit: I rarely see staff in the workout area for cleanup, resupply on cleaning products, or just general upkeep. Maybe that's improved a small amount lately and becomes a bigger priority but we shall see. When walking in there is almost always someone at the desk but rarely do you get greeted when arriving or on your way out. I guess that's a small thing that could make someone feel welcome. Sometimes it's the little things can go a long way. This gyms location is excellent but with little competition in the area, it seems the desire to have anything other than location isn't a priority. I think this gym could easily be a premium experience but it falls way short of that and the 2.5 star overall rating on yelp is an indicator of that. read more

However, not sure the gym needed all that new turf when the cardio machines are falling apart and air conditioning could have been upgraded. We just realized that 24 hr fitness has been charging us without our knowledge for the past 6 months. Total of $200.98. Back in February someone told my 18 yr old daughter that everything would be cancelled after 2 days. I'm not sure what kind promotion they were running or how they convinced her to sign anything. She was supposed to just pay for the day. Today July 15th my daughter went to the club to see if they can issue a refund instead the manager Miles told her it was her fault for not reading the fine print and there was no proof that she was told it was going to be cancelled. He asked if they didn't teach her in High School to read contracts. Anyways I'll be calling my bank and 24 hr corporate to let them know the shady business being conducted at this specific club to make their sales quota. read more

I have been going to this location for a couple years but waited for the remodel to be completed before I did my review. I also read some other reviews and for the most part they were pretty accurate. The remodel and refresh was just completed and I am happy to say they did a real nice job. The club now meets up to my expectations. I attribute it mostly to the new ownership. If they can keep up with the cleaning and replace some of the older cardio equipment I would say the Collection Location could be the star of Ventura county! read more

I can't believe this. I'm out of town visiting and exploring options to open a new gym membership. I wanted to get a quick workout in maybe an hour and saw an ad for a 3-day pass. I thought it would be a great way to check out the place and see my options. Apparently, you have to be a local resident to use the 3-day pass. Even though I'm planning to move here soon, that rule gave me a bad vibe. Alex at the front desk was amazing. His hands were tied, though, since he has to follow corporate rules, and I completely understand that. I use this club regularly because I live in Oxnard. Maintenance is very poor. When machines break it takes a long time to fix them and looks like management is not interested of maintaining them. There are 2 machines I use regularly that's been broken for more than a month. Also the steam sauna is broken almost a month and not fixed yet. Recently remodeled (updated gym, not really a remodel). It looked great. That was a month ago (early May '26). Now, early June, it's back to being a place that sucks. Filthy. It was filthy before the remodel - and was great for a few weeks. If you don't mind dust balls the size of kittens around the weight machines, crud, trash, and hair in the showers (those that work), and I've NEVER seen somebody actually wipe down equipment (besides others who are working out). In the area, needed to work off some stress, so I decided to head on over to this 24HR fitness new location. As the Camarillo location is permanently closed. Free Weights and weight machine area was pretty crowded at 7-8PM :( ...too crowded for me to get a workout in. Decided to get at least 45 min of cardio done (see my pic) as the area wasn't so crowded. Tons of free parking at The Collections. For a new gym, housekeeping AND Gym Members could do a little better picking up after themselves (throw away their empty drink containers and used paper towels in the trash). read more

Love when they actually have classes. This is the only gym I've been to where they don't get subs for classes . They cancel a class and there's no signage or staff member that goes up to tell everyone. They don't even update the app. Utter nonsense. Staff isn't professional, they ignore you whole their have inappropriate conversations which is a bit frustrating:/ I wish this gym was what it it once was . Decided to go back to this gym after two years. Honestly so disappointed on how it's so dirty and dusty. The cardio machines have literal dust bunnies they look dirty. The tv screens you see dust falling off of it. The Sauna is always dirty and they expect you to not wear shoes half of the time it's not even hot enough in there. I just paid the membership for a whole year I'm trying to make the best of it until my year is over and I look For a different gym. They really need to hire a better cleaning staff. read more

This gym is set up for failure. I had a personal trainer for a couple months. When I was done with my training. I started going upstairs to the actual gym. To my surprise they pretty much had no equipment for you to use. Or it was broken. This gym manager gives no fks about the the people who come here. Stationary bike pedal broken for a whole month maybe longer. I complained everyday I went to try to work out out. Bosue there's only about 5 and they are missing or flat. So if your lucky you only have 2-3 working properly. Kettle weights never a set together. One is missing, weather it's holding a door open or nowhere to be found. Swimming pool tools. This one is a joke. Some are made with white pvc handles to hold foam weights. WTF! Seriously! One of the chest press was broken or loose. It's a joke. I mean the list goes on and one. While the PT gym is nicely set up. And even they had the pedal broken a few times I was there. Terrible gym. Do better 24 hours Oxnard. Ventura 24 hours is so much better with equipment, cleanliness and staff. read more

I came for the 50 minute free coaching session and recieved a 10 minutes sales pitch. Very disappointing how they waste your time and money. They never even toured me around the gym before the sales pitch... they went straight to sales pitch. How do you get people to join your gym when you only talk about the money? 24 hour has potential! I like coming here because it's super convenient but if it weren't for that this wouldn't be my selection. Many machines are broken and have not been changed. There are about 10 stair masters and only 2 work!! The sauna and dry room don't seem very sanitary. This past month the sauna was not working and there was no sign and when I walked in it smelled pretty bad. This gym could really benefit from some upgrades and updating equipment. This particular location is filthy. Dust bunnies in the cardio area and around the TVs. Bathroom and locker room, not a single clean stall without paper or tissue on the ground. Sinks have paper towels tied around them, seemingly some sort of makeshift repair technique?? Upstairs near the weights the mirrors are dirty, paper towels strewn everywhere, the space reeks of old sweat, and given the appearance elsewhere I would guess the space is not mopped or disinfected NEARLY as frequently as it should. I love a sauna and pool but knowing how to rest of the gym is maintained and cleaned, I'm not willing to risk swimming and getting MRSA. Please up your game, 24 hour Oxnard!!! read more

Where do I begin? Actually the equipment seems rather old. The inside of the facilities seems a bit dusty. I've seen dust on the windows and also on different parts of the building which is very disgusting. The sauna has a peculiar smell, which is very disgusting. The men's locker room is very disgusting because there are empty bottles of shampoo or other trash that's on the floor. It appears that the staff are on their devices at night time when they should actually be cleaning and not only that be assisting others some of them seem that they look like they're just there for their check and I'm going to be honest because this isn't actually right. I wanna feel comfortable in the gym but yet I do not feel comfortable. This is very disgraceful and sad. I understand they're improving some stuff, but still the gym needs to be updated. read more

I would stay away from 24 hour fitness Oxnard and the entire chain at all costs. They have no interest in treating you fairly. They take your money, and commit fraud. In my case, I joined for the summer, and signed up for eight Trainer sessions. Several months later, I noticed on my credit card that they were still billing me $349 a month for every month of the year for sessions I was not receiving, while I was not even a member.. I brought it to the Trainers attention, she brought it to her manager's attention, and Yessi the manager was unable to get my money back. She says that corporate will not honor the mistake that the Trainer at their gym made. They gave me one month refund, and hoped I would go away. It is essentially stealing. They took my money for no services, they know that the mistake was theirs, and that no services were delivered. I have everything in writing. And they will not return my money to me. When I am done with this review, I will be reporting 24 hour fitness to the Better Business Bureau. I would at all cost stay away from this chain, and definitely do not give them your credit card. I have given them every opportunity to rectify the situation. But after several months of waiting, calling, texting, giving them space and time to rectify their error, I am done. There are no humans in this chain of responsibility with any integrity. This system has fallen to the lack of leadership and lack of vision that happens when a business is overextended and on its way out. I expect to see this chain collapse very shortly. read more

I started going to this gym in 2015 after it first opened in December 2014. Since then the cleaniness has gone a bit downhill. The only thing they need to fix is the house keeping. Also I noticed that the disinfect and paper towels are empty a lot of the times. Please refill your items so we can disinfect the equipment and machines. They have fixed the shower heads by the way. They added all new heads and they no longer have that nasty green stuff someone else posted a while ago. Those shower heads were so badly maintained back then but everything has been replaced and no more muck! It was about time because I think it was left like that for longer than a year. I'm not sure if they kept in such bad condition in an effort to deter people from using the shower. But as long as it's fixed and it doesn't happen again for that long then the problem is solved. Back then, they offered more classes like POP Pilates. The classes used to be the s**t back then haha. The schedule has definitely decreased but its understandable since a lot of the instructors changed careers during covid. I will say that I absolutely love the staff and social media presence this 24 hour fitness has though. PSA for customers: wipe down and disfinect the equipment when you are done. There should be signs so people are aware of some of the gym etiquette. When I go to the Ventura 24 Hour Fitness, I see mostly everyone wiping down the machines/equipment when they are done. I had a really disappointing experience with the fat manager during my visit. From the moment i interacted with him, he came across as rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming. Instead of helping me feel comfortable, his tone and attitude made it seem like we were a burden it was like he was hangry and hadn't eatin the whole day. He barely listened to our questions, responded with short, irritated answers, and didn't make any effort to resolve concerns. Overall, his lack of professionalism set the tone for an unpleasant visit, and it's hard to recommend a place where management treats customers this poorly. I do not recommend going to this gym because of how he treats his customers. Also ,Terrible experience. The service was as bad as the attitude, and frankly, I'm not sure why he's so angry at the world. Maybe if he spent less time being rude to customers and more time worrying about his own hairline, he'd be a lot happier. Avoid this place. read more

This is based out of the loyalty that this location has shown me over the years as well as a few of the staff members who make it worth coming in. When the Covid pandemic hit, the Collection was one of the few gyms who tried to keep going by putting their equipment outside in a tent to allow those who wished to continue a workout. From what I understand, this is one of the few locations in CA to keep their doors open 24hrs; that alone puts them ahead of most other gyms. Now is it crowded between 4pm and 8pm? Tell me a gym with these amenities that isn't? My workouts start at 4am before work. You might think that it would be empty at that time but you would be very mistaken. There is a regular early morning "wrecking crew" that are seen working their asses off; we acknowledge each other with a friendly nod every morning. There's not much chit-chat; just gym rats going from one exercise and set to another. Even high school kids who come in early recognize that there is no foolery going on and that you better be serious about working out or get called out on it. Kudos also to Reggie and Alex. They are the early morning attendants who make sure the equipment is squared away and locker rooms as safe as possible. I've seen them do their rounds continously. I can't say what happens after they leave but Reggie and Alex are very professional in what they do. So if you can only workout during the peak hours, this place is crowded and can be very frustrating to get a good sweat session. Just know that this place is open 24 hours and that the morning crew will welcome you if your serious about your workout. read more

I recently went on a 3 day pass to this gym to go with a friend. I've also had membership to this gym in the past. First of all, there is plenty of parking as it's in the collection. And there are tons of cardio equipment on the first floor plus strength training and weight equipment on the second floor. They have several Roc-IT hoist motion type machines, which means that when you move your arms or legs on the machine, it's like being on a mini rollercoaster ride powered by you. It actually made strength training WAY more fun. if you close your eyes while working out, you can imagine you're on one of those huge rollercoasters called Goliath or the Gorilla or whatever, except it's much cheaper and with no wait (or should I say, weight ;-)) Okay, what is super stressful about this place is how insanely dirty it is! The floor appeared and felt sticky, and there were big wads of paper towels and also bits of paper towels everywhere I looked! It was mainly on the 2nd floor with the weights and strength training machines. I didn't go to the women's locker room this time, but I do remember the gym not being that clean in the past, either. There are paper towels and spray bottle sanitizers you can use to wipe down the machines, but there aren't very many stations for that. And I guess no one is using a trash can since used paper towels just seem to end up on the floor. One place that you really want to be super hygienic as possible is the gym, and unfortunately, this place doesn't cut it. Also, as soon as I signed up for the the 3-day pass via email, I already felt bombarded with voice messages and text messages from salesmen at the gym and telling me what offers they have. We were able to bypass the salesmen in person by luck, thank goodness, but I still remember how pushy the salesman was when I was trying to decide to sign up. I guess it depends on what you want to do. I think this place has a pool, so maybe you don't mind paying a lot for a pool or you like taking a lot of fitness classes, so already have a price in mind when you come here and don't be bullied into paying for something you feel uncomfortable with. This made me appreciate my $10 Planet Fitness membership SO much more, though, although I wouldn't be sad if Planet Fitness got some of those Roc-It machines. read more

Came to 24 because they have a bball court, pool, and it's close for he house ... the few staff that I've interacted with are nice and helpful so no issues towards them but the major con for this gym is the CLEANLINESS ; or LACK thereof . I've been here for a little over a month and snap pics hoping that it'll get better but NOPE. With it being a 24 hour gym, one would expect 24 hour cleanliness...not the case. The shower heads have scum on them, bathroom stalls are ATROCIOUS, there's hair EVERYWHERE...the equipment is either out of order or missing pieces like I've come at various parts of the day so I can't really say when it's too busy but overall I'm able to come in and get out. I'm going to give it another month ... If they picked up on the janitorial area , I'll come back and update my review. ETA: I had to cancel my membership. I couldn't do it. Of note, when I originally asked how to cancel, I was told in person. When I went to cancel, I was then told online. I will say that the process was seamless and they cancelled quickly, no questions asked - so that's a plus. If I see updates saying they've cleaned up their bathrooms ... I have been going to this gym for over two years now and strictly going for the Zumba classes with Jose and Liz. I do recall there being issues with the stereo last year, but recently the stereo goes out not only once but twice during class sessions . This is an ongoing occurrence for the past two weeks with management saying "it's fixed" . Yet it just completely shuts off in the middle of a song. Not only does that damper the mood and the momentum. I feel it discourages everyone in the class. We all make time to come to the gym, to be honest they only offer Monday and Wednesday for Liz's class, which I enjoy very much. So it does put a damper on our workout when the equipment doesn't even work properly . this piece of equipment Is very important to the class because it plays the music in which we need to do Zumba. It's over 30 of us in the class, I don't understand why 24 hour fitness keeps feeding us excuses about other touching the box and causing it to malfunction. Buy a new one and put bars on that thing . Like seriously? You have all these memberships yet no funds to replace the equipment not only for the members but for the instructors aswell . Pretty much every single machine has some sort of mechanical problem that forces you to adapt the way you workout. For example the leg extension machine, a critical piece of equipment for quadricep growth, is bent so far outward on one side that you develop strength imbalances between your right and left legs. You really have to do individual leg extensions to use this machine properly. This applies to pretty much everything else. The cables (very very important to chest bros) are 99.99% of the time either not functioning or one side feels so sticky to the point it's like having an extra 10-15 pound weight on it. I've been asking for new equipment for the longest time and the staff keep saying it's on the way. When? "not sure" it's been half a year, I'm starting to believe this is a sales tactic to keep members enrolled. Let me put maintenance into perspective; the water fountain short circuited months ago, both of the faucets that refill water bottles are broken and have not been fixed. I've voiced these complaints multiple times, the lack of initiative is very apparent here. I'm switching over to Legends or Golds, the prices at 24 are nowhere near competitive enough for me to stay.
