Happened to be in town and found this place through Yelp. We came for lunch and were very pleased. I got a side salad and the salmon lunch entree. It was all delicious and very reasonably priced. My side salad was only one dollar and my entree was only ten. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. We never had an empty glass and she was around often enough to be sure we also had anything else we needed. We all left stuffed and very happy. Will definitely go again when we are in town. Wish it was closer to where we live in Huntersville, I would go all the time. read more

An upscale presentation, well appointed surroundings, well trained staff, interesting menu. I visited 2520 twice. Once for a drink at the bar, a great glass of Scotch. the next for dinner (I again sat at the bar). After a LONG day at Market, it hit me just after I started looking at the menu that I wasn't very hungry at all. So, I steered away from entrees and full meals turning instead to the app section. I chose Lobster Nachos. The dish was very good. The variety of textures and flavors fit together in this beautifully presented and tasty dish. A generous portion priced at about $9. I look forward to visiting 2520 in the future when I can enjoy a full meal. 3.5 stars but I couldn't find a good enough reason to bump up to four. read more

This establishment is beyond exceptional. The staff is fantastic which I'm sure means the owners are quite upstanding people who care about quality of food and service. I am new to the area from Chicago and haven't found any food remotely as good as the food up north. However, I finally found a sport worthy enough to bring my mom to during a recent visit of hers. I suggest the dish "East Meets West" and the appetizers are beyond wonderful! I'm looking forward to trying new meals. It is definitely worth the drive from Greensboro! We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner at 2520 Tavern in their private room and we can not say enough good things about our experience. Maria and Paul (the owners) were so awesome to work with. They did everything we asked and provided professional service to keep the evening running on time and without a hitch. The food was incredible. Many of our family members who came from different parts of the country commented that their filets were the best that they had ever had. We took my mom there for her birthday tonight and had Conner as our server. I would have never known he just started serving tables because he was spot on. Offered to get the kids food going right off the bat to keep him entertained. I've lived at the OBX, in Hawaii, and now in Seattle WA so I'm pretty picky about seafood. We shared the southwest mahi mahi, stuffed flounder and the blackened salmon. All of them were really good. My personal favorite was probably the stuffed flounder. The birthday desert was some doughnut/carmel dipping sauce desert and it was exceptional as well. The comparison to Village Tavern is close. The seafood is probably better, the steaks are probably lagging a little compared to the tavern, and the environment is similar. (I haven't eaten at Village Tavern in 10 years so that comparison may be a little off). Draft beers for 2.50 was also a good deal for the night. All in all, it was a comfortable environment with good food and good service. I'll go back when in town. read more

We found 2520 on Yelp as it is about 59 miles from home. We were very pleased. The atmosphere was comfortable, the service very nice and the food very good. Quantities were each larger than expected. We will definitely will will return. It a great location for us to stop either going to or returning from with Asheville or Boone. read more

Five of us popped into the 2520 for dinner around 8pm on a Saturday. While there were empty tables in the front, they still had us wait ~15-20 minutes - not cool. I ordered the bourbon steak and shrimp which the waitress gave a thumbs up to after I asked her between this dish and the burger (she said it was a lot of food which it was and so I opted out of it). The steak was sadly just meh. I had to ask for A1 sauce as it seemed bland and needed salt - that kick- despite the bourbon sauce. The butter in the potato pancake along with the steak, shrimp and corn was good all together but nothing to write home about. Butter seems to make everything taste good so I took the table bread and dipped it into the liquid remnants of the sauce from my plate. Service was peppy and friendly. And no complaints on the wine either. My friends raved about the burger and the calamari though. read more

My meal and service was unacceptable this evening. I ordered the hamburger steak medium well and it came out very uncooked raw red bloody. Sent it back and the second one was the same. Sent it back and told the waitress seeing this twice is making me sick. She said, I'll get the manager. So didn't see anyone for awhile. I grab the hostess and tell her I don't want the hamburger again. The waitress walks up and I advise her to just replace with chicken tenders. Note, my co worker is already done with her meal. So I heard the manager say take it off her bill.. we'll that was the hamburger steak. When I got my bill the tenders were on the bill. I was a bit surprised. You just gave me not one but TWO RAW pieces of meat and I didn't get to eat with my guest. Also note the tenders were so burnt they were dry and made my tongue sore to eat. I didn't have the heart to send them back. Now I wish I did!! So l asked to talk to the manager. The manager /owner said it's a "business decision" that if you order something else other than the messed up item you'll be charged. She said, I'll take it off your bill "this time". I work in this area and visit this restaurant sometimes twice a week... nope not anymore. I'll be checking out other options. This is a very poor business decision to charge someone that was served raw red bloody meat not once but twice. It's called customer service and making things right. Overall, very good meal. Nice ambiance, and good service. Started with the caesar salad, which was standard but good. The bread that they serve before the meal is really good. I ordered the Seafood and Cheese, which I was expecting to be like a Seafood Mac and Cheese. It wasn't quite a mac n' cheese, more of a cajun cream pasta with cheese, but it was delicious. Very rich. I would highly recommend it. We were too full to try the desserts, but they had several that looked great. read more

Food: We ordered the lobster nachos, and oysters 2520 feller, and a ribeye with asparagus as a side. If I ever visit again, I will get the lobster nachos sans barbecue sauce! The BBQ sauce Completely destroys any chance for the lobster taste to get out. The oysters were okay, neither good nor bad - about as expected. The ribeye was good, not great, but exactly inline with the cost. only reason they got that one star is because i had to put it... So just a little about 2520 in Clemmons. Me and family went to eat there last night (April 16, 2021) and I have never been somewhere that was so rude and argumentative. We got there at 6:45 and some of us got there at 6. So we waited for an hour granted we expected that cause we had a party of 15 and it was for a birthday. So we finally get sat down. We get our drinks ordered and food got some appetizers. Well we know that food should be out shortly after appetizers cause that's just how it works. Well wrong we ask about 3 times where our food is at because it's going on a hour that we have been waiting for our food. We got told it would be right out. Waited another 30 mins then we told the waitress that we understood that none of this was her fault but if the food wasn't out in 5 mins we were leaving. Then it all started the co-owner came out and was really rude and talked to us like a co-owner should not talk to someone. Tried to tell us that they had another big party in front of us and they were sorry the food was taking so long and wanted to argue with us about why our food was taking so long and said that if we were to leave that the waitress would have had to pay for our whole meal. Not to mention there was maybe 20 other people in the restaurant and they were all party's of 2 maybe 4 max. Remind you we had been waiting almost 2 hours for our food! And that's with waiting an hour to be seated so at this point we're ready to leave anyways. We finally get our food and we got all but one plate pretty sure if we wouldn't have asked it would have been another hour we'd been waiting just for ONE plate of food. Anyways we eat literally took us about 30 to 45 mins to eat after waiting a total of 2 hours for our food. The co-owner comes back out and wants to be rude again after everything is settled and done. At this point we're like why argue about it when it's over with. Needless to say we won't be going back to 2520 in clemmons because the co-owner was rude and having to wait 2 hours for food is ridiculous and they weren't busy!! A little side note! The waitress was more than helpful and was sweet! She done nothing wrong. read more

My wife & I have eaten at 2520 5 or 6 times and have always enjoyed our experience. Fresh specials, friendly service, pleasant atmosphere and the bacon vinaigrette is phenomenal! We threw a 50th anniversary party for my Mother & Father-in-law & decided to use 2520. There were 43 guests. The celebration was a huge success. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the food and how good the service was. It is impossible to pick one thing that stands out, above the others in this restaurant...My husband and I have visited this place many times, and have also gone back with friends and family, because there is nothing disappointing about this restaurant...We love this place so much, that we chose it to have a celebration of life last week, for our dearly departed, and it was everything we expected, and then some...From the minute I met with Maria to make the plans for this day, I knew we made the right choice..."Her empathy, compassion, and understanding for this day to be extra special came through as she helped us plan this day...Upon arrival we were greeted by staff that would be taking care of us throughout the day, and they offered their help, and services continually...They genuinely cared, and it showed in all they did for us...During the ceremony, celebration, Paul made it a point to come to us personally, express his condolences, and check to see if there was anything more they could do for us...The food was excellent as usual, and the service was superb...Anna and Erin took charge and made sure everyone was served, taken care of in a timely fashion, and did so with a smile on their faces...I will continue to frequent this place, and most certainly recommend it every chance I get...Thank you Maria, Paul, Anna and Erin, for making this celebration of life a sacred, and enjoyable memory for all of us.... I hosted my Mom's 70th birthday party at 2520 and it was outstanding. The owners, Paul and Maria, went out of their way to accommodate our every need. We had 60 people for the event on a busy Saturday night, and the 2520 staff were polite, courteous, and overwhelmingly gracious with their service. We had blackened chicken and grilled salmon that was perfectly cooked. My mother was ecstatic and we are all thankful for the way 2520 made it a special evening. read more

The burgers here are good but last night I ordered the Tavern Chicken and it was not very good. Very dry, corn wasn't done and it had a plain piece of ham and a slice of tomato on the chicken. They didn't even bother to grill the tomato or the ham. Very disappointed especially because it was $13 a plate. read more

2520 Tavern is one of our favorite restaurants. We love to go at lunch and sit in the bar, mainly for the lady bartender who almost always seems to be there. She is so spot on with her customer service skills! She is the reason we keep coming back! The restaurant management needs to do whatever is necessary to keep this tremendous asset. I say all this, because we went yesterday and she was not there! Oh no! Needless to say we were disappointed. The bartender that waited on us needs a little coaching. The service was not good, almost felt we were an inconvenience. Still give you 3 stars, because food is always good- but that stellar customer service is what sets places apart from just the average restaurant. read more

Awesome dinner tonight. We went with five adults and six children; service was excellent, food was even better. Valy was our server and she was very attentive to us the entire night. I had the salmon piccata - EXCELLENT! I would definitely get it again. The ladies in my Clemmons neighborhood meet for lunch once a month, and the location for August was 2520 Tavern. We had reservations for 13 at noon, and 4 tables were arranged in a square so we could see each other and easily converse. The atmosphere was pleasant and we were given appropriate attention by our server. I ordered a crab cake with slaw (a teeny portion) and sweet potato fries. Several baskets of tasty, warm rolls were brought to the table. The crab cake and slaw were very good, and the fries were AWESOME - the very best I've ever eaten. I still miss the Dockside, which used to be in this location. The menu actually has a "Dockside section" for us old timers who miss the previous restaurant. The very full parking lot attests to the popularity of 2520 for both lunch and dinner. read more

The place has had good service both times I have visited. During my last visit the food was just not up to par though, for a plate to be named Seafood Pasta ($17.89+tax) I would expect quite a bit of seafood. Instead, we only got 4 pieces of shrimp and 2 scallops out of the whole plate; we originally only got 2 pieces of shrimp and 2 scallops but we mentioned it to our server and was quickly compensated with 2 more pieces of shrimp. The other plate we ordered was the Greek Pasta ($11.49+tax) which we added $6.99(+tax) for scallops to be topped on to. Again, we only got 4 scallops out of the whole plate; just a bit disappointing if anything. Our meals did come with salads and bread though so it compensates for the lack of seafood in our order if you want to focus on the positives. The bread is served with a garlic butter, it's pretty tasty. They do have a kids menu! Be aware though, the red sauce for their pasta is spicy. Who would've thought that the kid's pasta would be spicy? Overall, I don't think the garlic butter is that big of a staple that I would come back for it. read more

The wife, baby L, and I was invited here recently for a business dinner. Our waiter was Joe and he was excellent. They have a full bar and a good beer and wine list. Think they had about eight beers on draft. I have had several different meals here. Loved the strip in the past. Tonight I had the flounder. It was awesome. Food is good, location is great. Just did brunch there today. Service was outstanding. I had the breakfast nachos and they were delicious!! Loaded with eggs,bacon, avocados, and cheese. My partner had the chicken and waffles and cleaned his plate proclaiming them to be excellent. Waitress kept my coffee cup filled.which is a plus for me. On our way home from visiting our son and his family we decided to go back to the 2520 Tavern for a 2nd visit after a very good experience here before. It was later on a Sunday and we had missed the crowds for the day so we were seated immediately. Our server, Valy, promptly was there to take our drink order and we also ordered the Onion Ribbons as an appetizer. Mary had what has become her normal order, the American Burger with Cheese and fries which she said was very, very good! Her words, which are high praise from her! Based on a note that the dish I was interested in was from the old Docksider menu, I had the Popcorn Shrimp dinner and I wasn't disappointed even this far from the coast. The meal came on a large plate of which 1/2 was covered with popcorn shrimp, a very generous portion for the price of $10.99 and included French Fries and Coleslaw. And the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The French Fries were great. And Valy did a great job of checking on us and keeping the drinks refreshed.
