What $95 bought me: -Error messages saying my credit card was declined when in fact it had posted to my account. -Waiting on hold for several minutes when I called to report the transaction posting to my credit card and to request access to my account. -Being told that I will have to come back to the website in 3 business days to access and update the account. Personally, I think $95 should buy the convenience of getting it done and not having to make a note that the task is outstanding. Also, an error message that's actually accurate. This experience has NOT left me confident that the organization has the ability to reunite me with my pet should he go missing. EDIT: I called back because this was just unacceptable service for the price tag. Second rep promised he would get it sorted out and blamed a computer glitch. Then he claimed I couldn't get online access to my account because I didn't pay for it. Two phone calls to my bank contradict this but the bank reversed the charge. I have been a customer for more years than I can even remember. Over a decade. First, one of my cats, who is now 14 years old, was dropped from the plan without notice after I paid these premiums without making a singe claim for over a decade. If I'm not mistaken, I first enrolled her in the policy when she was just a kitten. Now, she has no insurance at a time when she is more likely to need it. After pleading with a representative to reinstate her coverage, I was denied. Horrendous. Next, my remaining 3 cats on the policy (who were not dropped, I assume, because they are all much younger), who I was paying $66 a month to insure had a sudden premium increase - to $112 a month. Overnight. I called for an explanation and was told that they had been undercharging for their premiums for years, and they now have a new underwriter who brought the premiums up to "market value." This is crazy. For $112 a month I can start a savings account for my cats for future rather than insuring them. Further, I had repeatedly called the company before the price hike to ask them to send me all important information regarding policy changes to my email, as there was a problem receiving mail at my house. I never received an email regarding the price hike - not surprised. With that, I canceled my policies today. This company makes a responsible pet owner feel like a sucker for trying to do the right thing. For over a decade I've literally thrown my money in the garbage because they dropped one of my aging pets, then hiked the premiums on the younger ones to the point were it's not even affordable anymore. FRAUD. They just took $240 out of my account without authorization. My dog passed away on October 3 and that's the day I talked to one of their reps and closed my policy. I only had the policy for one month. I submitted a claim for the vet bills from that months and they denied it for the reason that I had missed 2 payments. It took me about an hour on the phone to explain that I could not have missed 2 payments when I only had the policy for one month for which I paid when I opened it. I've been trying to make a very simple claim for my dog Zena for which I wasn't even expecting anything more than to be applied to my deductable. I sent all of my dogs records from adoption to now. the dog is 100% healthy so there are no long term records other than standard annual tests which I sent as did my veterinarian. nobody ever answers and when I follow up I'm told my claim is denied due to they need more information. again, I've sent everything 3 times so far. I've asked on several occasions to speak with a manager but never get one; only the promise of a call back which never comes. I have been with this company since at least 2008. At least 5 pets with them. They just got bought out. I signed my new pet up. They deducted two payments and only reversed one. We had pet insurance for our cat for four years and never used it once until this year. We submitted a very small invoice for de-worming. 24PetWatch made us go through hoops and in the end, we got a third of our money back from the small invoice. They are difficult to work with and you may as well just hand them over your money with no expectation for return. I would NEVER recommend. I am so grateful for this insurance company. I have a 1 yr old cat who has had periods where he just stopped walking. The pet insurance has reimbursed us 80% for all vet visits regarding this problem, which our vet originally thought was arthritis. During this last episode, our cat was recommended to an orthopedic and neurologist where he had a 4 day inpatient stay to be tested for a musceoskelatal condition that he will have for the rest of his life. This vet bill and upcoming medications would have ultimately led to having to euthanize our cat. After hospitalization and starting treatment, our cat has made a full recovery. I am so grateful for this insurance coverage bc it has allowed for us to see our cat recover! Customer service has been great, claim review process is easy and fast! This company will do anything to deny your claim. They denied two of my claims. They asked for all medical records from birth. Even though I adopted my dog from the shelter, I actually had this information (34 pages worth of medical records!). After I sent them all those records, they still denied my claim. Essentially, I gave them $1000 in money for me to call them once a month and have them say no over and over. I cancelled and got my pro-rated amount back. If your pet has a 24PetWatch microchip, be warned that they will not let you update contact information (even if you move out of state or if there was a mistake on the initial registration) without paying their membership fee. They have a 1 year grace period, but if you move or your phone number changes after that time, you're out of luck. I recommend Found Animals Registry (www.foundanimals.org) or Free Pet Microchip Registry (www.freepetchipregistry.com). Both of these services link to the AAHA Microchip Lookup, which is what vets and shelters use to identify found pets, and both registries allow you to update contact info without paying a fee. 24PetWatch is clearly not interested in reuniting lost pets with their owners -- unless you are willing to pay. read more

Upon calling them to change his contact details to my own, I was berated with one of the most aggressive and insulting sales pitches I have ever had the displeasure to endure. When I said I wasn't interested in their paid service, the rep strongly implied I didn't care about the welfare of my new dog, and said without paying for their premium package, the microchip is essentially useless. She then refused to help me set up an account with my correct contact details even though I phoned in because I had trouble registering my pet on their website. This insurance is a fraud. I have used it for my pet and almost $3000 later of vet expenses and I have not received anything from them. I called several times and sent my cat's medical records and they keep saying it is still not enough? And yet they collect monthly from me. I can't even change my vat's insurance because then I can't make my claims. The rep on the other line is rude and condescending as if I don't know or understand. The stress of having my cat sick is already too much and this insurance doubled my stress. I don't suggest this insurance at all. It's a bit overwhelming to search through the million different Pet Insurance companies, but we had a free month with these guys because of adopting our dog from our local animal shelter. Terrible customer service and overall shady company. I rescued my dog from a shelter and he already had their microchip implanted. My 2 other dogs have microchips from Home Again so I thought the process would be similar. It was not. In order to transfer my information onto the account, I called their number and spoke with Emily Brezina. Initially, she told me I was required to pay an annual fee to maintain services or a lifetime payment of $85. When I asked why Home Again was just the initial microchip fee of $20, she first said they also charge an annual fee. After I explained to her that I have 2 dogs with Home Again chips, she then changed her stance and said I don't have to do an annual or lifetime payment to have my information on the microchip. She then told me without paying extra, my information could not be given to a shelter or animal control that found my dog if he got lost. After questioning her further, she then changed her stance again and said I my information could be released to an organization if they found my dog. I understand they are trying to make money off of people, but this is just a ridiculously dishonest sales practice. She blatantly lied to me over the phone multiple times. They denied both claims because 1) they wanted a complete medical history on a rescue puppy. That is IMPOSSIBLE to get because the dog came from a shelter! 2) They lied and said the Vet did not submit the proper paperwork when the Vet did everything they asked. Do NOT give this company a single cent of your money. Believe me, if I could give negative stars, I would. My cat had a severe episode of gastroenteritis which required hospitalization, IV fluids, the works. They denied my claim based on an appointment that occurred during her illness waiting period where the vet ran a blood test because I reported that she had vomited the night before. They claimed that vomiting was therefore a pre-existing condition and that the two incidents were linked. I got DETAILED vet records from that appointment during the illness waiting period which showed completely normal blood work and lengthy notes from the vet that explicitly stated she was perfectly healthy, there were NO significant findings, no follow-ups needed, and that her "vomiting" episode was likely because she ate her food too quickly. Even after providing this information from an actual qualified professional, the company was still claiming that the incidents were clearly linked and no future incidents of vomiting would be covered because of the one time she ate her food too quickly and barfed it all up. Even if the claim denials were overturned (as they should have been), I still would have canceled my policy. Their claims department does not communicate at all when you submit a re-assessment form. I was given two completely different email addresses for the re-assessment and asked both several times for a confirmation of receipt but never received it. Their online portal also does not indicate anywhere if a re-assessment was received, leaving you to wait around for weeks with no idea if anything is being done. After submitting my initial re-assessment claim in which I explicitly stated the claim number needing to be re-assessed, it took several weeks until the claims review was uploaded on the portal and it turned out that they had re-assessed the WRONG CLAIM. I was promised after speaking with a representative about the incorrect re-assessment that a supervisor would get in touch with me (because the reps only advice was to "try again" and hope I get a literate assessor this time) but no one ever called. I literally had to copy/paste my original email and re-send the re-assessment form but this time bold and highlight the portions that the assessor had completely ignored. Seriously this organization is a scam - please listen to the reviews on this site. I regret not doing more research before signing up with them and will never go back on their plan. read more

This place is a joke! We adopted a dog from a local shelter. We were offered a 30-day free trial of their insurance. So I called and activated the insurance. Of course on that call they wanted me to continue the insurance which I told them I would have to discuss with my husband Etc. The gentleman at the end of the call told me we were good to go and our dog was covered. A few days later I had to take her into the vet and she ended up needing about $200 worth of care. So I contacted 24-pet watch... and wouldn't you know it! They claim she was not enrolled. They claimed I needed a credit card in order to enroll her for something that was free! Then they told me that I could continue with the enrollment process with a credit card but her visit to the vet's office would not be covered because it was prior to her enrollment! This place is a scam! They want you to pay $46 a month for pet insurance that does not, I repeat do not, cover vaccinations, well puppy checks, spay and neuter, and dental visits. You have to pay extra for all of that! Run as far away from these scam artists and thieves as you possibly can. There is also a24 petwatch dissatisfied customers page on fb where you can double check these facts. Last August my premium more than doubled from $32 to $75. When I called them to find out what happened, the excuse was that this raise was made to meet the standard of today's market. A market average for the same coverage today varies from $45-55. I have used this company for 4 years. Their website was designed by a inept moron who never actually used it. It takes 30 minutes to fill out a claim because you have to guess the condition that's on their list, you can just say foot infection because that is not on their limited list. It does not work with Chrome so you have to use Explorer that also sucks. They are slow to pay claims and you have to monitor them like a hawk because they will just zero out a claim if you are not on top of them. They eventually pay the claim but with their deductions. You basically have no one to speak with because the underwriter who does the claims is basically OZ and he is untouchable. The representatives are 'powerless' to even get an answer. I am using them, because changing would be far more expensive but I guess you always get what you pay for. I rate them a 2.5 out of 5. read more

I have been using 24petwatch for a four years, and the one time I have a claim, they are completely ignoring and denying my claim for inane reasons. I submitted the documentation properly, followed up, and it is being denied because they want vet records for the last 4 years. My vet faxed the documentation twice and emailed it once. I take my pets to the vet regularly, and now that I have a claim it was denied because: 1. The fax 'didn't go through' even though the vet has confirmation 2. 24 petwatch cannot accept an email with zip files (seriously???) 3. Their email system cannot accept an email that is larger than 10 megs. I have emailed several times, no one will reply to my emails. I am very frustrated with 24petwatch and suggest that anyone looking for insurance consider another provider. read more
