I'm upgrading my review to 4 stars because this place really doesn't get the credit it deserves. Food prices are more on the expensive side but the quality and portions are so worth it. Service is super friendly and quick to prepare the sandwiches. This location is clean and has easy to read menus to make your decisions. I went with the steak and cheese to try something new and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. I'll be back again to try other sandwiches on the menu

Excited that there's a Firehouse Subs in the neighborhood! Sure, it's a franchise. Of all the sandwich chains, this one is definitely a fave with their solid selection of warm subs and hot sauces. Like so many hot sauces. It's like the Hot Ones of sandwich chains. There's something for everyone! There are self-service kiosks for ordering, or you can place it at the counter. Wait-time for the sandwiches is kind of long, but service is friendly and the food is solid. My favorite is their chicken + bacon club, with added veggies. My husband swears by their barbecue sauce slathered options. Again, something for everyone. Is it worth the cost? Not in my humble opinion but like-- is anything? 2025 has not been kind to our pockets. ~$18/person for an 8inch sandwich combo does seem pretty brutal. It is filling though, and delicious.

I could not be more happily surprised by my first visit here! I have two words for you "fresh bread". The roll was absolutely delicious. It was warm, lightly toasted, soft and delectable. They won me over just with the bread. Then, add sweet honey ham. The ham was almost like meat candy! The provolone was slightly melted and creamy. The other major bonus was the pickle spear that is included with each sandwich. I loved the wrapping in the box. It was very easy to eat out of the container and the sandwich didn't get smashed at all. There is a good variety of chips also. They carry coke products which I drastically prefer over pepsi. My only reason not awarding 5 stars is the price. It was 20 dollars each for sandwich and chips without drinks. For 4 sandwiches, 5 chips and one drink it was over 80 bucks. Still beats dine in restaurant prices. I will return just for the bread!

Came to try out our towns newest addition for fast food subs one of my favs that we haven't had in town, my first impression is that there are still some kinks to be worked out in the ordering and service department. The location is pretty small inside so we took our food to enjoy at home instead. The food is decent but I wouldn't say it's all worth the price we paid for what we got. I also did not receive my desert with the combo I paid for. May or may not be back in the future

Way too expensive for just meat and cheese. This place is not last long in Bellflower.

These sandwiches are trash !! I prefer a real deli sandwich. The bread was too soft. The meat was mushy. No way. Never again !!!

Hoping they make a comeback like Rocky. I live this place. I an not a usual, not here every…read moreweekend, but legit is my to go place to have a beer with buddies. I preach this place like i was on their payroll haha, but they sell themselves. I have put on so many people to this place. So many options, lots of bottle/cans and a rotating draft menu that carries more than IPAs, nothing wrong with IPAs, i drink them but other types exist. I can always find my funky Sours on tap, and did i mention delicious fresh samiches? Dayum son! Hope nothing but good luck for them, they are a staple in Downey's DNA.

My best friend of nearly 40yrs and I really enjoy a well made sandwich. In our pursuit of great…read moresandos, we've tried Katz Deli in NYC, Brent's in Northridge and even the sorely missed but never forgotten Miller's East Coast Deli in San Francisco. So when, tasked with finding a suitable place for our quarterly lunch meeting, I entered "Jewish deli" and "Downey" into Yelp, half expecting to find the lackluster lineup of national chains that PURPORT to make good sandwiches- Subway, Joysie Mike's, Jimmy John's and the usual suspects of sandwich sorriness! Imagine then, fellow Yelpers, when Uncle Henry's Deli appeared...as welcome a sight as my gorgeous bikini-clad wifey. Both Mick and I, who first bonded over our shared love of the national pastime, immediately likened Henry's with the MLB legend who shares my birthday- Henry Louis Aaron, aka Hamnerin' Hank and the REAL all-time home run leader, Barry Bonds and his oversized gourd, er, head be damned. In his 22yr career, Aaron belied his average size (5ft 11 tall, 185 lbs) and deployed his missile-fast wrists to smack 755 homers. All while playing in Jim Crow era Atlanta. Uncle Henry's Deli, similarly, defies expectations. Who would think of putting a Jewish-style delicatessen in Downey, famous for birthing the honey-voiced Carpenters and the self-styled "Mexican Beverly Hills?!" Mick ordered a super sized Original, which is turkey, roast beef + ham plus cheddar on white. He went with potato wedges which are sizable. Me? I chose one hot, one cold. A super sized Big B (Pastrami, Bacon + Swiss on toasted sourdough, hold the pickles) and an Egg Salad on enviably well made squaw bread, hold the tomatoes. Pro Tip- From a lifetime of ordering well made sandos in every major city in America, never put tomatoes on a cold sandwich unless you want the notoriously water-dense fruit to dampen your sandwich! The only mild drawback of my food order was the side of potato salad, which in my opinion would benefit from some black pepper and minced celery. The service at Henry's is expedient- You've barely helped yourself to one of their dark wood benches when they've called your order! The restroom was, yes, as cozy as the overall venue...but sufficiently clean + stocked. Watch out, tho- The hot water runs hotter than the devil's temperature! In closing, you can take Uncle Henry's to the bank. Yes, you'll part with upwards of a Jackson, mebbe even two. But you'll enjoy the treat, cuz the caliber of food is very bit as real as the hammer (aka Louisville Slugger) that Hamnering Hank used to bash all of his home runs with.
