Bad tasting soda, and rude waitress! Party of two, we both ordered soda, and the taste was horrible! Switched immediately to water, and despite coming out of the "same line", the water tasted fine. The waitress was also rather rude, and wouldn't even entertain the idea of trying the soda from the bar because, again, it comes from the "same line"... I've been coming to 2510 since I was a little girl. A quick flashback to illustrate how long that actually is: I remember coming for dinner with my parents. It was a prom night and there were several teenage couples dining at tables near us. The girls were clad in poofy, ruffly ballgowns. High teased hair. Tacky corsages. Elbow-length satin gloves...which they kept on as they daintily grabbed french fries with their fancy fingers. It was hilarious. It was 1987. So, for nearly 40 years, I have loved their cheese curds. They are the best cheese curds I have ever had. Their neptune salad is a favourite lunch item. Their desserts and bakery items are delicious. The tiny toilet stall for children in the ladies' room has tickled me since I was young enough for it to be appropriate for me. I have many fond memories of 2510. Arrived at 245p and was told a 15 minute wait , as there were two tables that had a family at , LITERALLY All other tables were empty. Watched the hostess (Aubree) sit a family and they asked for a table and when she tried to sit them at a booth they reminded her they wanted a table and she rolled her eyes. We got Our soup and salad and the plates have been sitting at the edge of the table as our waitress Haylee) has walked past at least 15 times with out grabbing our empty plates as she goes up front to talk to the hostess or to walk to the fountain drinks and talk shit about how the hostess nit doing her job to another waitress. Arrived at 12:50. Two parties were waiting so we joined the cue but were surprised at the large number of empty tables and no immediate seating. Seated. No drink or appetizers offered. One waitress (who normally is a very good waitress) was the only wait staff for entire area. She apologized from across the room, took someone else's order, then disappeared. We waited... and waited. Waitress returned, took our order. Then we waited ... and waited. One coffee and water and we waited ... and waited. My salad arrived and wife waited .... and waited. Finished salad and we waited... and waited. Wife's chili arrived and I waited ... and waited. She finished chili and we waited... and waited. Other people seated but no service and we all waited... and waited. I had an appointment, we had been there for almost an hour, wife's salad never arrived nor my sandwich. Finally, we had to go to make appointment so I figured one coffee, one side salad, and cup of chili would not be more than $15 so I went to the front desk and offered the money for what we had eaten and asked that the rest be cancelled. If I did not pay enough for this 1/3 meal and service then they should forward a bill to me, settle back, and wait... and wait some more. read more

Gorgonzola Steak Bites is normally the only thing I can eat at this restaurant. I will leave commentary about other menu items out of this, but the first time I had Gorgonzola steak bites the meat was tender the bacon crisp and the Gorgonzola cheese sauce. Fantastic. This time, however, chef failed, the meat inside the bacon was overcooked and yet somehow the bacon was not fully cooked. I truly hope I do not become ill later but I was hungry, so I ate the bacon anyway, I can honestly tell you that I will never eat anything here again. After a long day at work I was so hungry. 2510 was the closest place to me, so I thought I should check it out. The service was great, my lady was very polite and helpful. Anything I asked she was right on it. took a reasonable time to get our food( the place was packed). I ordered the counter chicken sandwich. That was absolutely divine. After diner I took a stroll to the deli and wow the little deli girl was so kind and generous. Not a single mean bone in that girl's body. I got a deli bar. Staff was kind. Upscale tv dinner food, and extremely overpriced. I ordered the Granite Peak Steak. $32 and the steak was not properly rested so when i began to eat it, it bled all over my plate. The mushrooms were canned mushrooms, and the sauce was broken, oily and separating on my plate because it was either old and reheated or had been sitting for quite some time until they scoop some out to use for a dish. The swedish meatballs were a goopy mess. The only worthwhile thing to eat had been the beer batter cheese curds. And that was practically the only thing we ate, as we left our main plates half-eaten before leaving. Won't be coming back. read more

The only reason this place is not getting a big fat ZERO is because we did enjoy our food and the ambiance itself is great. Everything else from the lying hostess to the nonexistent bartender to the screaming match in the kitchen to the imaginary manager, whom we were promised twice and never materialized... an absolute Sh*t show. We waited over 15 minutes at the bar and only a bus boy ever came over and pushed a doorbell which resulted in nobody. The hostess stopped rolling silverware long enough to come over and say they don't have a bartender but they do have a manager and she would get them. 5 minutes go by and we are called for our table. Our server seemed rushed and brought back a regular Diet Pepsi, though we ordered a Korbel with Diet Pepsi. Our salads were wonderful, as were the Gorgonzola steak bites as an appetizer. My husband enjoyed his ribeye but the loaded baker and Broccoli were barely warm and the butter pads were downright hard. My steak was ordered medium and came out well done and absolutely smothered in Gorgonzola sauce - too much for me, so rich I couldn't eat more than a few bites. My enormous portion of sweet potato fries was delicious, but the ketchup bottle was empty. This was just our experience... the party dining next to us had an all around HORRIBLE experience including rotten service, leather-like ribeye, and being accused of not paying by the bus boy who is the one who actually took the cash and put it in the register. Dropped in here for a meal based on a suggestion from the front desk clerk at our hotel. The experience was less than stellar. We sat near the bar and really didn't ask for much - an app, a couple of burgers and some beers. Our one and only round of beers was immediately complicated by the keg running out. Usually not a big deal except it was replaced with a different kind of beer without cleaning, or even flushing, the lines first, which is generally considered a bad idea. I know this happened because the bartender told my friend that she'd pour a beer for him, but it might be a mix of the old and new beers. (I can only imagine the distributors would be thrilled to hear that...) This seems like something that a bartender should know about. Our server was really keen on us ordering everything immediately and had a remarkable ability to ignore almost everything we tried to get his attention. (My friend actually had to go into the kitchen to get ketchup after we asked for it twice.) The app we ordered was the half cheese curds, half onion straws. It was pretty good, but inexplicably luke warm. (The restaurant was next to empty.) We agreed that our burgers were both cooked exactly as ordered, though a bit under salted. I don't live in this city but realize that the after-effects of the pandemic means that good staff is not easy to come by. Hence I'll give the place three stars on hopes that I just had a mediocre experience on an off night and that it's better for other folks. read more

This used to be an excellent place to go for dinner. 20 years ago. Not so much now. It is essentially nursing home food and nursing home clientele. Easy to eat and swallow mushy foods. No effort to make the dinner special. Mashed potatoes and stuffing came in scoop form - just like from your grade school cafeteria. There are some good things here like the celebration cake, chicken salad, maybe a fish fry from the counter in the back. Drinks were very reasonable - $5-7. Server tried her best. yes I ordered their Chicken Teriyaki with the wild rice pilaf. The chicken came with charbroiled lines on it and the teriayaki came in a small plastic cup. The chicken looked rather naked without even a lettuce leaf or orange slice to dress it up. The Teriyaki sauce was right out of a bottle. The rice pilaf was rather well done. It might be just for lunch that this happens but I was there on my Birthday and it was quite a disappointment. My husband ordered one of their signature hamburgers and it was well dressed with a leaf of lettuce and tomato plus an orange slice. I yelped 2510 and saw the less than stellar yelp rating. The hotel I was staying at nearby had recommended them as a good dinner spot. Being hungry and not wanting to drive far, I took a chance and am so glad I did! I sat at the bar and ordered a delicious local craft beer that was on tap. Checked out the diverse menu and opted for the senior 1/4 rack pork ribs sided w/ steamed broccoli and a delicious fresh green salad topped with honey mustard dressing. Service was fast and accurate, the bartender was young and I am old so she was not especially outgoing. I had a delicious meal, checked in on yelp and received a $5.00 meal discount, WHAT A DEAL! Solid 4 star dinner experience and I learned when a restaurant does not have a high volume of reviews, the score may not be entirely accurate. 2510 is a solid quality stop and I will return when I am back in the area! read more

I have eaten at the 2510 a few times and I have had some decent meals and so not so good meals. I have been more impressed with the deli side of the business. I would go back again for lunch at the deli, but I have chosen other places for dinner. We had went for breakfast and went into what is apparently the "lunch side" of the restaurant. I said good morning to the hostess and told her that we'd been looking for someone who was here and asked if we could look. She asked "table to booth". I had asked if she knew of anyone that had come in alone. Again, she just said "table or booth". I said "I guess a table will work" and she seated us. I called our friend and he was on the other side of the restaurant and met us. We were informed by the waitress that there were separate sides to the restaurant and that "deli" side. It was packed and smelled like something had been burnt. We stood near the register and the cashier said we could find menus laying around if we wanted food, then walked away. We went to find a table in the adjacent room and were told that we couldn't sit there because that wasn't part of the deli. The deli was packed, and the other rooms were empty. I was here the other day for a private birthday event for my grandpa who was turning 90. The restaurant promised us a private room with tables and chairs for our large party of 16. Andy was our waiter and he was super helpful throughout the dinner, taking our family pictures, orders and maintaining the three little kids that accompanied our party. For appetizers, we ordered stuffed mushrooms (AMAZING) and chicken quesadillas. Very good for comfort food in the cold midwest night. For my dinner I ordered the southwest shrimp with broccoli and requested no sauce on my broccoli. The dinner was pretty good, if I should say so myself! I also stole some fries from my dinner pals which were delightful. I love their sweet potatoe fries. Overall, a good experience for me. Andy was able to handle our very large party and I am happy to say that I would recommend it to a friend looking for good old American food! By the way, they did a great job with the holiday decor! Was looking for a breakfast spot in Wausau, someplace relatively close to my hotel.... I wasn't having a ton of luck on my yelp iPhone app -- so i checked the website, and then checked this restaurant's website. They're open at 7am, so i figured they'd have breakfast. When I arrived, i learned that breakfast is only served in their back Deli - - which is at the very back of the restaurant. A nice hostess walked me though the restaurant to the deli - - but for your reference, the Deli has a separate entrance at the back. The breakfast in the deli works as following: Place your order at the bakery counter Pay at the counter Seat yourself, and food will be delivered to you To be entirely honest... I ordered the "Ultimate Breakfast Croissant". It wasn't what i thought it would be.... it was smothered with sauce, absolutely HUGE... and looked like an omelet. I think the sauce was the hollandaise eggs bene sauce - - which i didn't care for. (Photo attached.) The coffee was self-serve... unlimited refills. Nice!! I liked that. What happened to this place? The deli used to be a great quick stop for sandwiches Wasn't greeted by the one employee (fine), ordered a sandwich, they started typing and disappeared in the back to get a manager to help. Manager came and took my order, the employee finished and didn't speak. Unsanitary- they grabbed a bag and held it open with their chest, didn't use a wrapper to grab a desert bar. Sandwich mediocre. Used to come with pickles and carrots, did not this time. Also wasn't cut in half. Like come on? Wasn't offered a bag or silverware. Deli was filthy and empty. New to Wausau and stopped by for the first time for lunch today. Hubby had the half Turkey Cheddar sandwich & salad combo. The salad was the right portion size for lunch and he remarked on the tastiness of the smoked turkey and melted cheddar. I had the Reuben and cup of French onion soup. The Reuben was grilled to perfection -- tender, lean corned beef and a healthy layer of melted swiss and kraut, tucked between grilled marble rye. Service was friendly and attentive. We're planning to come back for their Friday Fish Fry and will try to leave some fish for the rest of ya'all! read more

The waitress was awsome. I had the lobster, it was low grade dog food, rubbery and snotty. Nice looking place but not well taken care of behind the scenes. Decent food but horrible server. Tall, brown haired girl working on October 6th around 5 pm was probably the worst server I've had. Not only was she sort of in a bad mood but when I mentioned I had a nut allergy she didn't seem to care or go ask to find out if the food had nuts in it. I have a severe allergy and I asked her if my food contained nuts and she just said hmm I don't know and walked away.... i had to get up and ask her to check and ask the cook or find out... she definitely doesn't realize the seriousness of these situations... the food was ok but this server should be fired for her poor customer service. read more

The food was wonderful but what was even better was the bartender and our waitress!!! It was our first time here and they helped make us feel comfortable and engaged. I had the cordon bleu and it was so good any other cordon bleu for me has been ruined. My wife had the roast beef sandwich and said it was the best she has ever had!!! I haven't eaten at 2510 in some time in their main restaurant. The food wasn't that great. My elderly parents love it here when visiting. However, their deli and bakery is superb!
