The worst quality sushi I think I've ever had at a restaurant, next would be gas station sushi. Order the sushi and sashimi for two, rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll, spicy yellow tail roll, and shrimp yakisoba. Really wish we didn't order so much everything was terribly low quality and tasted poorly. Spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail had an odd texture as if they cut it with something in order for it to go further. Yakisoba needed more sauce and seasoning it was super bland. Rolls had tons of imitation crab and tasted bland. Nothing was fresh. For all the nigiri and sashimi, it tasted so bland and lacked freshness that we actually needed to chop it up and turn it into poke just to make it edible. We tossed it in a ponzu sauce over rice and with all the toppings made it decent just to stomach it. Total was $94 for everything and I don't have one good thing to say. The most superlative & affordable restaurant for Japanese cuisine and exemplary restaurant service. Mia was our server and sensed our needs immediately without interrupting or speaking much. We had come late at 2 pm and the restaurant closed at 3 pm for lunch. Mia made sure I got my orders in before 2:45 pm when they stop taking orders for AYCE meal purchases for lunch time. There is an additional fee if you don't finish all the food on your plate for AYCE purchases to prevent wasting food & money and to keep prices low. The place was quiet despite having customers at a late time. Loved all the booth seating there and interior decor. It was a mix of modern design & Asian style. Very comfortable, clean, and spacious restaurant. Bathrooms were clean, chic, & modern style Large television screens in the restaurant. One of the televisions had cartoons on it - for children I guess. I selected the AYCE sushi for $27. First order was two sushi rolls: The Christmas roll and Ola sushi roll. The Christmas roll had raw salmon, avocado, masago, and tobiko. The Ola roll had eel, crab, cream cheese, and cucumber. I also two single white tuna sushi, 2 single masago sushi, and 2 single tobiko sushi. It was splendidly displayed on a wooden dragon platter. Despite being full, I ordered a second round of sushi to sample food items I never had: 1 tofu skin sushi, 1 mackerel sushi, and 1 yellowtail sushi. Plus two pieces of takoyaki or fried octopus balls. My husband ordered hibachi shrimp fried rice and said it was delicious. We both ordered Diet Coke. I made a mental note about how I should have skipped meals for two days instead of one before coming here for AYCE. Total price along with two drinks was $43. Not including tips for our server and the sushi chefs. They do give military discount with ID. Definitely a go see restaurant for great Japanese cuisine and AYCE. If you go for the AYCE meal deal, try skipping 2-3 meals and eat it on an empty stomach. read more

My husband and I went here for lunch. I heard really good things about it and who doesn't like an all you can eat sushi place?? So first the servers are very friendly. It's a huge plus! We never felt rushed and honestly felt like they'd probably wanted to just keep feeding us lol but either way they were super Duper nice and I would come back for the service alone. The interior was pretty nice and spacious. It's a pretty generous menu of both hot appetizers, cold appetizers, and sushi. Kids under 4 are free. We very much enjoyed the beef dumplings, crab Rangoon, and shrimp tempura. The kitchen appetizers are spot on and fried to perfection!! The sushi was pretty good, although I would personally prefer the rice to be a little softer. The fish, however, was tasty well prepared. Avocado was very fresh and flavorful. Great AYCE spot! I like the price of $26 doesn't increase on weekends, making it a pretty good deal compared to similar all you can eat sushi places. There is an enough variety, but I really like simple eel and salmon sushi. The charge is extra if you want sashimi, but they don't over-rice any of the rolls. Someone also got crab Rangoons which came out cold and thin, and the fried California roll which was a little bland and not very appetizing looking. We've eaten here twice, so I feel like this review is justified enough. AYCE sushi for the price they offer? Excellent. Can't beat it. However, you pay for what you get. The quality is not the greatest. One of the yellowtail rolls we got tasted like it was left out too long... and had that taste like it's going bad. The shrimp tempura appetizer was also stale. Also, we cannot ask for additional requests- we asked if the salmon nigiri can be seared but they declined to. Our server was also a bit rude or has a resting -_- face, but she didn't seem happy to be serving us whenever we requested for more sushi or appetizer... which is why we hesitated to ask for anything else. There were other AYCE sushi around the DMV area. I only go here for the distance to my home & price, but this will definitely be my last resort going forward. read more

Everyone at the table has to choose the same deal, so when two of us wanted the slightly more expensive all-you-can-eat sashimi option, we couldn't get it unless all ten people at our table ordered it too. Service was also a bit slow--our waitress often disappeared, and other staff members ended up bringing our food instead. Sushi AYCE Review, Located in the Gunston Plaza (near the DMV & post office). No reservation was needed on a Thursday evening. First things first, the price for AYCE sushi probably can't be beat. Second, the gentleman that greets and seats is very kind. Our waitress was nice but felt a bit rushed about 30 minutes in- kind of like "cmon know what you are going to order and then let's get you eating and out the door". I didn't feel like the sushi was fresh or great quality (which is probably to be expected at an all you can eat --and this was my first time for AYCE sushi). It just wasn't the type of sushi I'm used to and it didn't look like it was a neat cut. Also, the shrimp tempura...Costco's frozen ready made tempura is in better batter. I don't think I'll be returning, but they seem to have a wide selection on their menu! read more

Granted, remember you are paying an all you can eat price and at times, it's about quantity, not quality!! Unfortunately I didn't know they close around 3pm then open up at 5pm for dinner time but still had ample time to order everything. The service was friendly, efficient and fast as they were cleaning up during the hour which I felt bad about coming in during their lunch closing time around 2pm. The pinnacle of sushi buffets is here! Came here for lunch for the first time and was blown away by the price and the fact it's an all-you-can-eat buffet that includes appetizers and hibachi. The service here is great during lunch. The hot items come out very hot and the sushi is great. I'm more of a hibachi and appetizers person and had several plates of each. There basically arent any AYCE sushi that I have found in the DMV area unfortunately. When I saw this pop up, I did have moderate expectations based on their menu offerings and price. BLUF: affordable and good, but not great. Service outstanding, food very good, but desserts kinda stink We went on a weekday evening. It is all you can eat, and they will charge you if you over-order and don't eat. Basically what you have left they will charge to you as take-out. I think it's a reasonable approach, and discourages food waste. Sashimi is not included in the All You Can Eat, probably because it just isn't financially feasible There is a pretty wide selection of food, consisting mostly of California rolls of some sort. The fish selection is limited. No octopus or other premium sushi fish available. Tuna, yellowtail and salmon are about the best things. If you like smoked eel like I do, they do have that. They also have tilapia, which I to this day can't understand anyone ordering, but hey, they have it. It is very easy to order, and the servers are very attentive. We had various sushi, several different rolls, some hibachi steak and for dessert cheesecake and chocolate mousse. Sushi: it's good, but not great. No doubt in my mind all the fish was frozen at some point, as it was all a bit soft, with no "tooth" to any of it, even the squid. It wasn't "bad" by any stretch though. The pieces are small, which I'd bet is a way of keeping costs down. You can order all you want, but just be aware each piece is about half the size of what you'd see in a primo a la carte restaurant. All of the rolls were very tasty, and heavily feature "crab" and the cheaper fish. At a certain point the difference between many of them is hard to tell, and with some of the sauces they end up tasting the same when you eat them anyway. This isn't a knock on the restaurant or the food itself, just sort of a side effect of having so many rolls available on a menu. Hibachi steak was pretty darned awesome. Very tasty, with zucchini, onion and carrot slices. The dessert is, shall we say, pitiful. The cheesecake is a tiny sliver of a very sub-par cheesecake. The chocolate mousse tastes like cool whip with some hot cocoa mixed into it. They are tolerable, but you'd be better off ordering a banana-containing roll for dessert and get more flavor and satisfaction. I'd go back. Tried this location last week. Service was great. Waiter was very attentive and helpful. The first order of foods were fine. We placed the 2nd order of foods. And we waited over 10 min before the first dish came out. Same issue at lots of AYCE locations. A few items we ordered never showed up.. This is the negative of this type of AYCE because you depend on the service and the kitchen to get it right so you can have an enjoyable dinner.. I did not like it when we ate, then sat around for over 10 min waiting for the stuffs that we ordered. I normally ordered ahead of time so we don't have to wait, but maybe this is the trick that restaurant pulled on you.. I won't be back at this Lorton location for sure read more

Sushi Ohayo is a solid all you can eat sushi spot in the DMV. My party ordered a couple of appetizers along with some nigiri and sushi rolls. I wouldn't recommend ordering the shrimp tempura as it was mostly breading, but the regular vegetable tempura was alright. The miso soup was good but was served lukewarm. Kani salad was alright, but the avocado salad was absolutely amazing. It was really good quality avocado drizzled with eel sauce. The quality of the sushi was alright for AYCE. I would recommend trying out all the rice-less items to get your money's worth. Out of all the rice-less sushi options, I really liked the salmon bowl. The black pepper tuna and yellowtail jalapeno were also pretty good but the amount of sauce can be a bit overwhelming. The nigiri were pretty solid and there was relatively good fish to rice ratio. My party and I had ordered various rolls. All of which were absolutely delicious. A standout roll for me was the dynamite roll. Service was okay. When my party and I arrived, there was a line out the door and there didn't appear to be any instructions by staff on how to get added to the queue. Make sure to go to the front desk to get your party placed on the waitlist as people waiting in line may already be in the queue. Some of the items we ordered didn't end up coming out and we would occasionally have to wave down staff to order some more or ask about the status of our orders. I got tricked to come here from the reviews. I am Sitting in this place now. The rice in sushi is so dry and no flavor. Shrimp yakisoba noodles s ridiculous, tiny shrimp. Special rolls loaded with rice. Fish on the sushi is so thin and lots of rice. Wasabi color is odd looking green and no taste. A star for a nice clean place and quick service. Vincent was the greatest much love to him he has a great welcoming attitude, is very attentive, and easy to converse with. Ambiance is what you would expect from a strip mall restaurant location. As far as the food sushi rolls are really good, go for tuna salmon and yellowtail avoid crab. Yellow tail jalapeño appetizer is really good as well.
