As far as local dinners go, this one does a great job. Excellent (and huge) menu, with breakfast, lunch and dinner is available. Pretty sure breakfast is "all day". I had a meat lovers skillet and I loved it! Plenty of food (couldn't finish it all) and was really loaded with toppings. The whole meal sat on a bed of great hash browns and was topped with two or three eggs (can't remember how many). My wife's sandwich was also good, but she thought the Split Pea Soup was only average. It was different, made without any thing in it (but peas), no ham, no potato, just a thin soup. Flavor was okay, but a little ham or another additive would have made it pretty darn good. We didn't save room for dessert, but the large selection of pies look sooooo good. Searching for the best biscuits and gravy in central Wisconsin. Biscuits tasted home made. Mostly soft and tasty, not overly fluffy or bready. I ordered poached eggs and they were done perfectly. The gravy was very good, there was a lot! It was seasoned just right and it was smooth and tasty. I orders a half order (1 biscuit cut in half) but there was enough gravy for another half of biscuit I think. It was early in the morning so they were not very busy. I've been here many times and there is a wait for a table. The service is always great anyway. I enjoyed it being slow so I could enjoy my coffee after I finished the B&G. Overall very good. Food nothing special. On one visit they were not accepting credit cards, and they made an elderly disabled man run down the street to an atm. On our last visit a snarky waitress harassed us until we told her to go away. Then she refused to our order. We left and never returned. read more

I'm going to give 4 stars for Blue Willow for 3 reasons. The food is 3-star food but here is what puts it to 4-stars: 1. The service is great and they keep,your coffee cup full. Now the coffee is not great but it is hot and they are CONSTANTLY filling it every few minutes. 2. They give you a LOT of food. I had a three egg omelet and I got hash browns and pancakes (they were very good). 3. The price is worth it. You get a lot of food for a cheap price. I had the Denver Omelet and it was very good. In the past, our experiences here have always been good be it service, food quality, surroundings. As usual, I'm late with my posting but we were there for an early dinner almost 3 weeks ago following a dentist appoinment of mine. Fifteen minutes after we were seated in the front of the restaurant, some 2.5 yo or so kid in the back room started crying and screaming and totally carrying on. Management did nothing. Not a SINGLE employee in this place made the parent(s) take this kid outside of the restaurant. This toddler carried on like this the ENTIRE TIME we were there (1.25 hours)!!! The parents or whomever the kid was with didn't seem to care that they were ruining everyone else's time at Blue Willow and obviously the staff and any management of Blue WIllow didn't care a damn either. Just totally UNACCEPTABLE! Blue Willow apparently needs some training - the management and owners included - on how to contend with disruptive, crying, screaming kids. Just COMPLETELY OBNOXIOUS!!! Not to mention the service is phenomenal and they have a lady making rounds every 8 minutes to top off your coffee so you don't run out. I've been to multiple different restaurants for breakfast and brunch in the area and they're not good at all! The restaurant itself doesn't have a tom fo parking so if you go during peak business hours, you may consider parking across the street in the gas station/A&W parking lot. When we arrived, the place was hopping with business, but the staff handled it like pros. And the food was so yummy! I had the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are beautifully soft and fluffy and they aren't cheap on the gravy (just the way I like it)! My sister had the stuffed french toast which she said was divine! To the restaurant: my only suggestion would be to offer diced potatoes for breakfast instead of just hash browns (but that's just a personal preference.) I've been to Blue Willow twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast, both times on road trips through Wisconsin. Both times, we had an excellent experience. The menu is classic coffee shop/diner/Americana, and portions are gigantic. The coffee is coffee-shop coffee (i.e, good and not some fancy brew), and refills are prompt. Service is super friendly and helpful. Lots of locals dine here which is always a great sign. Huge parking lot. read more

They breakfast was average at best. I tried the biscuits and gravy, as is the benchmark. The staff seemed light and hurried, the overall dining experience was sub par. The table density within this restaurant does not appear to have been adjusted for covid. In normal time it is way too crowded and would not want to dine here. They had hand sanitizers and masks seemed suggested within the place, but like I said it was way to crowed to make a difference. You would think that the food was better, it was cheap, but then you get what you pay for. I am sympathetic to small business but in the end if you can't pivot then you may have issues long term either way. Raise your prices and provide a better service and experience. Overall I don't think I would stop back. read more

I've been here several times I do enjoy all their soups. With their targeted audience consistency is key and this restaurant is very consistent. It's always busy, it feels overly crowded for the space, felt like tables and people are on top of you. I love coming to Wisconsin for work trips during the fall and spring. Everywhere you go in these small/midsize towns reminds you of when you went to Wisconsin or Norther Michigan for summer camp. Earthy colors, wood shingles and the smell of pines. The Blue Willow is no exception. The wood plank walls and nature print on the seat backs are awesome. The inside is L shaped with a large open area and skinny area along the side. There's also a small diner counter. On to the food! Coffee and water came immediately without having to order it. I ordered a Ham and Cheese (Swiss) omelet, hash browns AND a pancake. Note: that is very unusual from what I'm used to in my locale. I also ordered a side of bacon. Coffee was good, not local creamer though, it's imported from Texas. The omelet was very good. If you are from one of the more cheese-deprived states, be ready for the amount of cheese in your omelet to shock you. Hash browns were ok, good crisp but nothing out of the ordinary. Bacon was both crisp and chewy, a rare find in the breakfast world anymore. Now the pancakes. The pancakes were the STAR! Slight butter flavor in the pancake itself, with a big dollop of butter on top. So good. I should/could have just ordered a pancake and been happy. Definitely way more food than I could eat in on sitting, except I did. And I don't regret it. Check it out! Note: They don't take AMEX for you corporate travelers. But, if you want some good breakfast, skip the continental breakfast at the hotel and go to the Blue Willow. read more

Clean restrooms and restaurant. French fries were amazing! I had an non-toasted BLT and hubby had an omelet with has brown. Hash browns were cooked crispy and perfectly as requested same with the bacon. The omelette was exactly that...an omelette NOT a scramble folded over and called an omelette.
