I came to this location due to my father recommending it. I got the "Wanda Wonder" sandwich (cold sandwich) . This sandwich was so good. The portion is enough to feed two people. I had enough leftovers to make a few more sandwiches. Next time, I'll try a hot sandwich. The best part about this business is when I got there, the owner, Wanda, came out and greeted me with a smile and a hug. I know she's a busy lady, but she literally sat there and talked to me for 5-10 minutes as if I had known her for years. I definitely recommend this place. Service is nice I'm a picky eater and they were able to accommodate that, the place is decorated nicely and super clean but I wish there was music playing as it's awkward being in here basically sitting in silence made me take my food to go. My boyfriend got the chicken Jerk sandwich which they let us know it is now turkey and me being on the extremely picky side got a basic salami and cheese sandwich with mustard and cucumbers. I love that they offer turkey bacon as someone who isn't a fan of pork bacon this makes me happy. Both sandwiches were amazing definitely coming back read more

This is the best sandwich spot that I know. Ms Wanda is super kind and gracious. Her sandwiches are extremely loaded up. The portions are gigantic so don't be scared if you do not finish it. I usually eat a half for lunch and the other half for dinner. Her energy, charisma, friendliness, and the super good food makes us always come back. Highly recommend. read more

Was in Paramount, but after seeing the reviews, had to go out of my way to try the chicken salad sandwich. Pulled up and was greeted by owner Wanda in the parking lot. I noted her JESUS sweat pants and knew id arrived at the right place for lunch. Advice: be prepared! Picked up the sandwich and it seriously felt like it weighed 2 pounds! I can eat a 12" sub, but could only eat half the sandwich. Could generously feed 2 adults...u been warned! Sweet french Bread was so soft and the chicken with diced apples was nothing short of amazingly delicious, moist, and the secret in-house sauce perfectly complimented the flavor. Price is a bit high, but the freshness, quality & serving size makes it 100% worth it! Highly recommended! read more

I got a turkey pastrami sandwich and they didn't have French bread. They put my sandwich on sourdough bread by the time I got home the bread was so soggy It was a mess. I noticed if it's not the bread it's the meat sometimes no chips. If you can get what you came for you might be satisfied. But it's a hidden miss. Update Hi there, Yes, someone did ask if it was okay to use sourdough bread after the order was placed. Wanda K, your sandwiches are very good, but as you mentioned, your pastrami is quite juicy, and sourdough may not be the best option for that type of sandwich. Given the situation with the soggy sourdough, it might have been more appropriate to acknowledge the issue and apologize, rather than referencing your policy about reserving the right to refuse service. Better bread for the sandwiches bread gets soggy real quick and time making. Waiting over an hour is crazy, taking lunch breaks at noon when u open at 11 in the morning and close at 4 pm. Better service.. the food is good but I stand by what I just said. My opinion their should not be a lunch break u are only open part time 10 minutes for a break is cool. Just saying. read more

Wowza, no kidding with the portion sizes. My sister and I visited today for a some healthy sandwiches. I got the Chicken salad: a nice balance sweet and savory, so good! So yesterday, I was starving, and wanted to go to my favorite sandwich place, but I was out of town (I live in Long Beach, CA), so I hopped on YELP, and dialed up sandwiched. Of course all of the corporate sandwich places came up, but up came "2nd Healthy Eatery," or Wanda's Place and I thought, ok, I would try this place. The photos looked a bit unreal to me, but I said, what the heck. Though I came later after the lunch rush, Wanda the owner was so welcoming, and let me know if all the choices her establishment offers, and I did get a little curious when a couple of customers were raving about how great the place was. I kept asking myself, is this real? Well, let me tell you. I WAS SHOCKED at the sandwich I ordered, THE WANDA. It was like four sandwiches in one. Take a look at the photo. That was the sandwich I received. You could cut into 4 pieces and feed four people it was so big. The Wanda Sandwich was EXCELLENT. Not only the finest ingredients, but take a look at the presentation, AND IT'S A SANDWICH SHOP. OMG!! It was great. The 2nd Healthy Eatery is not that far from where I live, and whenever I need a sandwich that will be able to be cut into four meals, Wanda's Place is my new GO TO!!! Chile, you want a sandwich then that's exactly what you'll get from here. I stumbled upon this place after leaving the salon next door. I searched on Yelp and couldn't resist giving it a try. The ladies in the shop were friendly and explained the menu before I ordered. I got the dretta Cajun sandwich which has Cajun turkey boar's head meat on squaw bread. It is made for two people. There's so much meat, I ate some out of the sandwich first before I was able to bite into it. No complaints whatsoever! The sauces were spot on and ingredients tasted fresh. My dad enjoys a good sandwich so I gave him part of mine. Needless to say, he was there ordering the next week. Guess we will both be back. read more

Disappointed with this place. It was incredibly expensive for what you get. Prices aren't listed on the menu, so it was a shock when a sandwich and a salad was $50!!!! Absolutely absurd in my opinion. Not only was it expensive, my salad was basically just sandwich ingredients laid on top a gigantic bed of lettuce. Had to cut up all the veggies and not enough toppings to the lettuce ratio. No way that salad cost more than a few bucks to put together. Won't be going back. The BEST sandwich shop in Bellflower and honestly, probably Long Beach. Ms. Wanda is so friendly and very kind, which just adds to the atmosphere. The portions are HUGE, so be careful when ordering a lot. The Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich was phenomenal, a little spicy, but so freaking delicious. I probably shouldn't even rate this place because I didn't get a chance to try their food. They closed an hour before their posted closing time. I got there at 3 pm excited to try their sandwiches and salads but a woman met us at the door where a set of keys were hanging from the deadbolt on the door and told us they were closed because "they ran out." Not sure what she meant but I wasn't happy when I heard that. She said to come back tomorrow and come early. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be coming back as I was just passing through Bellflower on my way to the Bay Area from SD. I made a special trip just to try this place out! What a bummer! read more

First of all, the sandwich size will be the biggest you will ever hold in your life. Its not even just the size. The taste does not miss either. The whole meal comes with a sandwich that is 2 pounds heavy, bag of chips, and a pickle thats also pretty huge. The service is also really good. Wanda knows how to make you feel at home. The only downside is that you have to get their huge portion which can be pricey, about 28 dollars for the set but its worth an experience in my opinion read more

I'm sorry to say that this was a complete disappointment. Paying $25 for a sandwich it better deliver. The meat is sliced way too thick and the French roll was stale. If you're going to make a sandwich that big you better put it on bread that can support it after two bites the thing completely fell apart. Sorry to say for the price it's not worth it. read more

This local spot has a wide variety of sandwiches and salads. Everything is fresh and made to order. The portions are HUGE, so big that it was somewhat unwieldy to handle, but it's good food overall. I eat a lot, and getting the sandwiches at 2nd Healthy Eatery is one of the few places where I have left overs. I would The staff is super friendly, they gave my son a pack of gummy candy when he was running all over the place. 2nd healthy eatery had a great backstory and cause. The price of the meal is on the higher side, but if you break it out by the actual food you get it's a great deal. Also came across a yummy coconut milk drink in their selection. Forget Jersey Mikes or any of those chain spots! You MUST try this place! I'm visiting here for the first time and I'm truly amazed by the customer service. The owner, Wanda happened to be there and she personally welcomed us and brought out samples of the chicken salad. The sandwiches we ordered were nothing short of amazing - they were fresh, incredibly delicious, and came in generous portions. It's clear that this place takes pride in both its food and hospitality. We also ordered the fruit refreshers MultiGreen and Watermelon. OMG! It's like Agua Fresca on steroids. So Fresh and big chunks of fruit. We dined in and I'm glad we did! Wanda let us try her fried half moon pies. OMG!! Game changer!! They run a very efficient operation! I pick up sandwiches here several times a month. Generous portions. Sandwiches come in Mini, Small (6"), and Large (12"). Small is plenty for an average eater. I brought my husband his roast beef ($18!). He is not a picky eater, AT ALL! He said it wasn't very good and he should bring them an Arby's to show what a roast beef sandwich should look like. He was really disappointed. Sorry, if you love this place, please ignore my review but I highly recommend that you do NOT order these sandwiches unless the owner makes an announcement that they've taken steps to improve. Went by here for lunch, service was great and the woman at the counter offered to make one sandwich less spicy for us. That was pretty cool. For $10/sandwich I wasn't sure what I was getting, but when she brought them out I understood. Easily, one sandwich is enough for a family of 4. It tasted great, and I would definitely visit again. What would have made me give them a 5? I would like to see a more appropriate serving option. Perhaps sell 1/2 sandwiches at a lower price? I'm a little concerned about how your signs extol the virtues of healthy eating but portions don't reflect anything near what would be considered a healthy serving size. So, for anyone confused: the service was great, the food was good with fresh ingredients, but I can't in good conscience spend $10+ on a single sandwich on a regular basis or eat that much food on a regular basis. read more

The fries were like a regular/crinkle design, and they were crispy, had a great crunch, and honestly tasted top tier for fast food. The special sauce they give with it was really good. I ordered the Chicken n Cheddar Rancher, and also tried the Spicy Cajun Chicken sandwich. Both were packed with flavor and made really well. The bread was fluffy, the sauces were on point, and everything just came together perfectly. On the Chicken n Cheddar Rancher, I added bell peppers, jalapeños, and honey mustard, and that combination took it to another level. Every bite had the perfect balance of heat, sweetness, and savory flavor. Out of fast food sandwich spots, in my opinion this easily beats Jersey Mike's Subs, Ike's Love & Sandwiches, and Subway without a doubt.

Inside offers a small dining area, tables looked clean from I was able to tell while waiting for our order. We ordered the trio platter and a beef gyro salad to go. This is an order/pay at the register place and they bring your food to you place . Here is our impression on our order.. Gyro salad ( my order) generous portion ( salad was huge) Downside was the gyro seemed like the frozen kind you heat and served and was not the carved kind I am use to getting at mediterranean places. Also was lacking in dressing. Trio platter ( fiancé ordered) Smaller portion than expected. Same gyro meat as salad. The chicken and shrimp was flavored well and was delicious. The Greek salad it came with had no dressing, we had to add our own we had at home otherwise we would just be eating lettuce. ***note to management *** if the $5 off 1st time order is no longer valid . Recommended to remove from your site. While ordering, I mentioned to the only staff member out front about the online order I tried to place . His reply was oh have you placed an order before and I replied with no this is my first time here. His reply was then oh maybe they forgot to take down the code. His reply regarding this was just weird altogether My rating is reflecting my Overall impression. I was not impressed with this place and will not be returning. Food was just ok and service was also meh. After seeing all the 5 star lovely reviews I was disappointed in my experience.

You can sign up and order online and receive a discount with every order. I never ordered online but did sign up for discount and points and have received discounts frequently. Food have always looked fresh and nicely prepared at this location. They do have a 25% off section for dates that are close to expire. Lastly they accept ebt for those who have a card.

It's a medium interior, seating for 20 or so, a nice large display tower for bags of chips, and still has a cafe feel from decades ago. It seems to be operated by a husband-wife team, likely a family-owned business. My go-to sub is the meatball, and I selected the small 6-inch over the large 10-inch. I got it to go and was surprised how well it was wrapped, with a layer on just the filling to keep it contained during transport. The bread was nice and spongy, the meatball were savory and a good size to eat one per bite, but I found the tomato sauce to be much more acidic than I care for. I expect I'll be back to try some other subs from the menu (i also like Italian-type subs).
