This place is NYC or LA worthy!! Never have I found such scrumptious confections in a smallish town. It is SO WORTH waking up early to pick out your daily treats. And that's my recommendation...get there early! They do sell out! We arrived at opening and by the time we sat down to enjoy, there was a line out the door. I'd been eying this place on social media for my next trip to Evansville. I love that it's in this old Biscuit company building. It's got tall ceilings and lots of open lighting. I loved the bake goods- and rose pistachio donut was super interesting. The Bahn Mi breakfast sandwich was tasty but not knock my socks off good. The porridge options looked good and want to try those next time. They have maybe 6-8 small tables and then a raised high top bar to eat at along the window into the prep area. It had a steady stream of folks come while we were there. I'd like to try it again for sure. Japanese cuisine is one of my favorites especially being born and raised in California where the Japanese population is high. Some girls I met planned a dinner reservation here four nights ago and I couldn't make it, SO my husband booked a reservation for us to try it another night. So, in my opinion if I am being honest, I was overly excited to try this place out for the 1st time. The booth that we were seated at was full of tiny food scraps, it was DIRTY...nobody wiped it down I guess prior to us being seated and there was a lot of other open seating available too which is why I was confused too. Anyway, as for the vegetable ramen, it was pretty good, the ONLY downfall was the fact that the noodles in my bowl were stuck at the bottom so I had to take apart the noodles a little. The other order we had was the vegan veggie rice bowl.... Definitely had to pick at it the sauce was very unpleasant and the carrots (or whatever the cylindrical orange color vegetable) was WAY too over cooked / soft... made the whole dish not tasty so had to just leave it. He probably should have ordered the vegan or vegetarian ramen instead. Anyway, desert it was okay we had the coconut cream brûlée. Was it good? Yes! Would I order it again? No. I'll definitely wait to order other deserts or the older more popular ones (donuts, tarts, etc) when & if those ever come back on the menu/ if I decide to ever come back here again honestly... probably should just have told the waitresses that the vegan bowl wasn't good maybe they could've switched it out----- maybe I should've told them heyyy can you wipe the table down and the seats----who knows? read more

The manager was very hands on with us making sure we had everything we needed. He explained all the differences in the ramen dishes.
