Please motivate me enough to kick me out of bed or off the sofa! Otherwise, I find it hard to heave-ho myself on to a treadmill. Torture. Can't. Won't. I need someone to tell me what to do (because I'm a lazy lug otherwise. Is three reps enough?) and make sure I do it properly. Better still if they can tell a joke or two while I'm sweating. But I'm also cheap. I have to strike a reasonable balance between needing motivation and needing to conserve cash-ola. That's why I like this place. Chris has done a great job of training me and my partner without killing our wallet. He's able to train us at the same time, adjusting exercises for my high cardio fitness and my partner's arthritic ankle, my knee injury and his upper body strength. We get a fast, hard workout that makes me feel strong, and improves my fitness. The location is great for us. Parking is easy. And Chris is a bright, fun, entertaining trainer who knows his stuff.

You can register for any of their…read moreofferings at https://www.agapetennisacademy.com/ In addition to private lessons and league play scheduled throughout the week, AGAPE offers a three house Drill and Play session on Fridays from 9 am to Noon, for only $20. Such a deal! It's three hours of pickleball for the price of two. The three hour session starts with the Coach Meredith demonstrating a particular skill or strategy. Then the Coach circulates and monitors the students practicing the skill, giving direction where necessary. The second half of the session is leveled play. Usually there are 16-24 players. Coach Meredith sets up the games so you are usually playing against players at your level. The Coach is stationed on the teaching court. The games are timed. After ten minutes, the foursome you are playing with rotates to the next court. (You continue playing with the same players, but you mix up the teams). Eventually all the players play on the teaching court and have the benefit of Coach Meredith's feedback. Three hours of pickleball is too much for some people. Accordingly, you can leave any time you want. It's not rare for people leave at the two hour mark. Not me though. LOL. Ima be there for the whole thing. I've done the three hour Drill and Play four or five times now. It's made a huge difference in my play. I get more hits on Fridays than I do all the rest of the week combined. All those extra hits have allowed me to finally make a little progress. In addition to the Drill and Play, I've taken a few private lessons with Coach Meredith. She's really a great coach! If this is how they treat members, I can only imagine how many others they've tried to trap with outdated contracts and shady billing practices.
