A great place to get reasonably priced Indian food in Cola. Tikka masala is delicious and the naan is to die for.

Delicious and flavorful options on the weekend lunch buffet. Many vegetarian and non vegetarian choices. I tried a little of everything and was not disappointed. A good balance of both spicy options and not so spicy options. Some favorites from today included the mutter paneer, Veg Kolhapuri, samosa chat and Shahi Tukda for dessert. Brought home spicy vindaloo for my husband and he thought it was spectacular. The servers were very attentive, the buffet stayed full and hot and the tables cleared. I went to 2 Gingers for the first time the other night on the recommendation of a friend who lives down the street. It did not disappoint! I got the chicken makhani (also called butter chicken) and it was delicious! My boyfriend got the chicken rogan josh and it was good as well. We are excited to go back and try more dishes! Only had a couple of minor complaints: the service is a little slow, our finished plates sat in front of us for about 15 mins before they were cleared, our check wasn't brought until about 10 more minutes later. We also had to flag a waiter down to bring us more water, and even so, he only brought enough for one person so we had to split it. This would not have irritated me as much of the food hadn't been so spicy! Everyone at our table ordered "mild" and we were all sweating. Idk if they just have the spice ratings for funsies or what but it was hot, and we all eat spicy food quite often. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but if you're wimpy about spice be careful! (Back story)Prior to my visit to 2Ginger, I had never even tried Indian food. This place was recommended to me by my sister who had been boasting about how great their food is. So while in town to visit with her, was stopped in to eat. Immediately upon entering the Resturant I was greeted very warmly by a gentleman who seemed to take great pleasure in his work. The atmosphere was calming and inviting. The tables were all nicely set and don't feel like the usual buffet style ambiance. Once seated I expressed to him that I had never had Indian food and was looking forward to experiencing everything that the buffet had to offer but I was unsure of where to start. I could immediately see the pride on his face to share his countries cuisines. He offered his expertise and advice on what to try and how to eat many of the dishes. The food was absolutely amazing and I'm no world renounced chief but the food was very authentic. Every bite had layers of flavor and just the right amount of spice. I could tell that they take pride in the food they serve. The curry was absolutely amazing and truly delicious. I learned how to eat naan, which was so good. I also tried several other flavorful components, of course I don't remember the names of any of them. My waiter even shared a darling family story about rice pudding (which was also quite good despite my initial reservation) and how tedious of a task it is to make. Not only did I have an opportunity to try new food, I also got an amazing experience from 2Ginger that I will remember for years to come. The entire army of staff members were kind and eager to help. By the time I left I was embarrassingly full, as I literally tried EVERYTHING! I just want to say to my fantastic waiter that I was quite pleased with the food, and service was spectacular. Went to this restaurant with high hopes but was disappointed food tastes good, not bad but service is pathetic , placed the order for appetizers which took 20 minutes, food ordered before appetizer came. These guys completely forgot the order. The staff was completely confused about why they are there. We are not going there ever and don't recommend anyone else from going there either. read more

This place is amazing. Do not pay any attention to any of the negative reviews. I went to 2Gingers on a Sunday night and it was very busy. However, we were seated promptly. The waitress was clearly very busy and let us know that they were a little backed up in the kitchen due to all the customers. When the food arrived we understood why the place was so busy. Indian cuisine is one of my favorite types of food, and 2Gingers did not disappoint. The Tikka Masala and garlic nann was beyond phenomenal. My friend got the paneer masala and (it being her first time trying Indian food) she fell in love. I am so glad I tried this place out. Have been there 3 times, each time with a new group of people. I've had everything from some of the best butter chicken I have ever had, chicken saag, and lamb 2 gingers special curry (or some similar name). Go for the onion kulcha as well. In addition to great food, had a great selection of Indian beers. So definitely always something new and delicious to try. read more

We frequently go to Delhi Palace so we were excited to try a different Indian restaurant. This place used to be called Bombay but recently changed their name to 2 Ginger. Other than minor decor changes, the place looks the same. Their buffet is until 2:30 pm and a great way to sample various dishes. We were disappointed with their selection. There was only three chicken dishes and the rest were vegetable. I was hoping for lamb, goat or something different. After talking to the waitress, Wednesday and Saturday have different meat options. There was only one desert option, rice pudding, and the rice was undercooked and slightly hard. They were confused about honoring the 10% deal from Yelp. Overall the food was ok at best. I'll stick with Delhi Palace for now. read more

Visiting Orangeburg, S.C., my main squeeze said he wanted Indian food. No Indian restaurants in town, so we asked the Indian desk clerk, who sent us to 2 Gingers, about an hour away in Columbia. Cheerful greeting as we entered, helpful suggestions from serving staff. All the food was delicious, from the crisp, tortilla-like paper served with chutney to the chicken xucati, vegetable fritters and vegan dishes. Just moved to the area and always on the hunt for good Indian food. 2 gingers did not disappoint! Their lunch buffet had a good variety of vegetarian and meat options as well as sauces and dessert. Everything tasted really fresh and dishes were replenished quickly. Service was prompt and the price was reasonable. Found this doing a search on Restaurant.com and got $15 off of $30. Great Indian restaurant that serves more than your average fare. Great regional dishes such as chicken lychee, which was sweet, spicy and tropical with a coconut curry. Had the tandoori jinga (shrimp) and was treated with a great sizzling platter presentation and fiery, juicy shrimps! We came on Thursday which is dosa night, an all you can eat event that attracted a lot of customers. Owner was very friendly and visited each of the tables. read more

We have been looking for a serviceable Indian Food restaurant in Columbia, SC. There were some dishes we hadn't had before and some that we sort of missed seeing, but all in all we were satisfied with the food and the service. The best Indian food I've had has been in Seattle, WA and in Plano, TX (who'da thunk?), but this was good enough and 4 stars for Columbia, SC. This place is garbage. If you want Indian food go to Saffron or Persis, just not here. Their service is terrible. I ate there and got zero refills on my drink and after I sat down no one ever came back. I would have loved to have some more water and to order a beer but no one ever even stopped by. I was completely on my own once I sat down. The food is kinda okay. Definitely not great. It was bland and boring at best. The food tasted like it came out of a seasoning packet. I was a frequent diner and always enjoyed the food and great presentation. VERY surprised recently when I saw the name change from Bombay Grill to 2 gingers. Seems like a change of management, presentation terrible. Food has lost its taste, the goat Biryani had almost no goat pieces in it, those that could be hunted down were minuscule in size. Waiter took forever to show you at our table with water. Given that the place serves Indian food and being of Indian origin, I can tell of the sharp decline in standards with the new management. I so wanted to like this place. My wife and I arrived to dinner 10 minutes before they opened and were the first people in the door at 530 pm. At 600 pm, having watched the waiters wait on multiple tables of Indians and never approaching us, we got up to leave. I cannot leave a review of the food because we never saw any beyond some rote papadums left on the table.
