I was in the process of selling my home when a hydro static test failed on my plumbing. With the closing date nearing and time running out, AM plumbing was able to squeeze us in to their scheduling and get us fixed up. They were able to successfully remove the damaged drain line and install new pvc in a couple if hours. They were able to do the repair and test the lines again all within a day. Theyre pricing was the more reasonable of all of the plumbing companies that had come out. Can i mention the customer service over the phone? With things getting hectic, the lady on the phones was able to give me full 5 star service and make the entire selling process less painful. She was able to provide me with everything i was being asked for from the buyer, and almost instantaneously so we were able to prevent the close date from extending. read more

AM plumbing was highly recommended to us, they had their own surveyor come out to find where the leak was. Not only was the surveyor wrong on locating the leak, the job was way less complicated than expected. It took two guys to finish the job in 2 hours, and the only material cost was a 6 foot 3/4 inch pipe. The original estimate was 3k. They got the plumbing job done and in a timely manner, however, at least one of the two gentlemen that came stank of cigarette smoke and the smell lingered in the house after he left, it was that strong. They also did not introduce themselves when we answered the door, all they said was "We were told you have a blockage." We were never told their names and while it was obvious they worked for AM Plumbing they did not tell us that. They also were very abrupt and a little rude. So as far as getting the job done and cost of job they are great, but they are not polite or personable at all. read more

Then we had them replace the shut off valves under the kitchen sink and redo the drain for the new sink. I had them come for a shower and toilet that was running. They sent Desmond. He was unable to fix the issue and actually made it way worse for both the toilet and shower. The company still made me pay and said sometimes it just happens. Well I ended up fixing both issues myself in less than 30 min not counting drive time to get the parts. In my journey to find the parts I started at the same supply store they use. I had the broken shower stems in my hand and they had no idea what it was. Which means Desmond knowingly tried to make the wrong size stem work which could of caused a serious problem. I ended up going to Day's hardware and they helped me find the right part and I fixed the shower leak no problem. They also failed to fix the toilet. I ended up looking at the diagram and figured out how to fix the problem which took me 30 seconds to fix. Desmond is either lazy, stupid or both because I figured out how to fix both issues drove to get the parts and fixed both problems in less than 2 hours and I knew nothing about plumbing earlier today. If you can't fix something then fine... it's just unprofessional to charge to make things worse read more

Recently we used AM Plumbing to scope our mother's home's drain lines as they were intermittently clogging. Additionally we had them pull and reset a toilet, which became a rather nasty and somewhat challenging fix. Both projects were done efficiently and professionally. We called to get a quote on moving some plumbing in a 1/2 bath and the scheduler said she wouldn't schedule us if we were calling other plumbers. I was shocked!! The whole point of getting a quote is to compare to other companies and to get a great value+service. I have used them several times to work on both my house and rental property. The last time at my rental property I was charged for multiple trips to get supplies. They charged 3 hours labor to fix an outside hose bib. In addition, the tenants pointed out a problem with a shower leaking and how they tried to fix it and were told by the plumber "that's what I would have done". He didn't attempt to fix the dripping shower. When I called to dispute the bill, the owner, Mary, didn't return my message for a week until I called her back. She also raised her voice at me and was very argumentative when I mentioned feeling taken advantage of as a landlord. I was asking for some of the hourly charge to be taken off (so I can pay the new service call for the shower) or someone to go back and fix the problem with the shower. The owner admitted to multiple mistakes by the young plumber that came out. I got a call back from them a few days later where they told me to forget the bill but then told me to find another plumber. Extremely unprofessional. read more

My water heater went out on a Wednesday, and I called several firms to see who was available. All of them had a free estimate, but none could come out Wednesday. When I called AM Plumbing, they told me they could get someone out to FIX the problem on Thursday. Late Thursday afternoon, the AM repairperson spent two minutes looking at the water heater and told me it needed to be replaced. He then gave me an estimate and told me they couldn't come out until MONDAY. So I'd be without hot water for the weekend, after being told it would be fixed on Thursday. This repairperson also told me someone would call on Friday to confirm my Monday appointment. All day Friday, I waited for that call, which never came. Not willing to simply HOPE that I'd be on the schedule for Monday, I called one of the other plumbing firms on Saturday, and they not only came out and replaced the water heater within 24 hours but charged me $400 less than AM's estimate. But the true problem I have with this situation is that AM sent me a bill for $115 for the two-minute service call, even though they failed to call me on Friday as promised and never, in fact, made it clear that I'd be PAYING a service call. Granted, I made that "free call" assumption based on the fact that none of the other firms were charging service calls. But I feel like the company was not only overpriced, but slow to provide service and didn't follow through on what they said they were going to do. Had they called me on Friday as they were supposed to, I might have waited for their slow, overpriced service. And after what little they've done for me, I certainly didn't expect a $115 bill. Bottom line: From my perspective, this is a company out to make as much money as possible with little concern for its customers. read more

I had AM plumbing come out to repair several very slow moving drains, including a stopped-up commode. After reading some of the reviews here, it just didn't seem sensible for one guy glorifying his plumbing aftermath abilities with a list of his stopwatch timed successes. Another customer is so out of tune with their hierarchy of what's important that they have to complain about lingering odor from a smoker? Air ionizers cost similar to a toaster and can make a clean botanical scent in your home. My first ionizer lasted 14 years before needing replacing. I gave AM a try and got a young plumber that listened intently, analyzed my septic configuration and was amicable to my interaction while he was under pressure toting in larger equipment for the house's bigger diameter pipes and while aiming to get all three locations working for me again, he was working full-tilt and never slowed down. When it came time for the invoice, It was a very modest price and I feel like I couldn't have called a better place. read more

The first time I called them, the girl who answered the phone was not very friendly or helpful, but I guess she did her job. She paged the plumber and had him call me. He was nice enough and he answered all my questions--so no complaints there. When I called back to make an official appointment, however, the girl who answered the phone sounded like she'd rather chew glass than talk to a customer, and the girl she transferred me to wasn't much better. She didn't seem the least bit interested in helping me or keeping my business, so I told her I would take my business elsewhere. We were so disappointed with this company. We asked them to wait before replacing one temporary fix with another. Against our explicit requests, they did it anyway and then proceeded to tell us that we weren't a licensed plumber so we didn't know what we were talking about. We did not want a joint under the slab - no one needs to be a licensed plumber to know that's a potential problem in the future. We were willing to work with them to correct this and do some additional work but the patronizing attitude coupled the poor work prevented this. read more

His team, Lane and Brian were able to come the same week to perform the work. Although they ran into a snag, causing unexpected work, they did not try to increase the cost. We've had the opportunity to use these guys a few times since we bought our first home (and one time during emergency hours when I botched a job trying to do it myself!). The rates are reasonable, and they've done a good job. On the emergency day, the guy came out very quickly (which was important! Our bathroom was seriously flooding!) and took care of everything. Each time they've come out and finished a job, they have offered to fix any other minor issues to use up the hour we're paying for, which is very much appreciated!
