Telling my husband, he became interested. We tried it the day after Christmas in 2025. We had four sandwiches (yes, we're piggies): - polish sausage: mustard and pickles, came with melted mozz cheese on top - turkey avocado: I asked for the vinegar oil dressing on top - pastrami: mustard and pickles, and I asked for onions on top - turkey bacon avocado: everything was so good, we decided to get a fourth...lol What is so GREAT about this place is the woman behind the counter. She is warm and friendly and you can tell, humble. The bread is from Glasso's (because any sandwich shop that doesn't use Glasso's will never be great), produce and meats are fresh and the bacon is crispy and not greasy. In other words, JUST LIKE MY MOM'S!!!! I cannot believe how good everything was. No Philly Cheese by Juline, kids. So sorry. But only my mom did that well any way. I'm honestly stunned this place is rated above 3 stars. Looking at pictures in the reviews makes me feel like the bar for a "good" sub is super low. I felt like a sandwich so my partner and I came here because I wanted to support a local business and skip Jersey Mike's. Unfortunately, I wish I had just gone there. Ordered an avocado and bacon submarine. It was ready quickly, which was nice. The sandwich itself was very sad. The bread was the wonder-bread version of a submarine baguette. There were a few sad strips of bacon that had clearly been sitting a while. It was very light on all the ingredients and didn't have much flavor. I won't be back. My mom is a regular at this shop and we've all enjoyed their sandwiches, but today she was greeted with hostility and unprofessionalism. She ordered a sandwich and mistook the avocado inside as fungus. My mom went back just to ask if it was - not demanding a refund. Immediately the woman at the counter started yelling at her in Korean, touching the sandwich and the inside of it with her bare hands. My mom just wanted to know and had no desire to ruin the business. My mom asked if they could remake it since the lady at the counter touched it with her bare hands, but she refused and continued to yell at her. My mom was embarrassed and just took the sandwich and left. The man behind the counter was trying to defuse the situation and apologized, but the way the lady responded was extremely unprofessional. Standard fare, clean indoors, no a/c though. Manned by one older lady, she was quiet and took our order then quietly prepared them. We did take out and she very kindly boxed them up for convenient handling. I got a hot pastrami / came with mustard and pickles (I was craving more meat). The hot meatball sub also is topped with melted cheese. I prefer a heartier bread - these sandwiches could not stand up to the sauces. Clean and cozy mom and pop sub sandwich shop. I love the old school feeling of this place. The proprietor a older gentleman and I believe his wife. What I like it's not a subway or Jimmy John's type so patients waiting for your order. These kind of establishments are key to the community. So the subs come in 6 in or 10 inch the menu board is old school so ask what come in your sandwich. These are made to order so it makes it great. They have a vegetarian sandwich that's cool ! Luckily, places like TJ's still exist and are the reason why you should absolutely support non-chain and local businesses. I stumbled across this sub shop while looking and craving for a sandwich spot. Thanks to Yelp I was able to discover it as I regularly visit from out of town. These sandwiches always hit the spot and are made with love. Personally, my favorite is the club sandwich and the cool thing is any of the subs can be made as salads. They have a nice variety of sandwiches as well as chips to pair with your subs. There is plenty of indoor dining and is a fantastic spot for lunch. From every visit I notice there is a steady stream of regulars for lunch and that's fantastic to see. I love finding local spots like this. You can also order ahead if you're on a time crunch, but they do a great job of making your subs in a timely manner whether it's for to go or dining in. I have been going to TJ's for years usually when I go to my bank. I'm always happy to go there because the workers are friendly and cheerful. I like eating inside the restaurant because it's always clean and there's newspaper front from World War II on the walls, I always get the TJ special and it's fresh and delicious. The selection of meat is perfect, the roll is soft, and the spice level is great for me. I really liked this place back in the mid seventies when the original owner worked there. That guy knew how to build a great tasting sandwich. I always saw high school classmates there. Now it's just not the same anymore. The flavors are muted. The same pictures are still on the walls and it looks the same but maybe it's just me missing the old days. The amount in the pastrami was particularly disappointing. There was just a lot of mayonnaise in the turkey avocado and mustard in the pastrami. If I came back I would definitely get a large. Coworkers wanted to eat here and I let them talk me into it. Maybe I came on an off day before? I tried the BBC (Beef & Bacon & Cheese) and it was really good. I think I asked for extra mayo which helped with the ratio to moisture issue I had before. BIG sandwich. I may have to try another sandwich to see where it really lands.
