Definitely something for everyone. My friend ordered an iced tea and they refilled happily. I went with the chicken gyro, which essentially is a Souvlaki. Grilled chicken , fresh veggies, tzatziki on a grilled pita. Lots of filling and I got the house made chips . They don't give a side with sandwiches, looks like they are all à la carte. $1.50 wasnt a bad price though. Loved my pita I would only suggest maybe they grill the onions and instead of fresh. Loved the chips as they were dry and not oily . Served with ranch. My friend ordered the walnut chicken salad sandwich. Then realized when she got it it's full of onions which she could not eat. She felt bad for having not asked when she ordered it. Our server was so nice to see if they could trade it out and they did with zero fuss. It making her feel bad. She opted for the cheese burger. Which she loved and came out looking great. Very fresh with all the trimmings in a nice big bun. She said she's definitely get that again. Went for a quiet bite and found a nice spot. Good service and a lot of affordable options that don't feel like you're breaking the bank. I ended up having a pizza night which was about $7 for the smaller option which was about 4 slices and $9 for the bigger option which was about 8 slices. The Pizza's were yummy with crispy crusts which is how i like them. Would definitely come again and see what else their menu offers. I visit here all of the time for breakfast with friends, and it's wonderful. Generous portions and super affordable. I decided to try it tonight for dinner for the first time. I'm trying different places in Winston for their fish. Honestly, their lemon butter salmon was pretty bad. It was just... butter. That was the only flavor. If you're into that, I guess go for it. The staff were really friendly as always, and the place was packed. So, expect it to be a bit loud if you come in the evenings, but that shows how well it's doing. read more

We often go to Johnny B for breakfast. The service is great as are the prices. Food taste homemade. Feel like moms house. We have a group that goes once a month and they take such great care of us. They always make sure your order is correct and keep your drinks are filled. Love it here. Today we went for lunch it was a first time, I ordered the Greek Trio it was fantastic, grilled chicken & shrimp, Greek salad, fried potatoes. Added was tzatziki sauce & Greek dressing. I actually got the same dish the second time I came (so boring I know) because I really liked it the first time, and I was also curious to see how closely it would be made. It was the boneless country fried chicken breast with gravy and bacon thrown in there too. It was great! Super indulgent, just salty enough, the bacon was real and good quality and stolen off my plate by my bacon-fiending child with haste. She got just a sides plate with Mac and cheese and fries and they were both good quality, Mac and cheese especially so- I've had that twice now too and both times it was really nice, very cheesy, obviously homemade, not box stuff, and not bland like a lot of them can be. Been a loyal patron of JB since the day they opened; the food and service has been nothing but amazing. That being said, my most recent visit was disgusting and makes me question if I want to continue to be a loyal customer at JB. Upon arrival I notice me a lady with a dog in one of the grassy areas outside near the front door of JB. The dog just used the bathroom and then brought the dog into the restaurant. When being sat by the host I asked to be seated away from the dog. The host was not phased the slightest and asked likely request was "unusual". The sun was coming through the windows and every-time the dog would shake, I could see a significant amount of dust, hair and what else drifting through the air, going around other patrons tables and their food. Pleasantly surprised about how good our meal was at Johnnys. We had an impromptu Sunday breakfast around 11am and Didnt wait at all. We were Seated at a clean table as soon as we walked in and our food was hot and ready within 10 minutes of ordering. Waitress was quick and professional! Biscuits and gravy were really good. Fresh biscuit and sausage gravy was perfect consistency. Has browns were crispy! Western omelette was cooked perfectly and was loaded with toppings! Solid 5 stars from server and food but took off a star because of the lady with medium length blond hair. She sat us at a table by putting menus on it and kept right on walking. No hello, welcome in..nothing. Then afterwards she took our check and said "tip?" I told her how much to tip. Then she said "receipt?" I said no. No smiles, no thanks for coming, come again. This is not a really big space, somewhat narrow rectangularly shaped, the booths and tables are closely packed in most areas - you will hear your neighbors conversations, like it or not! I settled for Steak & Soft Scrambled Eggs, White Toast, Shredded Hash Browns. The steak was out very quickly, right at 10 minutes. It was done more than the medium rare I requested, but was tender and had great flavor. The eggs were perfectly soft scrambled, & the hash browns were tasty. There was a single slice of toast, bit on the cheap side - standard for diners in the area is 2 slices - I mean dang we're talking white loaf bread here! Some what of a mixed bag here on the initial visit, but more good than not, much potential, nicely varied menu. Will make a return visit for lunch now that I have learned more about how they operate. Oh boy, I didn't wanna rate them low. We've been here two times before and had excellent experiences each time. But this evening...not so much! It was crazy busy on a Friday night, and I understand that means there can be a bit of a backup in the kitchen. But tonight they were totally overwhelmed. After waiting for a table to become free, we were taken over to ours, which was right next to the bathroom. I have a thing about seeing people marching in and out of the bathroom and the doors constantly swinging open, but I was hungry and didn't want to wait longer. But I should have, given the "slow factor" here today. I saw a stream of guests going to and from the rest rooms. Our waitress was sweet. She got our water quickly and promptly took our orders, but then got caught up taking many other orders. Hubby's mini salad came with onions after he asked not to have them. Then an extra long wait without food or a check in. My chicken kabobs were drier than the last time I had them here. Hubby's meal looked good. But I realized late in the meal that the tastiest part, the corn muffin, was never delivered. I did ask for one to go. The slowness was the thing that bothered me the most. But the food wasn't awesome enough to make up for it this time. Will we return? Yes, but not at 6 pm on a Friday. read more

We have had this place on our list to try for a while and thought we would check it out today. A lot of places are closed on Sunday but Johnny B's is open until 2pm. We arrived about 10:30am, we had anticipated a bit of a wait but were surprised that even though they were busy we were seated right away. We were offered drinks and provided menus. The menu only offered breakfast but they also have a lunch/dinner menu. We are thinking lunch may be offered beginning at 11 or 11:30am. They are open for dinner every day but Sunday. My wife noticed their steak and eggs was reasonably priced so she decided to order it with a biscuit and side of gravy. I chose the meat lovers omelet with home fries and wheat toast. We thought the inside was decorated cute with a farmhouse motif and they also have a nice patio area that would be great in nicer weather. Our orders arrived in a timely manner and looked yummy. My wife said her steak was really yummy and she enjoyed her biscuit as well. My omelet was tasty and I enjoyed the home fries too. Overall, this was a great experience and we will be back to try more items on their menu. read more

Called in a Togo order, my food was ready for pick up on time and correctly placed. But the food was pretty gross just due to the simple fact it was just saturated in fatty grease. With no napkins in the bag - I had no choice but to wipe my greasy hands on my work pants... Plus, there wasn't much to my "thinly sliced" Philly cheese. The steak was thinly sliced. However, there just wasn't much on my sandwich to begin with. I also paid for and received a side of fries. They tasted like the grease and no seasoning. Nothing except the flavor of grease. I paid an extra 1.25 to only eat a few fries because they were just nasty. Just sloppy food honestly for the price if I was the owner I wouldn't want to put my stamp on it. read more

First time here, our friends recommended this place. The place is well decorated inside, very modern and clean. It's welcoming and cozy inside. We were seated at a booth, which I will say needed more leg room for people over 6 feet tall. The service was excellent, super kind and friendly waitress who did an excellent job waiting on us. I have been a regular at Jonny B's for a long time and usually give them 5 stars, but today's experience was dangerous and deeply disappointing. I have a medical allergy to lemon, orange, and lime. When I presented my allergy card, the waitress was rude and just stared at it blankly. She told me she 'couldn't guarantee' the food was safe and was dismissive of the fact that a manager had previously verified the spaghetti was safe for me. On my last visit, the server I had also didn't write it on the ticket initially, but she immediately did the right thing and brought the manager out to talk to me and confirm safety. That made me feel secure. Today, this waitress did neither. She didn't call a manager, she was rude about the request, and--most concerning--she never wrote the allergy on the ticket. This left me not knowing if she even alerted the kitchen at all. I ended up eating the meal, but I spent the entire time stressed about a potential reaction because my health was treated as an inconvenience. We came over and were greeted with no wait, but it was a bit busy (possibly because of the holiday, but I'm not sure). They had a breakfast special with two pancakes, two eggs, and a choice of bacon or sausage and it came with a side of grits. My wife and I ordered the same except she ordered the sausage and I got the bacon...well mine was better, but the sausage was good. Yum yum yum. We went here for breakfast and it was a wonderful start to our day. Our server was outstanding, and so friendly to my daughter. Not too mention, it was VERY affordable. My husband got the waffles banana split and although it was unique, he thought it was delicious. I got the bacon and cheddar omelet with grits and it was also delectable. I wish I had gotten more grits they were so good. I was surprised at the sanitation rating, posted by the registers. I have been to this location multiple times over the last few weeks. I will share that is hit or miss. The menu is vast and provides options for everyone. The mushroom Swiss, bacon burger was very tasty yet you must pay additional for a side. Beef tips and chicken fried chicken has been delicious on some visits and not so much on others. I seem to have a penchant for visiting on Wednesday, as their meatloaf special is pretty tasty. I ask for mashed potatoes, peas, and a roll on the plate, and that fuels me up for under ten bucks. I was hoping for the home cooking type of meal I've had at Johnny B's before, but this was not it. The meatloaf, mash potatoes, and corn reminded me of school cafeteria food. The potatoes tasted like powdered potatoes. The corn lacked butter and flavor like they were described. I'm not sure what inspired the meatloaf sauce, but it's not at all what I was expecting or hoping for. I might just add some spaghetti and have a pasta dish with the meat and marinara from the meatloaf. Found myself in this area again, and it was one of those days where I wasn't exactly sure what food I was in the mood for, so started thinking of places that have a variety of food on offer. Enter Johnny B's! The last time I came I had a simple pizza lunch special and really enjoyed it, and this time I was angling for dinner. After a perusal of the large menu, I felt I wanted some creamy pasta with side salad and some zucchini bites. This was entirely too much food, but my eyes were way bigger than my stomach at this particular point. First came the zucchini bites, and they were fantastic. I love how a crunchy batter and a softed zucchini interact to make something delicious. Great dipping sauce too! (I think it was standard ranch) Side salad came out next. While nothing special, it had a good amount of veggies and was pleasing to the eyes. It did the work. Then comes the main dish, the Cajun shrimp and sausage penne. It was great! Creamy, but with nice contrasts of spice thanks to the sausage and baked in cajun spices. Nice amount of shrimp, and they were pretty plump! They definitely don't do anything small here. Overall. Very impressed with this place. Felt I needed to up my rating to that 5th star. They fill the niche perfectly of a family restaurant, and a great place to go when you don't know what you want to eat, or need to please a wide variety of tastes. I was pleasantly surprised about this place.  The location was a little off putting as it was past the chaos of shops off Stratford Rd. Yet,  it was well worth it. The actually restaurant was very cute and the staff was friendly. The menu had something to offer everyone.  And,  they have daily specials that were very appetizing.  I went on Monday which has a 1-topper large pizza for $5.50. Now, it was a large PERSONAL pizza (see picture). Yet, it was the perfect size for a single somewhat hungry person. I feel like this place might suffer from having a menu that is too diverse. It has a lot of options, but it is a jack of all trades master of none situation? We had a cheeseburger and fries and the chicken pesto fettuccine. They were both good and big enough to take home leftovers but I won't be racing back to have it again. Walking it the hosts are kind of hidden which is an odd choice but they got us to a table quick. I will say some of the booths are going to be a tight fit, especially if you want to take a deep breath after your meal. But they also have tables available.
