I called keys plumbing to fix a leak in our sprinkler line. The job lasted 2 hours - and part of that time included running to the store for parts. I was grossly overcharged. I was shocked when he handed me the invoice- he never gave me any quote or estimate, just did the work and gave me an invoice. When I called around after he left and found out he overcharged me 3x more than anyone else would have I questioned the bill and was told "rising costs" not to mention an hour after he left I have issues with the work. Bobby answered the call after 5pm and arrived not too long after to repair our emergency leak. I had already tried 4 other large plumbing companies that were either already closed or didn't call back (this was the evening before July 4th so I was worried about how long it would take to schedule). If I could give a ZERO I would. I paid Bobby Key of 24 Hour Key Plumbing $280 to replace a faucet in my back yard because the handle dripped. That was less then a month ago. My husband and I both have been trying to get him to return our calls because it still drips. When he did finally answer he promised to come out. Big surprise he was a no show. I called and spoke with Bobby Key (the owner) and within a couple of hours he arrived with his assistance to help us with our plumbing emergency. My first impressions of Bobby were that he was very knowledgeable and friendly. They came prepared with a full equipped work truck and shoe covers to respect the inside of customer's homes. Within 30 minutes of work, Bobby had solved our issue and went above and beyond to correct anything else that might have been an issue. Bobby incorrectly diagnosed a shower leak without even looking behind the wall, and charged me $680 (the quoted price was $350) for just caulking the grout which he said was the cause. When the problem returned, he said he would come back out but then became unreachable for the next week, despite 3-4 calls/day. He has taken the money and run. Seems to be a pattern now (see Amber C. and Mike D.'s reviews below). I paid a premium because of his good reviews, but now I'm seeing that he's done the same to other customers. Very disorganized, he often seems disoriented, and ultimately dishonest. Would not recommend. read more

Called on Thursday night and scheduled for him to come between 11-1 on Friday. As it got close to 1:00, no show. Called and he said he made a mistake with scheduling and came in about 15 minutes. He spent 25 minutes to fix what I thought the leak was. But, before he left, he never verified that this was, in fact, the only leak. There was a major leak just below where he fixed. I couldn't get a hold of him on Sunday. This resulted in me having to call someone else to fix another leak. $350 wasted. read more

Not only did he no show me, but he failed to even return 2 of my phone calls before I decided to call someone else. Called 24 Hour Key Plumbing morning of 2/1 to make an appointment for afternoon of 2/2 to look at a hot water heater and set a new toilet. Confirmed they would be here between 11 and 1 p.m. on 2/2 and call before arriving. No call and no showed for the appointment. Would not recommend their services to anyone, unless you enjoy being stood up for appointments. read more

Ok here's why I'm writing this review. Bobby key who is the owner did a wonderful job. I called other companies and they wanted to charge me up to 200 dollars just to come on the seen. Another Company was going to make me wait til tomorrow with no hot water. So the appointed time was 11 to 2 he showed up fix the heater and did some extra work on a water hose faucet. Well my water tank is back up now The work was affordable and he worked urgently. I would definitely call him again. read more

Called him on a Sunday as I have a rental property that then tenants called informing me of a large leak in the yard (no water could make it to the house). Called several plumbers and out of those only 3 said they would come look at it (most plumbers don't work Sundays). Out of those 3...only one actually did go by--- Mr. Bobby Key. He looked at it and said there was no way for him to repair it that evening as he already had a few other repairs lined up. But promised to take care of it the next morning. My pipe burst in our rental house and the entire first floor got flooded. I needed a plumber right away. I first called Legacy Plumber, which I used several times in the past, but was always so put off with their "up-front" pricing. They wanted a $50 charge to come out, then a charge to find the leak at some $50 per quarter hour, then they'll give me an estimate for the repairs. I was looking at $200 already before they even touch anything. Thankfully I found Key Plumbing. He responded quickly and came out promptly when he said he would, which was that day. He located the leak right away & made the repair. His pricing was reasonable and no-nonsense. He was very experience and knowledgeable, which I appreciate and will definitely use again in the future. If you care about his bedside manner- I thought he was super friendly (in a professional way). Overall a great plumber! read more

Make sure you get a written estimate before you hire this guy. He demanded $260.00 for less than 20 minutes worth of work replacing a thermostat (with all parts under warranty). I had other quotes for less than $150 (on a Saturday) and unfortunately was dumb enough to assume his price would be the same (he sounds friendly on the phone). My fault of course for not getting a written estimate prior to starting the work, make sure you don't make the same mistake. read more

I beg you not to call this plumber. He came out on a Saturday to fix a water leak. He did not quote a price upfront (I should have asked for a quote). He was at my house for 2 hours - his charge was $1350 - I asked for an invoice showing a breakdown of labor cost by hour. He told me he doesn't do that - he charges a flat fee depending on the job. I was exceptionally happy with the client administration showed by these folks. I had a hole in my laundry sink spigot. I had ignored it for quite a while, until a week ago when I saw that the washing machine feed had begun to spill too. I did my best to fix the 35 year old apparatuses over the previous months, tragically this time there was a release that was shooting in the air and on the floor. I called the expert at 24 Hour Key Plumbing. He was extremely useful. He requested me that I send a photo which I did. His correspondence was great and he reacted immediately. He informed me what he effectively suspected, those would need to be supplanted. I told him that the budget was low and he offered to work with me. In the event that I purchased the apparatuses he would have his folks install them. He me that he couldn't have anybody there for 3 days. But I informed him that I needed to stop the water and that holding up 3 days wasn't and choice. In 30 minutes he got back to me and had somebody turned out that evening. The individual who arrived was extremely proficient and had the repair complete in 90 minutes! What's more, did it for an extremely sensible rate! Much obliged to You 24 Hour Key Plumbing! This is by far the worst experience we have ever had with anyone. 24/7 is just that, he told us he would be at our house between 4pm and 6pm and at 630pm I tried calling and no answer. He called back about 20 minutes later saying he is running behind but is on his way and may take about 30 to 45 minutes. We called several more times and no answer. He showed up with another guy at about 845pm. The worst form of communication I have ever dealt with from anyone. He tried to fix our water heaters in which he had told me earliar in the day that he would have parts for and he didn't so after all the back and forth we were still without warm water. He then says he has an appointment in the morning but will be at our house between 11 am and 12pm. Once again we called him after 12 pm asking where he was and he states he was about 20 minutes out and on his way. It took him about an hour and then he gets here and then has to go and get the parts which he claims he had to run to two different places to get after he assessed everything the night before. He then did not show up to our house until around 630pm. It does not take anyone to drive 4 hours in the metroplex. He finished the job and added about another 100 dollars from what he told us would be the cost the night before because of driving time. This was the most unprofessional person and they also dumped their beer in the grass and street. I could smell it the minute I got out of my car. I am disgusted with this company and what they represent and the crap they put us through in our time of need. I am 33 weeks pregnant and have enough stress then to have dealt with an inconsiderate person like him. I suggest everyone does themselves a favor and stay far away from this company.
